    Just bought myself a 2018 300 L for my birthday today (10/08/18). Pretty much loaded minus the V8 HEMI. I’m coming from a 2006 300C (hemi). I thought I would miss the hemi terribly but, this v6 is actually not bad at all. I absolutely love this car. Large touchscreen display, sunroof, leather seats, power everything, GAP included. Only 8 miles at purchase. Very satisfied customer.

      Does it come without the sunroof? (not sure why people like those, but...to each his/her own).

      For you to have a hemi to a v6 and be satisfied with it , says a lot , that v6 must be very good and solid

    Own a 2013 C, all the bells and whistles, and it's the plushest couch on four wheels you can imagine. Had a loaner 2018 AWD and the suspension is much tighter, more nimble, better handling but not nearly the cruiser as the previous gen. And though basically the same 3.6L engine as the '13, the 2018 engine isn't quite up to par, IMO. Still, it's the prettiest, most gangsta American sedan on the road today.

    I own a Black 2018 300C with the Hemi. I find this is the best overall luxury sports sedan I've ever owned. The Hemi gives it solid performance and a great sounding exhaust. The 20" rims gives it a lower look and adds to the overall appearance of the 300C. Thanks for sharing your road test. It's a Great car. I should add. I drove the V6 version but after driving the 300C with the Hemi. The 300C was not only an attractive, roomy sedan full of technology. But added the performance I was looking for.

    • @LlyleHunter
      @LlyleHunter 6 лет назад +2

      One of the things that made it so great is that the chassis was derived from the early 2000's E Class with the mechanical suspension pieces coming from both the E and S Class parts bins. Best thing is that you don't have to maintain a Benz to do it. It's not the same but it's a solid and dynamic handling interstate cruiser with a great ride and considering it's competetition, it's in a class of its own.

    I have a 2014 300s and LOVE IT!!! I've been seeing video and reading blogs that are saying that 2019 is the last year for the 300. Sad news. It seems the automobile companies think that everyone wants suv's and pickup trucks. I Can't believe that Chrysler is shelving the 300. I'll be buying another one to put in storage and only drive occasionally. The 2014 is the second 300 I've owned. I had a 2007 and loved that car also and was looking forward to driving only 300's for the remainder of time.but short of always having one in storage I don't know if I'll always have one. I'm definitely going to try tho. Just as a footnoteif the maker of this video reads this you may want to try not.talking about how the car looks.so much. For the first 3 minutes or so of the video I think you said looks 3-4 dozen times. We can see how it looks. Tell us sometj2aboit the car. It IS a review after all.

    Just got a blue 2017 AWD V6 with linen interior. The 8 speed is so different than the old 3 speeds. Plenty of pickup, handles really well, and hugs the corners. Quiet and comfortable ride! Backup camera makes so much difference when parking. Last car I had of this quality was a blue 1965 Oldsmobile Jetstar 1, light blue interior, 425 cu.in/370 HP. Family in between that one and this one. Smiling while I drive now.

    I own the v8 hemi. Dont let anyone tell you otherwise. A v6 will never compare. It accelerates quickly and quietly. Everything is effortless. And I get 19-22 city and 25-30 highway. It's a heavy car and it needs that boost

  • @MickPsyphon

    As nice as that Pentastar V6 is, there's no comparison with the HEMI. Chrysler needs to not only continue offering the HEMI as an option, but also to provide a Hellcat version of it... without losing anything on the luxury end of the vehicle. Such a Hellcat 300C would launch the 300 series into the World Class of cars that are dominated by the likes of Mercedes and BMW.

    • @TheTestDrive

    I have always been attracted to this classic body style though I have never owned one. I looked at a new one the other day. The only thing that has kept me from buying one is that it doesn’t hold it’s value. My husband said that if buy one I’d better be prepared to keep it for a long time because resale value wouldn’t be there. What do you think? I’ve only owned one Chrysler (Concorde LXi) bought brand new and was not happy with it at all and only kept it 2 years. Beautiful car but it had no passing speed and it broke down a couple of times and the dealership were asses!

    I'm going to trade in or sell my 2014 300 3.6 rwd for a new 2018 300s but a AWD, still a v6 tho.. I live in Chicago and the winters suck out here and that AWD system in the 300 are great.. only activate when it needs to.. I'm thinking of just leasing one and changing it out for a new one every 2 or 3 years.. Much better choice.. But yeah there great cars, I also love the way the 2015+ body style looks.

