when I saw the color in the bucket it looked really muddy and not vibrant at all, but once it got shot on the car it came out great. Looks perfect

Oh and can you please do an entire car with any base color you choose and pearl powder or the Pearlizer. I've yet to see anybody do that combo on the DYC site. Thanks in advance and keep the vids coming I love it!

You sir, are a half decent painter, proper skills and technique. two tint kits will run an extra 40$ on top of the 300$ pro 3 gall kit. once again ship to Canada so i don't have to keep shipping to the border and driving down.

depends on how bad but itll generally cover it all up. If it doesnt you can add coats over the imperfections until its smooth. Plasti dip is much more forgiving than paint

not that you are asking me but i would guess that the tint is pigment just like any other tint for paint products and the acylic clear is a protective coating not made to come off but rather protect whetever is under it.
When it was in the bucket i thought it was going to look like shit, turns out this looks so much better on the car, great job :)

I think you should cover the Mercedes logo on the grill with the teal also. Keep the rest of the grill chrome.

Hey! I have seen your videos, they have helped me! But i have a suggestion. You should plasti dip a Honda Civic of any kind just so we as in us honda freaks can have an idea on how to do it on our own civic. Thabs keep up with the videos
Need to black out those rims or put a teal trim on there with some metalizer to darken them up and that truck would be complete. It came out really nice though nice bright color for the Florida weather.
Wow at first I was kinda Ehhhh about the color but that looks GREAT on her car.
I'm no pro, but try peeling it all and starting over with 2 white base coats, then follow up with 3 of the blaze orange. I'm betting you'll have much results.

It depends on the size of the car. Their car kits on the website will show you how many gallons for what size of vehicle.

Question - You plasti dip the car. Its on the car for a month and then you want to add an extra plasti dip color on top of the first color for whatever reason. When you peel it off will the two colors come off together or will they be separate?
Yes, most states require that once a car's color is changed, is must be reported to the DMV. My my state ( CT ) the police will pull you over if the color of your car doesn't match what's on file at the DMV ( which shows up on thier MDT's when they run your plate )

Quick question. As i watched you peel the dip off the emblems i got to wondering. Is it possible to dip those black after you dip the whole car a given color? or when you peel it up will both layers come up? I only ask because i love the white car contrasted with black trim and badging and when i dip my car white i also want to be able to dip the badging black after thanks!!

Quick question. You talked about how your gallons have more tint in them than if you mixed it yourself. However, now you're adding tint to pre-tinted PlastiDip. Does that risk putting too much tint per gallon? Should you thin it out with a bit of what comes in the tint kit aside from the tints?
Hi just a quick question. When you are tinting the plasti dip in the bucket does that exact color spray onto the car? It just looks like the color in the bucket is a little darker than the finish color on the car. Is this the just the colors the camera picked up, or should I be aware that when the color is sprayed it comes out lighter in the end?
just watch all the dipyourcar vids and do it yourself, it was actually really easy. I havent changed my title and havent heard of anyone doing it. Its not permanent so I doubt cops would really care
it won't tear easily...it get cured on there and because very resistant. The vehicle can go thru a carwash with pressure washers without any issues...so to answer your question, No it doesn't scratch easy.
I'm getting new tires today on my E500 I have my wheels dipped. Should I remove it and re spray after? Will the tire machine ruin the dip?

so, i dont understand nothing about this, i mean plastidip comes in spraycans? you spray the car and then paint it and you can remove that layer of plastidip and your stock color will be ok? please explain me
if you plan to keep the color for more than a few weeks. yes you need to have it changed at the bmv. its not too expensive to do this but having a vin number that doesnt match the color of the vehicle can be rather bothersome.

2) How many coats did you apply?
3) Total cost (including spray gun equipment and all paint.)

If you go to DipYourCar's website, there, you can buy a "Pro Car Kit" and it includes 3 gallons of any color (might need 4 for the size of your car). It comes with the spray gun, 3 gallons, and alot of other things all for $319.
It'll probably take about an Hour for masking and checking. and probably 2 and a half hours for spraying. And we all recommend a minimum of 3 to 4 coats. But the more the better (:
+TaylorTallent 1hr for masking is a littlebit optimistic if you have never done it before
i think your cars look great! Is there an "ideal" temperature for applying? Does Humidity play a facter in dry time even though its not water based?

Hey Dipyourcar, kind of a legallity question here, once your car is painted a different color than your original, does it need to be reported to dmv? What would happen if i got a lets say parking ticket and they wrote "Black" Bmw when in actuallity it is Silver?
...one more question. Do you guys do an 'amount' guide to give a rough idea how much product is required per coverage area. If yopu have already covered this then please just reply with a link. Cheers

It's a GLK fistpittingnork, Made in Germany (ML is made in Alabama, lol)... The GLK new is only $33-35k... You can get one with under 4k miles 8 months to a yr old for 26-28k
How many gallons as well as tint kits would I need in order just to do 4 wheels?
That does not look close to the color that was in the mix bucket...does it dry significantly lighter?

Just wondering why you didn't peel off the old matte black plasti dip before adding the new coat...
what about existing paint chips...do u have to have a perfect finish or will it seamlessly cover chips and such?
Also, lets say I plasti-dip my car and I get a chip/scratch in the plasti-dip. What will happen to the rest of the plasti-dip, will it begin to peel off starting from that spot? And if I do get a scratch, can I use a heat gun to melt the plasti-dip and fill in the scratch? If not, how would I fix the scratch?
how does the plasti dip react to the salt from the streets?

If it peels how do handle scratching from tree branches? Or bushes?
Do you have a 'colour mixing' instructional vid that shows folks how to mix 'any' colour? What base colours to start with and what to add ect.? For example i'm after a matte darkish brown colour to cover the roof on a 'Macadamia Mattalic' custom car we're building on DreamCarGarage1 here in the UK. We were going to get it wrapped but came across 'Plast-Dip'.

hey fonzie i have a 09 nissan frontier king cab(its about the size of this car just higher) i was thinking because you only used 3 gallons on this. my truck is about half of this car because i have a bed and wouldnt have to spray the whole roof. could i get away with using 2 gallons?
