Agreed. Such a professional RUclipsr, yet less than 4k subs? Ridiculous that people like this don’t have the millions of followers they deserve, but some the most annoying people on RUclips do.

I will never play this game but watching someone so adept explain the game so thoroughly is really wonderful. I wish there were more game playthroughs produced with this level of care and love. Thank you!
Very refreshing to watch a walkthrough where you can really feel the joy you have with the game. Well done on a super chill playthrough with tons of fun trivia!
This was done long ago, but with BG3 about to come out, I'm binging your playthrough to see what Baldur's Gate is all about! I'm grateful to find such a detailed playthrough by someone who's a master at the game and so passionate. Thanks so much for sharing.
I love Baldur's Gate so much, and you gave me so much knowledge about this game, and it's so fun watching you play. now I'm rewatching the whole series again .
Thank you so much! Glad you've enjoyed the playthrough and hopefully it won't be boring the second time :+). I will provide more Infinity Engine content in the future: Icewind Dale is coming up next, after my current run of Diablo 2, and I'll eventually go through both of the Black Pits campaigns from the Enhanced Editions of Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale 2 as well.
I'm loving this start. Have been looking for a good EE let's play, as I come back to Baldur's Gate after a long break. I think your approach is great, and love your attention to detail.
in the original version, when you do the party training fight at candlekeep, the way to keep the items that the temporary companions have was to place the items in your inventory then export your character, start a new game, import your character and the items would be in your inventory
I've pulled up a 78 episode "completionist" walk through for baldur's gate and I'm like, "Yes. This is a way I'm interested in spending free time." I'm definitely autistic.
A valid choice, I hope you enjoy it! And after you're done, you'll have an even better way of spending time - continuing with the BG2 playlist of 177 videos. :+)
@@Mivsan_NT It's been so funny how you do similar tricks that I've discovered and like you feel the need to imitate certain voices in the game, like Silke, for instance 😆
I don't know if anyone already mentioned it but in the basement at Obe's training ground, you can pick two locks of the chests there and get experience for that. Also you can use Deder's Oil of Speed and the effect doesn't wear off after you leave the basement. In the original game, you also got experience for the first group of Gibberlings. And you could (and probably still can, I never tested it) get the companion's items by putting them into your backpack, exporting your character and start the game anew with the exported character.
Not seen the whole thing but at the start during combat training you can drink their oil of speed and just fly through Candlekeep. It also means that you can steal from containers at will, by the time guards show up you've already left the room, so no need to knock out the guy in the inn. :)
I really enjoyed this first session of your playthrough ! You stated that you always disable scripts for your party members as you can't stand having them acting on their own. I tollaly share this point of view : it's far more satisfying to keep a total control of the party. However I usualy end up using one script for the thief of my group. It's the "THIEF CONTROLLED" Script, which just turn on detect trap (or hide in shadow, at your choice) when the thief is in an idle situation, like waiting or walking when not in combat. The script as no interference with combat and will never undo a command. I do like it a lot because after beating the game so many times, I almost know every trap location in the game and I feel my imersion is kinda broken when I only activate find trap just before a trap I know will be there. With that script, it's more like my thief was on edge and found the trap by himself...
Thank you for the suggestion! It definitely makes role-playing sense, the way you explained it. I might give it a try sometime, though I'm afraid my habits will be hard to break. I probably HAVE to control the trap searching, too. :+)
Thank you very much, glad you're enjoying the videos! I'll probably make a separate video with all the different charm interactions at some point (after finishing the whole playthrough) so not all is lost! :+)
The mods are well written but I think the burying part can be silly considering you are on the run as it were and shouldn't stop to do that. But also you stop to take belts from Ogres so...
So I've been playing BG1 since 1998 and although I did do the multiplayer tutorial back then I have never done it since and I did not recognize those two guys when I came back to Candlekeep. For all these years I thought it was some writing mistake where they meant to have me meet them earlier but forgot to put it in. LOL thanks for solving that mystery.
If you start with a full custom party you can surround Jondalar's archer buddy and actually prevent him from walking off, and if your party can deal enough damage quickly you can actually kill him before he despawns. He gives something like 200 XP and drops a long bow, but no arrows (I guess he wields special arrows that do 0 damage), and there's no reputation loss, IIRC. You can alternatively do the same to Jondalar, who gives the same XP but drops nothing.
