Hi! New subscriber here, I am fascinated by vintage scarves. I have learned a lot in the past, but these days google is not so forthcoming with company histories. I knew a bit about Jacqmar, but was trying to find out when they began manufacturing again, and when did their scarves begin to be made in China...I suppose I am humbly requesting an in depth story about one of my favourite scarf brands? :D x
I've done a Jacqmar episode, one of my earlier ones -- but always assumed they were made in UK! I believe they started in the 30s but will double check and will revisit, I'd like to do one specially on their propaganda scarves, thanks so much for commenting!
@@OnceUponaScarf Oh, I'm sorry, I did look through your earlier videos for one on Jacqmar before I wrote my message, obviously I need to look again :) I also thought they were made in the UK, but I recently found one that says 'made in China' and I was trying to fathom the date it may have been made. when I first learned of Jacqmar I believe they were no longer being made, but then due to the popularity of the scarves they began manufacturing again, but I am by no means an expert. I shall look again for your earlier video, and look forward to all your upcoming videos, thank you so much for taking the time to reply to me x
@@whirlygig9748 am happy to! About a year ago I spoke with someone involved with the current reincarnation of the brand (may have been a family member?). He said the archives no longer exist! I have no idea if this is actually the case or not but what a shame if true. Perhaps they are currently manufacturing in China? Hmm . . .
I enjoyed your video on Jacqmar, inspiring! I've recently been given a Silver Jubilee one designed by Lesley Smith and wanted to know more about the company and your info was very interesting especially regarding the propaganda and arty ones. I'll be keeping a look out for them!
I have a rather pointy skull with a flat back and super slippery hair with a hairline that starts waaaay back do nothing casually gracefully holds on my hair unless I put a metric ton of pins in it that picture of Frieda khalo reminds me I don't braid stuff into my hair often enough I don't really have the best squares for my taste I guess, most of my scarfs are too light or have a centre motif that I dislike (I have one in the most gorgeous vibrant blue but the centre is of a leopard and I quite dislike animal prints)
I always appreciate your chic and classy style videos, Christa, and I love your message to experiment and have fun!

wearing a scarf on your head takes a lot of trial and error i think! Let me know if you hit on a style that you really like.
