i hate the fact how it combined with joinable private matches, i don't wanna join a lobby with no colors and host being able to teleport the ball everywhere
private matches were fun when there were a lot of people playing them. there used to a bunch of full lobbies you could join, but now no one plays them. the host being able to control the ball just ruins it. there is really no point in freeplay control when there is other players who can do passes
@@2_st0ned70 There's a different when your looking for a Private match lobby and it being overlapped by a online free play, so let's say if you were to do scrims and someone has the same name and password you'll be put in either of those lobby, if you played Joinable Private matches before you would know there's decent size community that play it... And they're mad about this update.
I've said it before, but for me this kind of map is a real necessity for the growth of the game. Shooters have a thousand ways to play it and improve mechanics that don't require multiplayer. Rocket League is such a unique game but in the base game we have very little ways to actually improve on our own. Sometimes I play these maps and don't play ranked because I enjoy them a lot, they're basically their own game within a game.
These remind me of surfing in counterstrike. Like these maps have been a thing in RL for a pretty long time but they are only available in steam workshop. This is what the devs should have been working on instead of rocket racing. Even the concept of rocket racing was poorly executed. People wanted a racing mode in the base game with the mechanics of RL itself. Nobody asked for a fortnite game mode with different mechanics.
@uneazypolarb7691 These are my exact thoughts as well. With Rocket Racing they betrayed not only the fanbase, but the mechanics of their own game. We didn't ask for a racing game with Rocket League skins. We wanted a racing game with Rocket League mechanics. That's also the reason I think Leth's zumo is better than Knock out(I still think Knock out is good), it is just the same thing we've been doing for hours but applied to a different game mode.
As a software dev (not for Rocket League but in general), I hear you. It's heartbreaking to see the lack of support for the custom map community. That's really one of the staples of games that can continue to be fun for a really long time. And as a community, we've tried to find workarounds, but that's exactly the problem and why breaking changes like this happen. It forces third-party maintainers to "fix their map" and make it compatible instead of the maps just being supported in the first place. Hopefully the devs will hear us
I’ve been playing since launch and while I still love RLCS and will continue to support those guys, the modes kinda got stale and repetitive over the years. I was fortunate enough to have a PC for a few years and all I played were custom maps and it was phenomenal. I miss the fun that comes with this game over the sweaty comp play and I wish console could experience that love.
Epic games should make online free play to work on player to player connection. The party leader hosts on his own computer. That way we could get custom map support for multiplayer. Please ask epic games to do this
Couldnt the devs just give us a public free play mode? Where you and your party members just auto join a free play match full of randos that you can chat with while waiting for a match or tourney? Just a system of a bunch of individual hubs?
i have bad internet so i use the online freeplay for warm up to get used to the lag. works great for me. only thing i would change is the passing function thing. when playing with multiple players it should be turned of
@@zepos i have phone sim card internet😅 the ping is not even bad but the problem is more that its jumping up and down. just inconsistent. and it lags more at bad weather😅

@aleximarie8958 basically the majority of players on xbox have one or more of these issues: limited to 60fps (used to be 120), extreme lag with normal internet connection, extreme input lag. there are probably more but im on pc. I went back on xbox to see if it was true and sadly it is

I hope rocket league fixes the game before gdq, I know I sound like a broken record, but Xbox players have been incapable of playing competitively due to input delay and fps cap. At this point many, including myself, will probably not return to the game. This large almost 4 week time period of being incapable of playing has actually given me time to focus on other things, and I feel like coming back to rocket league would do more harm than good. For those who will still pick up the sticks, I hope they fix it soon!
That dribble map made me wonder what it would be like to have the worlds hardest game recreated into a dribble map. Definitely would be a legendary challenge
I got an idea, a 2v2 or 3v3 but the catch is that when one team touches the ball it becomes a heetseeker ball and only seeks the other team, meanwhile when that other team touches the ball it becomes a soccar ball. so one team will have a heatseeker advantage.
When I was doing workshop maps through bakkes it spawned me out of the map every time I died. Dacia springs, some dribble maps. But the progressive island was just fine
I wanted to go back to the Immortals Progressive Island map and was concerned because I couldn't use the reset button for the start of a challenge. I guess that issue around 3:15 is the exact same thing I experienced. :O
I didn’t like online freeplay when they announced it. I thought it was exceptionally redundant and that it would be a giant mess that people would go, “that’s cool, let’s play this” and then quickly forget about. Similar to how voice chat got fixed, but no one uses it anymore. I feel like resources could’ve been used to adding stuff to the game or focusing on ue5 (if that’s even a real thing anymore)