I started the series over as a Sorcerer. I love all the magic characters, my mc has to have magic at least in baldurs gate 2. Berserker Mage was my first character. Love this game.
14:20 Does it matter who is approached for dialogue for reaction checks? The BG1 manual says on page 20 (=page 12 in the PDF on CD): "Regardless of who is having the dialogue, reaction adjustments will be based on the ‘leader’ of the group. The ‘leader’ is always the top-most character portrait of all the characters that are present in the area." False information?
I found something similar to the Firebead Elvenhair trick that in the start of this video. I use to power level characters by starting a new campaign and killing him, exporting the character and then importing them again with their new Xp. And the NPC does not cause paladins to become fallen if you kill him, and also I think the devs of the game left the potion of clarity upstairs just in-case anyone wanted to fight him. Cause the first two spells he casts are horror spells and the potion of clarity prevent you from being feared.
Yeah, poor Firebead Elvenhair gets killed especially in No-Reload runs, where players often choose to deal with the Reputation penalty, in exchange for the juicy experience and being able to leave Candlekeep at level 2. Then, in Beregost, you can kill him again :+). Your comment about the Potion of Clarity makes sense, of course, especially if you don't want to use any stair tricks to avoid Firebead's spells.
Yeah, in the episodes I will sometimes be already somewhere else with my thoughts and forget about some things but I'll generally get back and complete them eventually (in most cases in the same or next episode). :+)
You CAN take the items of the temporary characters. But you need a LN Mage/sorcerer with find familiar(ferret) and have the familiar pickpocket all of it and hang on to the items until you leave the Building
You can go back to the Candlekeep and talk to the Gatekeeper. He will not let you in, but he will give you 100 gold, and you can ask him to give Gorion proper burial in the Candlekeep. Wey will do that, and when you come back to the area east of Candlekeep, you will meet a cart with Gorion's body. It's better than to dig him in the mud in the middle of nowhere. And BTW, Mivsan, when are you going to make new videos? Asked you already in another my comment under another video, so just kidding here. BUT, every kidding have a piece of truth. We are all waiting for some new cool stuff from you, man. ;)
in regards to little details that serve to enhance the experience: of all the things he could've brought with him, gorion chose the belt of antipodes. was he planning on going somewhere ... cold?
It's just a nooby trap "Wow! My first rare!", even worse as you need to wait until you identify it so the suspense is killing you. Only to find out that it's really situational, even someone who hadn't played the game before will be able to figure out that it's not a good item. Ah well, if it was actually good then it would just make the game easier at the start.
It was great meeting the Chanters the first time I played way back in '98 or so, while there's one the chant that's relevant to the game I also recognized the various other prophecies from novels I'd read, the Time of Troubles, Tuigan horde, the dragon of Cormyr etc. btw you missed 1gp, didn't pick up Shanks dagger. Imoen did have a wand in the old version, not sure if there was a factor determining what she came with but I remember thinking something along those lines back in the day.
I love the chanters as well. I didn't bother with 1gp items like daggers purposefully, not worth the additional clicks :+). I don't remember what I said exactly in the video, but your comment about Imoen made me check what's going on for sure and it turns out that in the classic BG1, only the level 1 version of Imoen has the wand. None of the other versions you can get (especially the other most common one, the level 2 version with 1304 experience) has it. Pretty interesting!
Mivsan_NT thank you man! Learning so much watching this series. There really are levels to this game. I have a weird somewhat personal question though. Are you Scandinavian? I’m trying to place your accent but you almost have none, so it’s hard to pinpoint :D
@@ToTheNines87368 Not weird at all! I'm from Poland. You'll surely see me struggle with some words in later episodes, but I do try to be easy to understand at least. Thanks for the kind words!
@@Mivsan_NT I couldn't place your accent either, and as soon as you said Poland I realised your accent is exactly like my Polish friend's! :) Nice to see the world being consistent. On a more related note: I'm only 15 minutes into episode 01, and I love this playthrough. I had no idea about the nobles locking away their shinies in Candlekeep Inn!
