    Damn, I relapsed a week ago until yesterday. I hated myself every time I took my pills, but the voices in my head telling me it will all go away once it kicks in were too strong. Finally, I had enough and decided to write down all the reasons why I need to stop and taped them around my house as a constant reminder that I got myself into this mess. Yes, I feel like dying right this second but reading these up on my wall are definitely helping me silence that evil voice in my head and to keep positive. Thanks for your videos, they've been a tremendous help in keeping me sober prior to my relapse last week BUT I will not let this fk up ruin me.

    My parents dropped 150k on me for inpatient rehab I stayed sober for 4 months I relapsed then I put myself in an IOP program and stayed sober for a year then relapsed then found out I was pregnant and I was put on an subs maintenance program I was on that for 2 years I am now 4 years sober and to be quite honest with you I know it’s says do it for yourself I couldn’t however I would NEVER in a million years be the cause of my sons pain he is my strength and my motivation. When people ask me how’d I get to 4 years I’m reluctant to say because a kid doesn’t always change someone.

      Dsutphin91 Ds It’s literally the worst ever. Every day is another step closer to being free, just make it through the day & to the night. One step at a time. It’s either those 2-3 weeks of torture vs. a life of addiction & WDs. There is freedom, just gotta claw your way to it for a short while. I hope you’re getting through it. Millions of us know exactly what it’s like. Nobody is alone in this.

    Recovery is possible u just have to work hard at it. I did it at home with support from my family my higher power and Ryan's video. sometimes i would b jealous of people who could afford to go to n patient and not take advantage of the opportunity. but the addiction is so strong that it destroy the thinking n our brain.so if u can afford to get professional help please take because someone love u and want to help save your life. look at Ryan and see that recovery is very possible u just have to really want it. Thanks again Ryan

    Man, I just want to take a moment to say thank you for all your videos.. I seen study other day that was done. They say there are more people on pills and prescribed meds than there are tobacco users. The validity of that i can not confidentially confirm, but your videos helped me. I had severe back injury and and was prescribed Norco 7.5 yo eventually to 10mg for many years. Its been tough but there is a light at end of tunnel. What made me realize the how I was taken meds and still hurt. Being bigger guy tolerance got high. I got tired of scavenging for ways to get by so I could by more than what prescription offered. I would never resort to stealing not in my nature and family. I was raised by old school and if that was ever and option to steal I wold have hand chopped off lol seriously my family is hardcore. I was injured 22 and Im 37 yrs old now so i had been prescribed many years and played it smart mostly then it caught up with. i would lie up sick if i didnt have meds I woudln't bother people. I would suffer due to my up bringing. Awaiting date for refill. I got so tired of it controlling me, little back story.. God Bless

    You are absolutely awesome! I would love you to share your thoughts about relapse. I am going through a lot like so many people. And I relapsed after being completely clean for almost 5 months and started again is being 2 months and I feel horrible I feel so sad I did this to myself again. But I am so scared of the withdrawals that I experienced the 1st time that I don’t know how to go about this. The first time my best friend help me through it by taking care of my dogs while I was very sick but nobody knows I am doing it again and I feel I left my friend and family down and of course myself. I am very sad everyday as I feel sick most of the time .
    I want to get clean but I don’t know what supplements or medicine can help me easy the withdrawals symptoms. Thank you for all your help you are amazing

    Thanks Ryan always look forward to your post. New topic? How about a functioning addict? That was me. My big problem was not only was I successful financially but I was also in the best shape of my life believe it or not. I was and still am but clean now a complete heath nut. Working out and eating nothing but organic clean food 7 days a week while taking Oxycodone just about everyday as well. I'm talking 10% body fat not even driving anything but water. One of my favorite things to do was taking two 5-325's and go to Jiu Jitsu class for two hours 5 days a week. Go figure, a martial arts lifestyle but at the same time disrespecting it. Basically a topic of only positivity while using? Would love it man on sure there's a TON of people that where like myself. Take care Ryan. Thanks

      He read a story about a woman who was in a leadership role at her job, had a couple young kids, a husband that was gone 50% of the time, and her job required her to talk to the media. SO this woman wasn't some admin assistant, ya know. Most of us are functioning addicts -- thats not uncommon, not at all.

