I've got to add a word about Todd Burdick , 'Mr. Tuba Skinny. At 3:25 Shaye cues him and we hear a lovely piece of tuba (sousaphone) lead work ... clarity of tone, spot on phrasing,;on top of his chords & snippets backing the whole tune. Exquisite..
This is a gem, to come back to many - many times. Just a beautiful piece of music that transcends any genre'; a sublime ensemble performance ... and Shaye's horn is delicious .................
Great version; I love it!
Tuba Skinny in an echo chamber. Outstanding as usual.
Many thanks, Eric Alan Isaacson. The band has been playing this unusual D minor piece at least since 2012, but has never yet included it it in any of their albums. Good to see Shaye directing the the traffic as usual, including the call 'offbeats' at 2 mins 22 secs to back Barnabus's playing of the Middle Eight; and the proposing of 'fours' with Max at 2 mins 55 secs; and going back to the Bridge to finish (3 mins 58 secs).
Pops Coffee hey Pops, your nuanced commentary beats that of any NFL commentator by three touchdowns and a field goal. Much respect!
@@super8guy Thanks for the kind words, Super8guy. Unfortunately, ensconced here in my cabin in Sherwood Forest, I have never encountered any NFL commentary!
@@super8guy 'Try 'two headers, a corner kick, and a penalty shot' ... he's from Nottingham England .....
@@PopsCoffee not encountering NFL commentary is a mercy, not a loss, especially when contrasted with the intelligence and accuracy of your comments!
!! Well, a year later, I have still not encountered an NFL commentary, Steve. I have precious little hope of doing so, however high my ambitions may soar.
What a great arrangement. Thank you so much for filming and sharing here. This concert must be extraordinary wonderful.