I may be wrong, but in A LOT of tries, I could not open that chest upstair of the Candlekeep inn with less that 60 in open lock skill and my post BG half-ork with 20str could not bash it open either. Also, funny thing is that despite your inability to take something out of the group training area, you can drink potion of speed which is carried by your temporary companion in that place and be under the effects of it through Candlekeep.
Good trick with that oil of speed! Will have to remember to take advantage of that sometime. As for the chest, you need a minimum of 21 strength or 57 open locks to get it open. Just tested it, out of curiosity. :+)
Thanks for those amazing details ! Fun fact : you can also earn a small amount of experience in the group training area if you lock pick the 2 locked chest down there. To maximise it, disband everyone but one thief in the group before lock picking.
I'm late to the party it seems, but I adored your introductory video. I never actually played Baldur's Gate back in the day, would you still recommend the mods you are using for a first timer? I'm not terribly concerned about the added difficulty of SCS, as I've played similar RPG's before and it'd be nice not to face roll the game like I probably would without it. Ive heard some people recommend no mods just so you can see how good the mods are, but I don't see myself replaying them right after the first Playthrough, so I'd like to play them at their best. My plan is to head into Dicibith: Original Sin 1 and 2 after.
Sorry for the late response! Perhaps it is not going to be totally useless. I can definitely recommend the BG1 NPC Project for a first playthrough - it adds so much good stuff and is written extremely in-line with the original game's content. It's going to improve any playthrough significantly. As for SCS, it is a very customizable mod, so if you feel up to it, you can try it out on a first playthrough, perhaps going easy with some of its components (like prebuffs). I'd simply pick and choose whatever sounds fun, instead of going for a full installation, if you've never played the game before, but that's of course up to you. Baldur's Gate is great without mods, but if you don't see yourself replaying it anytime soon, I'd recommend installing those two.
Just got recommended your videos by my brother (he said you're the EpicNameBro of Baldur's Gate -- which is very high praise coming from him). I noticed that in my game (a lot of mods) the graphics are way more "muted" or less saturated almost? The colors are less vibrant in a way. Have you modified the graphics in any way or is it some mod I'm using? New to the Baldur's Gate series, just finished Planescape Torment. Not to be elitist or anything but goddamn do a lot of newer games have to learn from these games, just looking at dragon age makes all the characters and plotpoints seem lobotomized in comparison.
@@harofax7726 Big thanks to your brother for the recommendation, I appreciate the kind words! Glad you've got the colors sorted out and I hope you'll enjoy the playthrough! These first BG1 episodes were my humble beginnings on RUclips, but my commentary and seriousness of approach improves over time. I agree with your last comment as well - I often sound like a grumpy old man, but games nowadays are designed with completely different philosophies in mind, and I greatly prefer the classics from the 90s or early 2000s in most cases. There are exceptions here and there, though, so not all is lost - gotta keep our eyes open for some potential gems :+).
@@Mivsan_NT Yeah I was honestly quite surprised since he NEVER recommends anyone, and has quite the high bar. Love your vids, even the less serious ones. You might not be looking for recommendations but I would love to watch you play x-com ufo defense (not the new ones). There are some really cool mods for them. Might not be up your alley, but they hold up really well still. After Baldur's Gate I went down the crpg rabbithole, trying to get another fix. Only game that captured me in the same way was Disco Elysium. Felt like a true successor to Planescape Torment. Gameplay-wise Pathfinder Kingmaker felt very similar, but the writing & world is nowhere near BG standards. Hope you're doing well man, and happy new years. (also, I'm guessing you're swedish? if so - hej!!!)
