Dear Emma! I am Austrian and I really love your videos! Not even that they changed my whole style and made my outfits more clean, simple and chic, but what I wanted to tell you is that I love the way you talk. Your accent is so nice, your voice is so pleasant to listen to and I like your English so much, especially when you give recommendations or tips. I wish you all the best for your channel, for the festive days and please continue like this, I love it!😊
Being a Canadian, I am no stranger to the art of layering come winter, and that absolutely includes my feet. Those lambswool insoles have been a game changer for me since I started using them maybe 5 yrs ago now? Most of my boots and a few of my sneakers are a half size larger so that I can have some air circulation and those insoles with thinner but all natural fibre socks on. My feet have never been warmer and drier. As the lambskin wears down over time, I keep them and put them in my ballet flats and loafers come spring (or in fall) which cushions them nicely to make them more walking friendly and I don’t have to wear socks if I don’t want to. They’re fantastic.
Another great video. Thank you. Love an influencer who does videos under 20 mins otherwise I feel like half my life goes by watching those long ones! Hence I always watch yours…..and still get loads from them x
You are one of my fav RUclipsrs. I always look to you for advice as I build my luxury collection. I just purchased the same one in *suluxy* . Keep up the great
Monica Vinader are SO great, the prices are affordable during sales, their returns are 90days, warranty is 5 years no questions asked. The designs are contemporary and dare I say edgy in some pieces. I love their siren pieces the most, in green onyx and moonstone ❤️
You are one of my fav RUclipsrs. I always look to you for advice as I build my luxury collection. I just purchased the same one in *suluxy* . Keep up the great
Great tips here thanks Emma. Yes I completely agree about the sizing up in boots. As an older lady, over time my feet have gone up half a size, and getting comfy in boots can be a problem, but your inner sole trick is a great solution…works for me. Merry Christmas Emma, Simon and the fur babies x
Thank you Emma, I really enjoy listening to you for many reasons: wonderful style, super practical tipps and this joyful words, it looks like you have fun making the videos and I watching them - win, win… merry Christmas from Vienna, Nina
I bought the fleecy, but sheer looking, tights after watching one of your recent vlogs. They are excellent! I've bought a pair for my sister as a Christmas present as she feels the cold quite badly. She often has to wear a smart skirt suit for work and is always complaining her office is cold in the winter. These will be ideal for her - thank you so much for the tip! A very happy Christmas and lots of love to you, Simon and the Bs. Xxx❤
Hi Emma. Those thermal tights are amazing as you wouldn’t know they were lined at all! There were some great tips in today’s video but to be honest, it rarely gets very cold here in Greece and as yet,I’ve only been wearing my trench and blazers! However, you can never be too complacent about the weather these days! ❤️❄️🎄
Emma, since my childhood, I was always told to size up whenever buying boots and, sometimes, sport sneakers, just because cotton sport socks are thicker. Bought some high boots today, sized up, but listening to your advice now, just amazing! Thank you for your vlogs, your advice, for being who you are! XO 🙏💖
Merry Christmas ! I forgot one of my most beloved snood on the bus. Now I always do that if I am taking off my scarf or snood and don’t have a big enough bag and if I have taken off my coat, I always put the scarf in one of the coat’s sleeve. This way I never forget it. And if I keep my coat on (I.e on a bus) I always tie my scarf around my handbag. I have always worn thermals (French brand Damart) and now Uniqlo. I.m surprised when people don’t know about them. I am also a half size in shoes and completely understand the issue 😅
Yes!! I was never a bag person before. But realized that when I had a bag with me I never lost any gloves, scarves or other assessories!! So now I have several bags and adding more to my collection!! Happy Christmas Emma!
I love that you jumped right in without faffing around. Very practical advice. I'm already a Uniqlo Thermal avid proponent, and as you said, with "age" I decided to size up when it comes to footware as I'm also one of the halfsizers. But for me it was because I hate feeling constricted or foot pain. The other tips relating to the bag and sheepskin soles were very new and informative so thank you ever so much! New subbie here :)!!
Love love Heateach. Always the most essentials when we travel to Europe. Thank you for the throughly compare the Uniqlo heatech video you did. 👍🏼 Tip: sizing up boots, really TRUE!! 30 years after… hahah
Great layers Emma, I wear those feet heater socks in winter ,always go up a size in boots ,nice thick and warm socks. A dry cold week to come thankfully after the storm. Enjoy ,xx
These were some great tips. I ordered the fleece lined tights already, because I love to wear dresses in the winter. I didn't even know there was such a thing. The boot tip was awesome, although I figured it out by myself after buying several pairs of my regular size and then boot socks didn't work because your boot is too tight, but I have never heard anyone else say that until this video. Of course, I wish I knew that a long time ago. I just found your channel and I look forward to more content from you,
Merry Christmas to you and yours, Emma!!! ❤ Sometimes I just don’t want to wear a thermal top, and I also don’t need the extra bulk and warmth of a fleece or puffer vest. So, I have a few thick knitted vests - the kind that can be worn open or buttoned up. So easy to remove if you start to get warm. It’s hard to find such a vest that looks stylish, but it can be done. Some restaurants are so warm that, when taking off my coat, I just take off the vest with it and they go on the same hanger.
