It would be great if the rotabeam modules were not synced with each other, or at the very least, alternated the rotating pattern so that both sides were not "dark" at the same time.
If I added one of these to our squad cars I'd have it like the federal signal Aerodynic lightbar with three rotaters in the middle on each end and one set of modual a on the corners to make for the flashers the Aerodynic had and have it red/blue and the back modual she amber. I think it would nice and have the old fashioned look. :)
Where can I find a wiring schematic for a Code 3 RX2700? I'm replacing a cable that got burned and it's being connected to a Whelen CenCom Gold controller. I also need guidence on how to wire the cable to the controller connector. All the LED modules have been replaced.
Please visit this link to Code 3's site. Here you can download Installation Instructions that includes the RX2700. www.code3esg.com/us/en/products/lightbars/single-level/rx2700
SIRENNET what would a ball park price for a Mini Freedom IV Rota-Beam SuperLED series with a "Rotor" on both ends in a amber/white setup. "As in what the stock picture on your website of this item looks like" Thanks!
If you were to add an additional wiring harness that operated the S/T/T specifically, then yes, it can be set-up that way. Out of the Box, the Rota-Beam Freedom is not designed to operate Brake/Tail/Turn lights.
Are you using a car battery charger to power that bar? I use one for my Vista but when I'm connecting the hot to the wires it makes sparks and smells like burning a bit - though it powers the lightbar. How do you guys avoid sparks upon contact? The sparks stop once it's fully connected.
We use regulated power converters. They take a conventional AC current and drop it to a regulated 11-16 volt DC output. They are designed to protect from over and under voltage as well.
You use a switch box/controller of some sort and make sure all the switches are off and there is no current being drawn when you are hooking it up. There is no getting around sparks but they happen inside the switches and thus you don't see them.
Chris. I have been messing with light bar at work for street department. I got all the lights to work. Except for slide switch to run the flashers. If i touch the blue wire to the slide switch they will turn on. So seems like it not getting power to slide switch. It is driving me crazy. I replaced control board and same thing happened. Any ideas would help. Thanks. I don’t know much about this. Our mechanic retired so I’m just trying to help city save on spendings. I don’t know if he disconnected something some where or what
Started making the bars thin, now going backwards & making them fatter again, seems a lot of wasted space these new roto beams, be great as a beacon or minibar maby !?
Public Safety Lights Australia Many departments prefer the rotating look. This design is to appeal to those departments while giving them the benefits of LED with no moving parts (unlike the PowerArc or Federal Signal models that use moving parts).
Public Safety Lights Australia Me too. If you like these Roto beams you should see the other lightbar they come in which is the Delta bar. Sirennet has a video up of that one too. It is insane.
There are many, many differences between these 2 leading platforms. If you'd like, please give our Tech. Department a call at (888) 959-0911. They can go over all the details with you. Thank You.

Blaine Bugaski Using the Scan-Lock trigger wire, you can adjust the Modules so that the patterns are different from one another.
Very cool, that would help to "randomize" the pattern and allow for less dark time.
Can the rota beam module be installed into an Edge 9000?
John DiRenzo , u probably can, but you would need to get new everything for the edge 9000 from strobe light to led

Do you have any pictures of the controller connector that you can review?

The rear lins, can they be changed to S/T/T lights?
If you were to add an additional wiring harness that operated the S/T/T specifically, then yes, it can be set-up that way. Out of the Box, the Rota-Beam Freedom is not designed to operate Brake/Tail/Turn lights.
Was wondering since I may purchase one for a plow vehicle, but wanted S/T/T on the Roto-beam. Thanks for the response. :)

@@TempoDrift1480 I was 15 or 16 when I wrote this and work on electronics for a living now. Though I appreciate the reply.
is there a stt function available?
A set of Brake/Tail/Turn Modules can be installed in the rear of the current Freedom IV Rota Beam.

Why didn’t he turn on the entire light bar?
" I like to check out the wire harness" .....I would fry the thing in a second
No takedown light?
No need for them in this platform with it really being Fire Apparatus designed... but they are an option :)
This is called High Current, instead of Low Current.
no flipping way
Way to big
It's meant for a firetruck, or DOT vehicles not a pick up truck
