#1 rule for when someone takes you out and offers to pay: Only make them spend as much as you would have if you were paying for your own meal, unless they explicitly say and encourage you to get whatever you want and don't worry about the price (and even then don't overdo it)

Those three actually make sense, as one is for safety, one is his sexual orientation, and having a personal preference on hair is perfectly fine. We all are attracted to different appearances after all, and saying someone can't date based on appearance is very close to telling them they have to go out with someone they aren't attracted to, which is coercion, and eventually if led to it's logical conclusion would lead to them being raped (obviously not the intention of people who suggest this, as it's all well intentioned, so I'm saying this to point out what is being missed, not condemning anyone). As someone who is still duking it out with family after 4 years I can definitely say it gets stupid. My executor of state doesn’t want me to have my inheritance so she hired a lawyer with it apparently not realising that the money she’s paying them is mine and that by being my executor the lawyers technically work for me and have been keeping me in the loop of her shenanigans. When my sister was scanning things into her Vudu for their disc to digital (something you couldn't do with Disney things), a surprising amount and array of our movies couldn't be read in for that (it would specifically say it was a Disney thing). I'm not talking Lion King or things with "Disney" plastered on it, but movies like Sixth Sense and anything from that production company (I think it was the production company)

Your coworker buying lunch story reminded me of a similar situation. This was back when I was in college and as with all college students, we were dirt poor. A few of us were coming back from an event and decided to stop somewhere for lunch. I noticed one of the guy did not order, I asked him and he said he has no money. I don't know him well and was barely keeping myself financially afloat but decided to offer to buy him lunch. Everyone including myself order a regular meal which came to be around five or six dollars per person at the time. This particular guy order a 2XL size meal along with all the trimmings. His meal alone cost almost $17. Granted that may not be a lot now but back then it was a lot and we were poor students. Since I had already offered, I felt bad taking back my words and flip the bill for him. Later on another buddy asked him why he ordered so much, he said because it was FREE. I was about to flip when I heard that. I keep this moral code to myself, If someone offers to buy me lunch or anything for that matter, I never go beyond what they order for themselves. Needless to say, that was the first and last "FREE" thing he got from me throughout my college years.