I always thought that thermals were for old men 😂😂😂. I have some thick stockings, which I wore under ski pants last December and again in February. I don't live in a climate that gets snow so I don't think about these things 😂. But this morning it was 4 degrees Celsius 😮 which for where I live is very cold and unusual 🥶🥶🥶🥶. I only got my gloves out yesterday, 9 December, I haven't needed them yet. I think that I might look for the sheep skin insoles, they sound like a great idea 💡😊👍
Yes thermal is a must when you’re going to outdoor activities. If you like going to Christmas Markets etc. Primark Pennys do reasonably price. I like ones with the high neck too. They can get warm indoors so i don’t wear them just going to family dinners in homes. I only wear a long dress on special occasions with thermal tights. Just came across thermal neck warmers which are great to cover your face from the cold. Your jewellery i wonder if you still wear the Missoma brand which i got into after watching your reviews on them. I am a silver girl and earrings hopes with the hidden closure is great for sleeping aswell nothing poking at you.
Thermal neck warmers are a game changer 🙌 I stopped wearing Missoma a few years ago as the styles become a little too boho for me and didn't really suit my style anymore 👍
I bought thermals various weights and colours from Marks and spencers many many years ago when i started using a bus daily.most are going strong .i have a green leaf pattern which i throw a cardigan over no one knows its thermal
Hi Emma. Love the video. Can you post a link for the thick cosy tights you wear that look like normal tights when you are wearing them please. Thank you and Merry Christmas x
Hi, thank you for all your great tips! Do you also size up your winter pants since you layer thermal leggings underneath it? Not sure if I should have a separate set of pants to wear for winter ?😅
I don't specifically for the thermals as they are so lightweight that they don't really make a difference, although depending on the actual style I may size up anyway if I want a looser fit 👍
Enjoyed your video! Practical question regarding thermals: They feel so lovely during the cold walk to train, but once I get to my destination, I’m roasting! Do you slip them off at a restaurant, etc. while you’re there? Or is there a trick I’m missing?
I normally keep mine on unless I am going to be somewhere warm for a long period of time, but you can of course slip them off and pop them in your bag, especially if you were at work for the day and the office was nice and warm. Then before you leave again, pop them back on 👍
Great video. I love uniqlo clothes, but their website and customer service in the uk is terrible. I sent 2 items of clothing back in the same parcel and only got refunded for 1! Buyer beware. Is there anywhere else that does good thermal wear?
I don't know why they changed their website, it's not very user friendly 🤦♀️ I haven't personally had any issues with returns but I'm sorry to hear your experience wasn't great. Hopefully if you can reach their customer service team they can sort this for you 🤞
@EmmaHill thanks, hopefully. Trust pilot is full of bad reviews for uniqlo for a reason. Its a real shame as the quality and price of the clothes is great!
I have a mixed experience with Monica Vinader. Most of my gold pieces ate peeling off after just one year, the rings look soooo bad(((( Silver and rose gold are better. So I have to send three pieces to repair just only a year of wear.
Unfortunately the longevity of gold vermeil is dependent on the acidity of your skin, how moist it gets and any products you use (body lotion, body wash etc). So it may just be that you have slightly more acidic skin and that affects the vermeil a lot quicker but at least you have the option of their Repair and Rewear as many other brands that make gold vermeil jewellery don't offer that x
@ i don’t think, that the problem is what you describe, because I don’t lotion my hands during daytime and the gold vermeil scratched off on the outside, nit inside, plus the rings are far away from the watch. The bracelet peeled of near the closure, so It’s just bad quality. My parents happen to specialise in precious metals and they confirmed, that it’s just bad quality. I just would not buy any gold vermeil from MV anyone.
@@sestricaanutka I discovered and started wearing MV pieces more than a decade ago since I adored the designs and love the business ethos. I've learned the hard way since then - after spending thousands there - that the gold vermeils are problematic. I have had many pieces that I barely wore, and just sitting in my very nice jewelry box, they discolored with darkish purple/brown spots over time, including a not inexpensive champagne diamond bracelet. Of note, I live in a dry climate. I do appreciate that they let you swap things out without a lot of fuss, but I no longer wanted to buy any gold vermeil from them, yet had $2k worth of vouchers 😂 So I said, OK, I'll buy MV for silver and now 14k gold pieces only... thankfully they are bringing out more 14k as time passes. The silver does get banged up pretty easily but at least it's not discolored. As a woman in my 40s, if I could give advice to younger women, it's to save your money for just a few pieces of high quality jewelry - it's worthwhile. I could have a couple of Cartier bracelets for all of the money I spent on MV. Also the prices for MV pieces are pretty high for what you are getting - I learned to only ever buy it at no less than 40% off. I think that if you do this and can then swap out eventually, it's not a bad deal, since you also have the benefit of replacing with something newer that you might like more.
@abbycatherine8135 Cartier is not worth the money either. My parents are scientists and specialise in precious stones and metals, so they can advise on any alloy on earth, and they always say that Cartier and similar brands are overpriced by almost 50 times. It's just like luxury leather brands.
@@sestricaanutkaAbsolutely, I can't argue with that. I was just trying to make the point that, rather than buy gold plated jewelry, I think one is better off buying fine jewelry (designer or otherwise). It must have been interesting to have scientists for parents!
Hi, thanks for the video! Does anyone else watching from Germany have the problem of only hearing some weird generated German voice-over? I cant turn it off for the hell of it… :(
Apparently if you go to settings on the top right of the video and voice track you can turn it off from there by selecting English original 👍 Unfortunately it is a new feature generated by RUclips and something we are unable to turn off from our end 🙈
Thank you so much! Found the setting and finally hearing your voice again. Don‘t know what RUclips‘s thinking… not a useful option at all. Anyways, I‘m off enjoying your video now. 🥰
