The Most Toxic Place on Earth: Living on a Toxic Waste Site: • The Most Toxic Place o...
In the Niger desert, home to some of the largest uranium reserves in the world, lies the Areva mine. Every year, Niger produces over 2,500 tonnes of yellow cake, a uranium concentrate, creating tonnes of toxic waste. Close to the mine is the village of Arlit, where radioactivity levels exceed those of the Chernobyl Prohibited Zone. Dust from the mine is carried on the winds into people’s houses, endangering their lives and killing local wildlife.
From Niger, the Uranium is shipped to the Orano plant in Narbonne, France, which has become the gateway of uranium to Europe. Here it is purified before being sent on to nuclear plants, a process which again causes tonnes of toxic waste. Near the plant, radioactivity levels are 50 times normal and campaigners call for tighter regulation.
The Green Warriors team take dozens of samples from residents in both Arlit and Narbonne to learn more about uranium pollution. Their findings trigger a political debate and are used as evidence in a lawsuit against the mining company.

When i was a kid we travled round France for tree weeks every summer. One day when i was sitting in the back of the car looking at the landscape passing by i said "soon we will pass a nuclear power plant" my parents looked at me in dusbelieve, " why are you saing that" they asked me. And just as i predicted we soon passed a nuclear power plant. I had observed that every time we aprossed a nuclear plant those balls of misgrowth in trees got more and more numerous, and after we passed they got fever.
Every nuclear power plant on earth leakes radioactivity. This unlike co2 is a real threat to life on earth 😢

The majority of Mongolian citizens are against it. But those who hold power already made the paper done. It's just so sad to see this abomination. What's there to do?

Implausible deniability. Shame on France for allowing this to happen.

Everything about nuclear energy is a curse.

The fact the eu is demanding green energy but yet dosent enforce underground storage of nuclear waste untill its possible to put it in long term storage is actually insane

Nuclear power is a far from green as it's possible to get.
And co2 is the gas of life, it makes plants grow, the more co2 the more resilient to droughts plants get.
Co2 does more good than harm. Actually it does no harm at all, its NOT pollution.
Man made global warming is a theory, a theory that has been disproved, because all their predictions and models since the seventies turned out to be wrong. But they just keep repeating those lies.