    I have a 2016 Awd 300C and the trunk is small. The armrest was able to slide up so to help my 5.6 frame. I also wished I was able to update the nav without paying $300 + every few months.
    Ps the braking is really bad. I believe it’s a D on the review boards. I had to update to slotted and drilled, not expensive, to get acceptable stopping power.

    This car is the same size as my 2013 Hyundai Sonata 2.0t. The Sonata has the same interior space and more trunk space. The 2013 2.0T is quicker and faster than the V6 Chrysler 300. The Sonata also gets 34mpg. The Sonata's backup camera is by far superior to Chrysler's. All that aside, I bought the 2018 5.7L Chrysler 300s. I love the V8. My MPG really sucks. I am getting 14 mpg in the city but that's because I have no self control when it comes to acceleration. Thanks for the video.

    In a heavy car like this the 5.7 is really the only option. Chrysler needs the AWD in the 5.7L. Also, where is the Hellcat 6.2L option? That motor needs to be in as many lines as possible.

    What's with the white seats. If you like cleaning the dirt off of them I'm sure it will get old real quick. Poor color choices - Green? Dash and trim are boring - Black? That's it? Used to have nice brown wood grain. Being they are phasing this out by 2022 (I'm told) Chrysler is not putting much effort into any more builds.

    • @wallacewilliams6452
      @wallacewilliams6452 6 лет назад

      More color and trim options would be nice. Earlier versions had light green and light blue. Tan interior verses mocha would be nice. Maybe "boring stylist", i.e. black, grey, off white, blue black, red black, although I love the blue dash lights. All a matter of our tastes.

    The body is basically the same as the 2011. They tweaked it here and there in 2015 but the body is basically the same as 2011. So thats 8 years with the same body style! Thats insane! A complete redesign is way overdue! Chrysler normally redesigns every 3 years or 4 years max! I have no idea why they are keeping this dated body style. 2018 better be the last year they have this body style

    • @TheTestDrive
      @TheTestDrive  6 лет назад +7

      Agreed, but it's tough to do a complete redesign unless they change the shape, which would be fine but it would possibly not retain that distinctive 300 look. I'm not sure what the best way to go is. I haven't seen or heard anything about the 2019 model yet. Thanks for watching 👍

    When they chopped the backend off from the original, they ruined it. It’s a joke!

    I'd avoid anything Chrysler these days. The new Fiat owned Chrysler has no customer loyalty and has a history of not standing by its product. It's a Chrysler so it will have issues. Now do you want to gamble if They will fix it under warranty?

      blainne2012 that's a very old mindset for this product. It actually had Mercedes tech and style of drive and ride, as quiet as its kept.

      The One I'd agree if they didn't leave me with a 5k repair bill over a BS reason just this year.

      Brought my 2015 300c to the dealer for a faint gear whine, they replaced the differential without question. in 1 day.

      My car came with the remainder of Chrysler's warranty and used vehicle guarantee. So far they have: 1 fixed the curb damage on the front right and rear rims, 2. repainted the front hood to fix a few nicks from road damage. Very happy thus far. Only time will tell. Could be getting to the right dealership?

      They replaced my water pump under the power train warranty within 2 hours, no questions asked. This was on a 2014 Grand Cherokee V8 bought brand new in 2014.

    Nice car but it's dated and the reliability is still really poor and that is a shame.

      May I ask what is dated about the car? Thanks.

      The car has not had a significant change since 2011. Yes it has an 8 speed transmission but its under powered v6 doesn't get good gas mileage. The car looks just about the same all the way from 2011. The thing that get me is that consumer reports gives it a 2 out of 5 for reliably. I think its sad that just could not afford to risk buying one of these.

      The 3.6 V6 is NOT "underpowerwd" with almost 300hp!! And it gets about 32/33 mpg on the highway unless you drive like a maniac!
      I drove these cars long distances for 2 years for Chrysler.

      I stand corrected I thought the v6 had about 260 some odd horse power with a 19/ 30 mpg. 19/30 mpg sucks if you have a 260 horsepower engine but at 292 19/30 mpg is great. The only thing that would still worry me is the reliability consumers report gives them a 3 out of 5. I didn't use to care because to warranties but a major repair out of a warranty could be astronomical.