Why is the offline freeplay map selector still what it is? heres how they can improve it 100fold: First option: Mode Second option: Map (without variations) Third option: Map variation (if available) so instead of scrolling through a million maps and modes all as a separate option to get a change of scenery or practice another mode, you can just idk 1. Soccar 2. Beckwith Park 3. Night Wanna go hoops freeplay on the indoor map? thats 2 clicks now instead of like 40 Could even throw a secondary mutator menu in there so you can play with those and still have the freeplay bindings like pass ball and such
Yo Leth, I have a silly video idea. What if you had a mod that makes everyone's boost randomly used a tiny bit more boost when boosting without gaining speed. I feel like it would be so fun to see everyone freak out when they suddenly don't have enough boost for their play and don't know why
i love this map but have started just quitting it when have to reset because it brings me back to the hub on the first reset then have to reset again to bring me back to the level. its fun to do as a 5 minute thing to warmup but it gets so annoying if i cant do it with 0 deaths

LETH. EPIC. It's happening again. I'm getting placed vs Nexto v3.0 Botters in champ 2/3 they don't talk they probably report and they just wanna kill everyone off. There's also games I'm going into champ 1 NO LAGG whole game. Champ 3 up...? 20 fps max like i'm being full ddossed and hacked or bugged somehow because the opponents all playing same exact way and demoing doing dirty boring plays with no titles they have nearly no skill and I'm so laggy I can't do anything. My game's are trashed, my fun time is wasted. It's boring lowkey because I just want to play normal nice players... And I realise now... It's not the toxic people at fault. It's the lazy Cheaters and Hackers. I honestly don't know anything I don't know what's happening or how they're doing it. I just know they're doing it. I have 9,000 hours on all my accounts. I have no clue what to do? It's unplayable. You just know there is a group of people searching suspicious stuff on google digging into how to ddoss how to hack how to cheat they're doing scummy things because they just want to sell off ssl accounts to their friends or the marketplace or just collect up accounts for alpha boost and stuff like that you just know it... And we've seen these people do the alpha boost glitch it's no co-incidence they used that bug. Sure the Pro's who get all the attention and play other pro's in twitch and kick they obviously play each other a lot in 2000+ mmrs but... that's higher enough for the hackers to get caught before they reach that so we're not actually seeing the real whole picture. There is hackers all over champ 2 - gc3 and they're multiplying numerous people with numerous alt accounts hitting over and over lobby's and getting a high off of it. It's so toxic. So wasteful of such a beautiful mechanical game of skill and patience. I just don't have the power to do anything other than post here... what I believe is happening. And the root of the problem. It's the real problem the bigger fish.
I last used it 2 days ago and it worked normally. Might be your custom training settings in bakkesmod cause that was always a problem since its release.
Was cool for like 2mins until I found a match. Not being able to have ur own ball with its own controls literally makes joining those lobbies w/o being host, pointless. Also, since I'm on PC there's actually a way I have found to pretty much completely avoid smurfs, or boosted lobbies by turning crossplay off. It's complicated, and I can explain why it works if need be, but Online Freeplay doesn't actually work with cross-play off. So that's nice.
No it was not worth it at all. We got a useless game mode that lasted all of 2 seconds and it broke the game more then its already broken. Epic games are just flat out pathetic. They are like a c@n

Fr when I play with my plat friend everytime he puts us in online freeplay, and when I'm going for triple resets he just spawns the ball to him

This would be great for plat to diamond range players. I love Leths training maps, but they are for higher skilled players.

Group freeplay should be default when you're in a party and you should be able to spawn multiple balls. That's easy to fix.