@@harofax7726 I'm always open for recommendations - I have the next few playthroughs more or less planned out, but it's always good to have some more choices for the long term. Thank you for your suggestions! I absolutely love the first X-COM - I've done quite a few runs on the openXcom engine (openxcom.org/) a few years ago, using mods like Final Mod Pack, X-Piratez, and the like. I thought loosely about doing a playthrough of it (with a good mod), at some point in the future. Good to see another fan of the game :+). I've had a few requests to do Pathfinder: Kingmaker as well, but I'm hearing about Disco Elysium for the first time - I'll look it up! Happy New Year! I'm from Poland, but we spell the word the same way, therefore - hej! :+)
@@Mivsan_NT No way!!! Dude, you're seriously in for a treat with Disco Elysium - I'm so jealous. No combat to speak of, instead puts all the effort into story and writing. It's the only game that reaches the writing of Planescape imo. It has more dislogue focused skills and RPG systems. It might be my favorite game of all time just due to the quality of the story and writing. Playing through X-COM with the X-COM Files modpack now, apparently the successor to The Final Modpack. Really enjoying it. You start out with two agents and a car, 4 years before the original takes place and slowly build up your power. I've got a VAN now! As for pathfinder, if you do decide to try it, I recommend getting some mods. Closer To Tabletop and Call of the Wild being of special note. You can go crazy with the builds there, not too sure about the story but it isn't noticeably bad at least. If you like tabletop dnd then you'll feel right at home I'll tell ya. Also man, I was so sure you were from Sweden due to your accent! This is probably misspelled but Fibre wielczor?? Wielcor? Good evening?
Hey Miv, um, just had a question. Totally understand if this gets lost and ya can’t reply. But have you ever thought of doing a guide on Neverwinter Nights? Don’t really see many good playthroughs of it! Love this btw!
Hey, thank you for the kind words and sorry for the late response! I'm not a big fan of Neverwinter Nights, unfortunately (especially the original campaign). I'll keep your feedback in mind, though, and perhaps someday I could do the Shadows of Undrentide -> Hordes of the Underdark storyline. We'll see!
Man, I was actually looking forward actually watching this playthrough, actually. It looks actually really interesting actually and intriguing, but actually all I could hear once I actually started watching this, actually, was... actually, actually, actually, actually, actually, actually, actually, actually, actually, actually, actually, actually, actually, actually, actually, actually, actually, actually, actually, actually, actually, actually... I am actually not mentally ready for this, actually. Nope. 🤣
Isnt there an old wizard guy with a red hat, that appears along the pathway in that first outdoor area, and offers some advice? Always suspected that it was Eliminster.
You'd got second potion of healing if you would return Firebead's scroll. I guess beamdog figured out that too many players did not return their scrolls. I tried to factcheck about Firebead, but resources of the game are complicated. He is 11 lvl elven "mage" (game resources defines him as lawful-neutral flaming fist). So his protection from evil is... like 3.5 turns? Helpful only if you instantly go to fight Carbos and Shank. Your videos is my first encounter with SCS, and I can't say I like what the mod did with Carbos and Shank. Lorewise, they're just couple of wannabe cool guys, not assassins who capable of poisoning their weapon.
I did return his scroll and got his potion, which I completely forgot to mention in the video. For some reason, I've always had it ingrained in my mind that all he does is cast the spell and give 50 exp, but he does of course also give the potion of healing (which I didn't notice back in the day until later and I guess it stayed that way). Thanks for clarifying!
This is my first time seeing the npc mod. I have seen it talked about and praised to high heaven's, but after seeing what they did to Montaron, I am convinced it's just bandwagon. He's not some babbling idiot that can't say a full word. Even when they wrote it they would have known he doesn't fucking talk that. That very dialog is on the same god damn screen you find him on. I tried giving it the benefit of the doubt after the way Imoen was written didn't sit well with me. Blamed myself. Montaron proved without a shadow of a doubt, the writer is just really, really terrible. That mod eats shit by the handful, and I hope it isn't too invasive in the rest of the game. PS Montaron isn't a god damn hick.
The mod was written by a group of authors and I think it shows. My biggest gripe is the way they wrote Kivan (consistent with how he's written in the BG2 mod "Kivan and Deheriana", by one of the authors), though it's more an issue of a difference of the modder's vision for him, compared to how I imagined his character, rather than a lack of quality. It's also true that they give some heavy accents to the members of the shorty races. The mod is not without flaws, but I still value it highly; it has a lot of great stuff to offer - many interjections and reactions that make sense (particularly related to antagonists that some of our companions met in the past, like Tranzig, Tazok or Rieltar), many good banters and conversations, some of which allow for different outcomes in certain situations (the conflict between Aldeth and Seniyad's druids in Cloakwood, for example) or reference what happens later on in the Saga (like Imoen's curiousity for magic). Perhaps if you keep watching, you'll see something you might like. And even if not, the mod's content doesn't take much screen time, as I usually click through the conversations, allowing a bit of time for the viewers to pause and read in detail, if they wish to.
