See, THIS is why I wish that Epic Games didn't abandon UT for FoRtNiTe! So we could get awesome tracks like this in the game as well as have the game FINISHED! Now it's never gonna be done.

@@VolkovVelikan I wouldn't say it's the worst thing that the FPS genre has seen, but its definitely a humiliating and undeserved death to the Unreal series. Epic Games is a huge company now, I don't know why they couldn't just hire new devs instead of forcing the UT4 team to make Fortnite's BR mode.
I played UT4 unfinished and it is undeniably one of the best in the series, if not the best, and I can't believe we'll never see it fully realized.
@@bonkmaykr ut2k4 is the best in the series, in all aspects, the community made so many mods that you literally were playing in a metaverse full of different gamemodes, from the best competitive gamemod to the most spamming invasion rpg, not even talking about vctf, instagib, trials, race, constructor and many many many more... ut2004 was the editor that gave many games come to life (killing floor, alien swarm and many more)
the best modded game the community ever had, it was made even better that gmod

I remember it took me like 3 weeks to beat Xan, and it was done because i got a couple of lucky shots , one hell of an AI bot from 1999.
Yea, that cyborg was a badass
He did have a very predictable movement pattern across Hyperblast as well as tactics that were easy to figure out. He'd chase you with a minigun / flak cannon if he had a Shield Belt or Armor on him until you'd hurt him enough to force him to find health pickups. Also, every minute or so he'd dash for the Shield Belt. That made it easy to pin him down in a tight corridor. And he's very vulnerable when he jumped towards the Shock Rifle outside the ship. Just don't try to out-aim him in close quarters using only your reflexes. He's faster than you everytime. Once you have him figured out, even on Godlike, he's not too hard. Just different from other bots but not harder.
The thing about Xan. He adjusts his difficulty to the player playing him until he's tuned to the point where he's just better than you - I noticed it lots of times where the first few kills were a cakewalk, and then he'd start slowly getting those shots in more and more frequently until he starts destroying you when he's finished adapting to your skill level.
He does this in UT2004 as well. I noticed it when I was playing the game on Godlike recently - a difficulty where I frequently struggle - and the adaptive AI made the final fight... noticeably easier. Almost as though the developers wanted the player to have a challenge that wasn't impossible.

WTF IS THAT like 10-20 just to beat first level then like 30+ for the second and the 3rd cant even do it... at this point i was thinking that xan will be the god mod cheat ON XD

U mean- UT99 shown it all, but modern game developers went too far after flashy cluttered stuff, and forgot what is gameplay is all about.

Your remixes are always so faithful to the original while bringing their own flavour.
Having not listened to Go Down in a while, and listening to this now, I could not exactly tell you what the difference is. It just feels like I remember the original. Then I go and listen to the original and appreciate the work you do as its own version, but damn does it do it justice.

I played UT99 back in 1999 a lot and "go down" is one of the best tracks.

2:38 Man that's not even regular combat phase music anymore, that's just straight up boss music. I love this part for the same reason I love the UT3 version around this part.
And you're the boss. By the time this part comes in the game, you're so deep into the flow there's nothing outside of a server.
@@chupasaurus go down was also xan's boss theme as well, its the final boss theme of UT99
@@xanious3759 The track is being used on this map, not Xan fight specifically. Actually there's at least one deathmatch on Hyperblast waaay before Xan, so the level isn't attached only to him either.
@@chupasaurus ...no? unless you're either misremembering or thinking of the wrong UT, hyperblast is very specifically xan's final boss map in ut99, and the only other stock map that uses godown is deck, which isnt in the bot ladder
@@xanious3759 It's not, the first time it is used during DM ladder, which is the starter one.

I owned the boxed copy of UT (from 99) and was proud to have it, when I started my real PC gaming days. This track is very, very good, and faithful to the original. Absolutely love it, you killed it.

That was amazing. So many remixes of this leave me feeling unsatisfied but this was the first one I really felt like a proper update to the track that hit all the great moments of the original. Love it!

Friend, you have done Alexander Brandon's original track some real justice here. And I do mean _his_ version specifically. There's absolutely nothing wrong with what Kevin Riepl did in _2004_, and in fact, those little changes he made sounded pretty intense! But it's nice to hear someone go back to the very first version and really make it shine anew. Well done!

While composing, it was just me and Alex Brandon original GoDown track =) Later, on mixing stage, I've decided to "cheat" a bit with modern brightness and loudness to sound at least near those great remixes ^_^
Don't know what I was expecting but this went above and beyond. Real smooth but crunchy. Loved it!

Знаете, я точно так же однажды мечтал услышать треки УТ99 в новой оболочке, сам тогда особо не замахивался на такие произведения, но со временем начал в голове придумывать, что именно я хотел бы услышать в этих новых обработках. Так капля по капле это сформировалось в конкретный план действий, и в один момент меня осенило - я мечтаю уже с конкретными требованиями к материалу =D, которые можно попытаться реализовать.

Woah, this is a really good remix of Go Down from Unreal Tournament! I really liked how closely this remix followed the official versions pretty closely but did some modifications to be more unique. I felt the amount of hard hitting synths were great like in UT3's version, while the main parts of the song felt much like UT99 and UT2k4. Pretty much took inspiration from all 3 and combined them into one awesome track. Best of all is that not only is this remix good to listen to on its own, but I can totally see this working ingame very nicely as well.
So, great job on this remix, it's both faithful to the source and builds upon the original in good meaningful ways.

Мне всегда нравилась музыка из UT99, не знаю почему, но она прям запомнилась, и иногда я подумывал, что было бы круто, чтобы кто-нибудь сделал ремикс, но сохранил оригинальную мелодию(потому что она прекрасна), но переделав её качественно и по современному. Ты прекрасно справился с этим)

I do not usually comment on youtube but my god dude, this is the best remix of Go Down I've ever heard and I've heard em all. You seriously do great work here, UT was and still is a big part of my life, this reminds me how awesome UT is. You have also earned a sub, it's just to bad I can only sub once.

Kinda wished the track "landed" harder, you know, the kick right at the start. Other than that, it's a great cover, more than worthy of succeeding the original, which was arguably the best soundtrack in UT history :) . Hope you release more of these - I'm listening to these UT covers regularly on my MP3 player :D .

This is such a cool remix, it pretty much sounds like a modernised version of 1999's go down, which i'm guessing was your goal, great fucking job dude, you mad lad, you did it! XD
I want Epic Games to return to Unreal Tournament so fucking bad, these games actually felt like they had tension throughout the matches, they were actually FUN to play, the music was fantastic, the levels were beautiful, the gameplay was smooth and enjoyable, you had so many different game modes you could choose from, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, CTF, Domination, Last Man Standing, Assault, etc. IT WAS SO MUCH FUUUN
