To respond to your question. Unlike most of the big cities in some "first world countries" Jamaica is a land of natural beauty and packing sky scrapers in our tourists cities might take away from our competitive advantage of being naturally beautiful and organic cities, tourists really want to escape the clustered congested cites. The development is good for the country and the rate at which it's going is placing Jamaica at the top of the list as one of the best countries to work, play, and conduct business. I believe it would be good ensure our designs blends with our natural landscape and also limit high rises in our tourist areas to not more that 5 stories
Mobay is getting so many developments. I hope the Government takes a look at the market and bus park they are in need of a major upgrade. Great update as per usual. Thanks 💯🇯🇲✌🏾🙏🏽
If the billboard is a true guide as to what the shopping centre will look like, something special is coming to Montego Bay! High end, big brand name shopping for sure. Shopping here could be like a new tourist attraction and experience.
Yes Oral! I definitely like the design on the billboard. Everytime I look at the construction I try to envision it turning out like what's on the billboard. I can kind of see it. It will be interesting to see how they get the front to look like the billboard though. Because right now....
Jamaica is on an earthquake fault line like Haiti and because of our experience in the 1920's no high rise buildings can be built according to structural engineers.
Good development for Montego Bay. I just so hope this mall is not filled with t shirt and trinket shops. Montego Bay has way too much of those. We need a mall for high end shopping, cafes restaurant. Whittier Village was a big disappoint there’s nothing to buy there. Why would you build a shopping Center and then fill it with only tourist trinkets shop? Time for change
I did a close up of the design on the billboard in my last video on the shopping center. So you can have a look at it there. Couldn't get it as bright as possible, but it should give you an idea of the design. That is if they stick to the design shown.
I think I understand what you're saying. But, right now if you look at an aerial view of Montego Bay you see that we haven't used much. The city is basically on the edge of the coastline, but with the Perimeter Road I can see the city moving more south in the future.
Great information it's very exciting to see.
Hey 👋 Gabi. It definitely is!

Beautifully said Andrew 👏 👏👏 Great points
Hopefully it will indeed be modern .

Cooyah! You are so right both of those need an upgrade
I agree
You're voting for more skyscrapers, Courtney? Any particular reason?

Yes montego bay needs more high school buildings. here in the US it is all high rises building so the city of montego bay needs more high rises and
Keep safe
You too!
Montego bay looks like a large town not a city . It needs a modern skyline
There is a Harbour City Shopping Mall in Hong Kong, China. I would not be surprised if there is a connection.
Oh yes! I found out when I was researching Harbour City Shopping Centre initially. I wonder 🤔
Yes more skyscrapers and yes the bigger the better
😁 I was waiting on your comment Pete.
It's in a great location in the city . Montego as the potential to outshine Kingston
If this pace of development continues in Jamaica, many residents overseas will not recognize the place so easily upon their return home.
True dat Karl...very true. Hope your Good Friday is going well
Do you have any ideas of what the inside will potentially look like
It is going to be the one of the most modern building in jamaica. montego bay needs more high rises building in the city. Keep up the good job
It definitely will be Fitzroy.
Will it have escalators. If not it will not be modern .
Yes, taller buildings save land space and employs more workers.
Good point 👉
i agree montego bay do need more skyscrapers
Can I ask why you believe so Derrick?
Jamaica is on an earthquake fault line like Haiti and because of our experience in the 1920's no high rise buildings can be built according to structural engineers.
Interesting... thanks for adding me to the discussion. That's definitely something I plan on researching more
Thanks for watching everyone. Hope your Good Friday is going well.
Looks big enough are they going to a 4th level

Is it going to be an indoor mall or just another typical "plaza" like we've seen all over Jamaica

Gotta be honest, if I didn’t see this vid I wouldn’t know that’s a shopping center😅 I thought it was a call center 😂
🤣 I can see how you would think that Alex, at this stage of construction it's kinda looking call center'ish. Now that you point that out.
I really hope it will have escalators seriously no more stairs .
Should have been much bigger
Montego bay needs a 360 seriously. And asap
🇬🇧👊🏽
Hiya 👋 London Boy.
Let kingston have the skyscrapers. Montego bay should go down the route of low rise innovative buildings. Setting it apart from Kingston.
True dat
It's not huge . I've seen bigger malls in Barbados and Trinidad.
We are using up too much land.We need to conserve land by building taller buildings..

Jamaica will never ever become a modern country again I see steps. No escalators in this supposedly modern facility
The inna city of montego bay looks chakka chakka and dutty
True and that’s true of some of the most prominent cities worldwide
Yes montego bay looks like a large town not a city. It needs highrise buildings
