Great job Casey 🙂👍 Like you mentioned, its always best to do research before buying anything. Glad you could get your pickup all fixed up. Have a great Thanksgiving 😁
Dude I had the same issue. 2018 with a clogged heater core. 77k miles. I made my own air/water tool and flushed it. Firstly I made a recirculating system with a 5gal bucket and a pool pump with blue devil flush. I let it run for 3 hours hoping it would brake up the stuff in the heater core. Once that was finished circulating I forced water and air back and forth until nothing came out but clean water. I installed my sinister coolant filter and thought I was good to go. Heater seamed decent at 140° out of the vent. About 2 weeks later my heater was bad again. I boiled 3 gallons of water, got more blue devil and set my recirc system back up. Let that go for about 2 hours then flushed it back and forth with air and water for 2 hours. I got so much crap out of the core, giant flakes of stuff and a lot of grainy bits. Guess the filter sinister advertised isn't that great? Anyway Ive always done the recommended maintaince and kept up on coolant changes since new. Shitty deal for a 54000 dollar truck. Anyways, youll most likely be flushing this truck again.

Thank you for watching and commenting. I have since sold the truck. But I hope it worked for the person who bought it.
Even if that filter only removes some of the sediment, that is some less to clog your heater matrix.
Great Instructions.
Can you list the parts for your air water tool?
Let me see if i can find it.
What size clear hose did you use to fit over the coolant drain plug?
I think is was 1/4 maybe 3/16
Can I use this on my 2012 6.7 Cummins?
I would believe so.