I consider 1.3. to be the peak of EE's quality - it retains the feel and atmosphere of the originals while providing some minor tweaks here and there to smooth out the experience. I don't like most of 2.0.'s features and changes (+ it broke mods and introduced a lot of bugs). I've talked about it a little in my introductory episode #00 - there's a timestamp in the description of that video, if you'd like to know more about it.
Ah ok. It's just looking at the patch notes from 2.1 to the current version (2.3 I think) there are tons of fixes to the game, presumably stuff that's broken in 1.3. I've just started a playthrough without any mods so will probably stick with the current version. I'll check out more of your vids, you certainly know the game well.
A lot depends on the game's version. Steam does indeed make it a little more problematic for versions 2.0.+. I have a video tutorial for installing mods that might help, available here: ruclips.net/video/hOQpbYsKlos/видео.html
You know the game well... I dont like the tone of the NPC Project interjections. For instance Imoen joking about Gorion's death. I remember now I tried it years ago and uninstalled it for that reason.
Thanks! Where does Imoen joke about Gorion's death, though? Her recruitment dialogue is from the original game and BG1 NPC Project actually gives us an opportunity to give Gorion a proper burial, which is a really nice touch. Imoen is chatty in the beginning, but the frequency of her interjections goes down after these early stages.
@@Mivsan_NT Hi Mivsan. About Imoen and the NPC Project; At 40.30 for instance she says they are "....startin' out on a grand adventure, avenging that great mage and all" To my perception that is not how a normal person really in the situation would talk about Gorion the morning after he was murdered. It is far to jaunty and slapstick for me. And the rest of that comment is even worse imo and sounds like it is coming from the wrong side of the 4th wall....a amateur writer trying to be funny basically. At that moment in the game world and story the Hero and Imoen are in shock and grieving a catastrophe; and they are fleeing for their lives and trying to find help. It's not a time for joking and slapstick humor. I realize these are matters of perception and preference and I am just giving my perception.
@@david8157 Ah, now I have a better idea of what you meant. Yeah, I suppose some of her early interjections could be understood like that. Still, if you decide to watch some more episodes of the playthrough, perhaps you'll change your opinion about the BG1 NPC Project as a whole. It contains a lot of great ideas and offers plenty of quality content.
@@Mivsan_NT I really dislike cheesy writing in games or movies. For example I loved the first Trilogy of the Lord of the Rings but I didn't like the second...mostly because of the cheesy slapstick treatment given to the dwarfs; and also applied to many of the special effects action sequences. For me it broke the immersion and devalued the story. The first trilogy maintained a high seriousness...it didn't play for gags or laughs. The Lord of the Rings is supposed to be a dark & serious tale....so is Baldur's Gate. But anyway I might do as you suggest and give it a chance. Can I remove it from a game in progress....or would I have to start over? Do its changes get baked into your save and cause issues if you remove it?
@@david8157 I know what you mean. However, it's Imoen we're talking about. She's supposed to be happy-go-lucky, jolly and cheerful to the point of being able to push back some really dark and powerful influences to the deepest recesses of her soul (not sure how spoilery I should be here about BG2's storyline). There are many serious characters in BG, whose personalities were expanded exactly in that way in the NPC Project - the mod doesn't lack serious content. I'm not a fan of how they wrote every companion and that's to be expected (I have a different vision for Kivan, for example), but Imoen is pretty in line of how she appears in the game. Her voiced lines include her asking you to tell a story about trollops and plug tails or talking about Puffguts (her nickname for Winthrop), after all. There's quite a bit of humour in the BG Saga in general - it's always nicely spaced out and given in reasonable doses, though. BG1 NPC Project heavily modifies the dialog.tlk file. Every mod that does it, is going to leave the game with plenty of faulty conversations after removing. It's a commitment for a full playthrough, I'm afraid. In your situation, it might be best to just leave the mod for a different run, if you ever feel inspired to try it out. It's not a mod for everyone. I was just pointing out why I love it. There's simply a lot of good stuff in it, even if some of the characters are not as you imagined them up to be (like the aforementioned Kivan, in my case).
