- Dr. Eng Joseph Siror, Managing Director and CEO Kenya Power: The system that is currently being used is based on 1st January 1993. There is a 24 digit which is stored within the token that is always sent to the customers which is storing the number of minutes from 1st January 1993. The number of those minutes come November this year would have reached the maximum. The moment it moves to the next minute it would appear it has gone back to 1st January 1993 and the meters would reject that

People dont see this thing deeply, post paid won't be affected since only the rich uses the post paid meters while the meddle or poor uses the pre-paid meters. Zakayo is out to ensure the rich gets more richer while the poor more poor.

Also use your data base for on token purchase to know which meters have not updated.....because you know which number buys the token. Just send the mobile numbers sms with update code
What about people in overseas that only use their Kenyan number when in Kenya and won’t be in Kenya for a while?
