Deadbaiting isn’t something I put much time into, I’m more of a lure and fly angler, but saying that, every form of fishing interests me so hopefully we can cover as many fishing methods as possible on the channel!

Hello Ireland! Nice catch! Spring cannot get here soon enough. Appreciate the vids when the weather is sooo cold.
Thanks angela, roll on spring , the fishing improves so much when the lakes and rivers come to life again 🙌
Nice to see a another river vid senan, great content as always, picked up a few bits there, thank you 👍👍
Thanks Pauric, it’s hard looking at a float when all I want to do is throw lures around 😂 nice to do different things though, some buzz when the float dips under 😅👌
Had 5 pike this week using this method. I saw pike coming up for the float on the surface , they must think its a fish maybe with the smell rising.
Nice one Senan, great to see different techniques and I'd say Ivan knows his stuff too.
Sound Kieran, Ivan’s big into the deadbaiting, I’d sooner be chucking lures but it’s nice to mix it up 😂🙏🐊
@@senanstanleyfishing I'm the same Senan...i hardly did any casting last year, all trolling..i want to get into it more..when you get out on lake again will u do a video on casting,please..where to do it?Finding the right spots etc..
Will do Kieran, it’s one of them things the more you do it the more Youl get the hang of if. Finding features that hold fish is the most important part. Drifting over weedbeds and casting slow sink lures can be really effective
@@senanstanleyfishing thanks Senan, I'm learning alot from you're videos.
Enjoyed the session Senan the lake is calling now 🤣
We will be back out after them soon , with some meter+ fish next time 👌😁😎 happy new year 🙌
Great session guys! 🔥👏
Thank you! 👌
Thats a really clever rig that Ivan is using there. I've never seen this approach, the only thing close to this I've done is a sunk float paternoster. Is his float fixed with a stop knot? Thanks, great video.
I just use any rubber bands I have simply knot them on above and below the float, Slide them up or down the line for depth.
Nice to see another video. Great job .
Thanks for watching Chris 🙌
Great stuff senan cant eait for rhe river fishing to pick up 👊🎣
Not long now lad, blink and it will be spring 🙌🎣
Enjoyed this video. Some proper Irish fishing session whilst I am sitting at home with some peat on the fire....
Thanks pal, if we waited for calm sunny weather to go fishing in ireland, we would never get to go fishing 😂🙌🎣
As always quality video. Looking forward more fly fishing wans. Totally different question what make are your wellies. Am after a decent warm pair.
Thanks William, the wellies are dry walker insulated wellies, around the €40/€50 mark I think I can’t really remember maybe cheaper ☺️ Flyfishing tomorrow for rainbows, if the weather allows it 👌
Meant ask how did ye find the sizing with the wellies. Good fit or go up a size down a size.
Same as a shoe to be honest, they come with that thermal sock layer on the inside, unreal for keeping the feet warm
@@senanstanleyfishing ideal thanks. Be a wetsuit be needing this rain doesn't stop 🤣
Nice to see another video💪
Thanks for watching dude 😎🙌
Great video☺️
Thank you
Hey great tip with the shrimping /prawn pin!!! As regards the magic sauce Im a firm believer that although Pike Are sight Hunter they have a great sense of smell I use Gulp Alive juice or Pressed Salomon oil (hich is mainly for the Dogs)
Happy New Year Lads 😃👍🍻🍾 Best regards Smith
Thanks for watching Smith 🙌☺️ I’m the same I’m on the fence as to whether Pike actually care if there’s oil injected into a deadbait, but Ivan has huge faith in it, I guess every little bit of attraction helps especially when the water is slightly coloured after heavy rainfall 😁🎣🤘
Great video lads
Thanks for watching pat 🎣
Hello, what county are you fishing in? I'm just starting my adventure with pikes, could you tell me where to look for them? will you catch something on the dead bait canal?
Hi Damian, I’m fishing all over ireland in these videos, you will find pike in nearly every body of water bar a few, yes dead bait is a popular method on canals 👍
Hi Senan, I was wondering about the trout fishing videos you've been uploading. Why do you tie fluorocarbon line onto your monofilament? Why not just go all fluoro in that case? Or vice versa. By the way I know the season is over for now, just trying to get ideas coming into next season. Love the videos, cheers!
Hey Ronan 👌 no worries bud, one of thr reasons I use the short fleuro leader for trout is really because fleuro is a lot more expensive, being able to get a lot of sessions out of 2 feet of fleuro saves a lot of money when your fishing a lot, there’s no real benefit of having a full spool of it, the mono is super cheap, and easy to replace when there’s some wear and tear. ☺️👌 I’ve also started using thin braid mainline for some of my trout spinning also as it’s more fun playing them on braid , which you’d need the fleuro leader for, the trout would notice the braid in the water ☺️👌
@@senanstanleyfishing thanks for that Senan, makes sense👍🏻
There’s reasons behind the madness 😂👌 but everyone’s got a different way of doing things 🙌
if ur having dropped runs then ur float is prob to heavy.. i use 10-15g floats for fishing with roach/perch as bait (on smaller waters)... 1 ounce floats for sardines.. Its nice to have a big float that u can see well.. but its to big when ur missing half the fish ..
Great information dude 👍 although the floats weight was ok for the side of the perch I had on with the bullet weight, the pike simply didn’t get hooked on the hookset, sometimes the hooks can slip out, I probably should have given the pike a few more seconds to turn the bait in it’s mouth. 👎 great Information though, getting the right size float is very important! 🎣
Have you fished the canal that flows into the shannon harbour?
I don’t think I’ve tried that particular stretch yet, there’s so many little canal stretches along here, it’s hard to get around to them all. 🙌
@@senanstanleyfishing I fished it few months back only had 1 perch chase me in and i missed it😪 going try drop shot after watching your video 💪👌
Good stuff I’m sure you will get them this time 😎👌
nice video ,love your channel ! give me some advice how to grow mine? thank you mate :)
Thank you! Consistent uploads is the only thing I’d suggest to anyone, fishing channels are very slow to grow