I did clear the basilisk area with the help of Korax (though not solo or too early on - I didn't want to powerlevel) and I killed Drizzt in a bonus episode, but again, not to take his loot but just to show it off.
I think it works out better RP-wise for them not to be related (I'm not sure if you know the story of the game, so don't want to spoil it). They are close, childhood friends, being almost like sisters in practice.
I don't remember what I said exactly in the video, but I did some research on it a while ago, and it turns out that in the classic BG1, only the level 1 version of Imoen has the wand. None of the other versions you can get (especially the other most common one, the level 2 version with 1304 experience) has it. In the EE, all versions of Imoen come with the wand. Pretty interesting, although not much of a difference in most people's experience, like you mention.
Thank you! The mods I used have been updated to work with the newest versions of BG:EE, but: 1. BG2 Tweaks is now known as Tweaks Anthology; 2. If you have a Steam or GoG version of BG:EE with SoD, you'll have to use a utility like Modmerge or DLC Merger first. I also have a tutorial on installing mods that might be useful to check out: ruclips.net/video/hOQpbYsKlos/видео.html
Yeah, going back to these humble beginnings, the difference is certainly noticeable. After the first episodes, the commentary steadily gets better, though!
I see that you have deel knowledge about this game. But I don't. So if you may want to inform me about the THAC0 in this game I would very much appreciate it. Because I have received several responses through you tube but I didn't understand. And sites doesn't help lmao. Thanks in advance.
THAC0 is essentially your chance to hit with physical attacks. The lower the number, the better it is. More details: THAC0 stands for "To Hit Armor Class 0". It's based on a roll of a 20-sided die (d20) and the relation between the attacker's THAC0 and the target's Armor Class (AC). The formula to determine whether an attack is going to be successful is: To-hit number = THAC0 - AC For example, if the attacker has 15 THAC0 and the target has an AC of 2, the attacker needs to roll at least a 13 to hit. That's an 8/20 chance or 40%. Regardless of THAC0 and AC, a roll of 1 is always a miss (critical miss) and a roll of 20 is always a hit (critical hit dealing double damage). The thing that's sometimes confusing is that in this edition of AD&D, both THAC0 and AC are better when their values are lower. They changed it in the 3rd edition of D&D, where both your "to hit bonus" and Armor Class are better as their values rise.
I’m kind of interested too, but I don’t think he’ll intentionally explain how to get many trophies since he’s playing the PC version. He did say he’s going to attempt every quest though, so that will help earn most of them. Also, he did say he’s only playing Good alignment, and a few trophies require playing a bit evil, such as the one for creating a Fallen Paladin or Druid.
Not likely since he’s playing on PC and never mentions it. However, if you follow his steps to complete all the quests, you’ll unlock both the “Completionist” and “On My Own” achievements by the time he leaves Candlekeep.
Why did you create a random character if nobody in all the trilogy will not recognize her? It`s like a cheating in the best role-playing game with a brilliant story. She is a ghost in baldur`s gate saga. It ruins atmosphere, is it not? I really don`t understand this.

Hope you'll enjoy the rest of the videos and have a great time with your own playthrough as well!
I'm loving this start. Have been looking for a good EE let's play, as I come back to Baldur's Gate after a long break. I think your approach is great, and love your attention to detail.
This is such a great series. I started at Bg2 but realized it's so awesome that I'm actually going back to here and 00
Thank you so much and have fun watching!
Same here!
Ahh, i just love this series. Starting to rewatch it atm. Thanks so much for your effort, sir!
Now going to start to watch this masterpiece of a compendium!
Sweet! Hope you'll have fun and enjoy the rest of the videos!
in the original version, when you do the party training fight at candlekeep, the way to keep the items that the temporary companions have was to place the items in your inventory then export your character, start a new game, import your character and the items would be in your inventory
Such an amazing game. Really glad I found your channel, you're the man!
Man, your like...
A 100% person and it’s really awesome to see this stuff!
Wish we could see that 100% charm thing tho!
Thank you very much, glad you're enjoying the videos!
I'll probably make a separate video with all the different charm interactions at some point (after finishing the whole playthrough) so not all is lost! :+)
*you're
The mods are well written but I think the burying part can be silly considering you are on the run as it were and shouldn't stop to do that.
But also you stop to take belts from Ogres so...
Thank you for not reading all text. Summaries are best.
There are 2 chests in the illusion fight arena you can open for a minor amount of experience, they even give you a thief npc to do it.
18:10 - actually if you have a mage you can pickpocket items with a familiar, smuggle out and retrieve items by talking to your familiar outside
Great work! Looking forward the next one
Thank you, glad you've enjoyed it!
Hope you'll have a good time with the rest of the videos.
18 Charisma makes simps out of all.
Thurston and Luvy are from Gilligan's Isle TV show.
24:30 - in 2.6 in order to raise reputation you need 700gp rather than measly 100
You can alternatively do the same to Jondalar, who gives the same XP but drops nothing.
this is my 3rd time watching this
I started the series over as a Sorcerer. I love all the magic characters, my mc has to have magic at least in baldurs gate 2. Berserker Mage was my first character. Love this game.
Belt of antipode is useful to keep against winter wolves for winter wolf pelt quest
14:20 Does it matter who is approached for dialogue for reaction checks? The BG1 manual says on page 20 (=page 12 in the PDF on CD): "Regardless of who is having the dialogue, reaction adjustments will be based on the ‘leader’ of the
group. The ‘leader’ is always the top-most character portrait of all
the characters that are present in the area." False information?
After killing the rats in the warehouse, if you talk to the dwarf standing outside again, you get some experience and money.
My mistake.. You got it later in the play through.
Yeah, in the episodes I will sometimes be already somewhere else with my thoughts and forget about some things but I'll generally get back and complete them eventually (in most cases in the same or next episode). :+)
"completionist"?
@@Mivsan_NT
If you enter the house to kill the illusionary monsters, you do get experience points at one time for every monster you kill.
You CAN take the items of the temporary characters.
But you need a LN Mage/sorcerer with find familiar(ferret) and have the familiar pickpocket all of it and hang on to the items until you leave the Building
Does that 'abuse' still work in EE? Ah, good old times
Knock him the…ffff…FRICK out” 😂
You can go back to the Candlekeep and talk to the Gatekeeper. We are all waiting for some new cool stuff from you, man. ;)
in regards to little details that serve to enhance the experience:
of all the things he could've brought with him, gorion chose the belt of antipodes.
was he planning on going somewhere ... cold?
Good observation. The belt makes about as much sense as quite a few other EE additions :+). Although there are some good ones, too!
Old people are always cold.
@@Mivsan_NT Why the Imeon lv2 version more popular ? It's is that common to leave Candlekeep at lv 2 ?
Perfect knock-down of the noble 😂
Goddamnit now I have to start another adventure myself. Such great and enjoyable content, even if the main character dont fit my dumb head canon . xD

Glad you enjoy the videos and happy to see another person inspired to play BG again. Hope you have lots of fun with your playthrough!
Mivsan_NT thank you man! Learning so much watching this series. There really are levels to this game.
I have a weird somewhat personal question though. Are you Scandinavian? I’m trying to place your accent but you almost have none, so it’s hard to pinpoint :D

14:55 Didn't you just take an antidote potion from Hull's chest?
why does your walking animations look so smooth? I am also using the BG:EE on Windows 10 and the animation of my characters walking is very choppy.
3:00 oh thats an old dev cheat left in the game

*I made Imoen a Kensai/Mage/Cleric using EE-keeper.* (I play as a Kensai/Mage/Thief).
Nevermind I'm stupid, it was the difference between monitors...

Isnt there an old wizard guy with a red hat, that appears along the pathway in that first outdoor area, and offers some advice? Always suspected that it was Eliminster.
He's going to make an appearance in the next episode :+).
Just got this game on steam a week ago and now I have my own " cheat sheet " hahahahaha
Dang, that's a lot of free gold at the start.
Nice to see that charisma has some uses early on.
Why did you choose version 1.3 instead of 2.x?
I'll check out more of your vids, you certainly know the game well.
sorry if u already answered this but is this with a mod? it looks so much better than i remember
It's enhanced edition

That NPC Project looks like kind of a cool mod, I don't think I can install it though....looks like a pain because I bought the game on Steam....
A lot depends on the game's version. Steam does indeed make it a little more problematic for versions 2.0.+.
I have a video tutorial for installing mods that might help, available here: ruclips.net/video/hOQpbYsKlos/видео.html
@@Mivsan_NT Sweet....thanks, and will def give it a watch!
@@Mivsan_NT
Hi Mivsan.
@@Mivsan_NT
I really dislike cheesy writing in games or movies.
Did you do korrax-basilisk farm xp? And kill drizzt?
I did clear the basilisk area with the help of Korax (though not solo or too early on - I didn't want to powerlevel) and I killed Drizzt in a bonus episode, but again, not to take his loot but just to show it off.
@Mivsan_NT for role play are your characters sisters, are you had no mind in creating these characters?Just starting the series 👍
I think it works out better RP-wise for them not to be related (I'm not sure if you know the story of the game, so don't want to spoil it).
They are close, childhood friends, being almost like sisters in practice.
Uh....imoen always came with a wand of magic missiles. Thats not a recent edition, it was in the game when I bought it in 1998
I don't remember what I said exactly in the video, but I did some research on it a while ago, and it turns out that in the classic BG1, only the level 1 version of Imoen has the wand. None of the other versions you can get (especially the other most common one, the level 2 version with 1304 experience) has it. In the EE, all versions of Imoen come with the wand. Pretty interesting, although not much of a difference in most people's experience, like you mention.
will this mod work with the current verison also great videos man
Thank you!
The mods I used have been updated to work with the newest versions of BG:EE, but:
1. BG2 Tweaks is now known as Tweaks Anthology;
2. If you have a Steam or GoG version of BG:EE with SoD, you'll have to use a utility like Modmerge or DLC Merger first.
I also have a tutorial on installing mods that might be useful to check out: ruclips.net/video/hOQpbYsKlos/видео.html
@@Mivsan_NT awesome thank you :)
the tone of your voice has vastly improved by current episodes
Yeah, going back to these humble beginnings, the difference is certainly noticeable. After the first episodes, the commentary steadily gets better, though!
I see that you have deel knowledge about this game. But I don't. So if you may want to inform me about the THAC0 in this game I would very much appreciate it. Because I have received several responses through you tube but I didn't understand. And sites doesn't help lmao. Thanks in advance.
THAC0 is essentially your chance to hit with physical attacks. The lower the number, the better it is.
More details:
THAC0 stands for "To Hit Armor Class 0". It's based on a roll of a 20-sided die (d20) and the relation between the attacker's THAC0 and the target's Armor Class (AC). The formula to determine whether an attack is going to be successful is:
To-hit number = THAC0 - AC
For example, if the attacker has 15 THAC0 and the target has an AC of 2, the attacker needs to roll at least a 13 to hit.
@@Mivsan_NT Thank you SO much. Now I finally get it
Do i get all trophies following this playthrough?
I’m kind of interested too, but I don’t think he’ll intentionally explain how to get many trophies since he’s playing the PC version. He did say he’s going to attempt every quest though, so that will help earn most of them. Also, he did say he’s only playing Good alignment, and a few trophies require playing a bit evil, such as the one for creating a Fallen Paladin or Druid.
@Misvan_NT You are making your choices too fast. Even at .5 playback speed you can't tell what choices you are making.
Dunno if I even want to talk to my NPCs. My charisma is low so everyone is needlessly dickish to me.
If I follow this playthrough I'll get all achievements?
Not likely since he’s playing on PC and never mentions it. However, if you follow his steps to complete all the quests, you’ll unlock both the “Completionist” and “On My Own” achievements by the time he leaves Candlekeep.
Monty, the best thief in the game cannon fodder? Ye goody-goodies make me sick! Not a playthrough for me
How is Monty better than coran?
Why did you create a random character if nobody in all the trilogy will not recognize her? It`s like a cheating in the best role-playing game with a brilliant story. She is a ghost in baldur`s gate saga. It ruins atmosphere, is it not? I really don`t understand this.
He clearly said in episode 0 he wanted to showcase 2 different classes. Not sure how that’s so incredibly difficult for you to understand
full party of randoms ruins it all. especially for the first playthrough. 1 or even 2 random characters in the party - it's fine.
31:51 hahaha that EE quest log dude XD