    • @dylancaldwell677
      @dylancaldwell677 8 лет назад

      +livia1881 Same here, clean now. Was and still married with kids and we both work full time during my use. My situation or question if you will is not just success in the workforce /financially but physically as well. I was in the best shape of my life both physically and mentally. I was competing in UFC type of martial arts competitions as well as being successful financially and in life all around. I was basically doing everything before using and when using most people strongly recommend doing to help in recovery. Meditation, yoga, reading,resting, eating all organic, surfing, out in nature constantly you name it. I used daily and at high doses at times but could stop for a day to 4 days without any withdraws. I've heard post before on fellow addicts being successful financially which were great. But must seemed to know they had a serious issue. Were depressed, hated they're lives exct. But that wasn't my situation/experience. My experience as an addict was always positive.

    • @dylancaldwell677
      @dylancaldwell677 8 лет назад

      +livia1881 not positive in the long run because we all know there's no happy ending to this life while using. But for a period of time maybe I was blinded or ignored it not see looking back. But it was hard to see with nothing but what seemed to be a perfectly balanced life. The best time of my life it seemed. I guess, stories with addicts being disciplined with their use. Which sounds ridiculous I know. But much like the discipline needed to compete in Martial Arts physically and mentally like a Buddhist.

    • @dylancaldwell677
      @dylancaldwell677 8 лет назад

      +livia1881 I forgot to mention something important probably rare. Maybe because I had a very low body fat to muscle ratio or I wasn't constantly draining my body and drank huge amounts of water during training that would flush out my system but the euphoric feeling was always there on the same amount taken every time for years. Strangely I didn't build up a tolerance which helped aid in never going over my daily use.

    • @livia1881
      @livia1881 8 лет назад +4

      Dylan Caldwell So...of course the thing is you will be able to use occasionally until you become an addict. I used occasionally for many years before I became physically hooked. But it did happen. You said that you never experienced wds. That's making me believe that you were never physiologically dependent in the first place. 1+1=2. It's that simple with opiates. The thing is that addiction doesn't have to happen straight away, you might get away with it for weeks, months, even years - without getting a habit. And this makes you think you've found a way of avoiding it, that you're somehow immune. But the truth of the matter is it'll get you in the end. Did you consider that maybe your own bias, your need for self preservation, is blinding you? Who'd want to admit that they let something get the upper hand over them? Am I close?

    What to do when your have life long pain from past injuries that interrupts your focus to the point you can't not think on what your brain is working on ? I have many X-Rays and MRI's that doctors had me do to prove the injuries I explained to them were true, They have me on 3 5-325"s a day and I only take 1/2 of one every 2 hours. Is this a situation that I should listen to the doctors and I don't take them for pleasure ?

    hi Ryan, ive been on pain medication since 2008 after i had neck surgery. i had a failed c- spine fusion replaced c5,6&7. they put a plate in my neck that is way too long do it has been rubbing on level 4 causing a huge bone spur. since then i have been in 24/7 chronic pain. every since my surgery. i not only have c spine pain,but i aldo have intense lumbar pain, and arthritis in every joint in my body. i never had arthritis untill the failed fusion. im ready to try n get off this crap, i have tried to detox soooo many times, but the pain becomes so intense, so horrible that i just can't physically handle it. detoxing amplifies my upper and lower spine pain to the point i just want to be here anymore. if i could only get through the detoxing stage. i know that i will have to try n figure out how to combat my chronic pain another way, and im worried about that alot... ive got to get of the oxy, my body is so addicted that i can't go more than 4 hours without it or i start detoxing horribly. i want to be free from hell like you are,so badly. what do you think about the rapid detox centers? its expensive, but it would be so worth it. im gonna sell my house to pay for the rapid detox center. id really love your opinion about that, and about how to control physical pain after getting off pain medication. thank you, Lorie

      Suboxone can help with pain!!! You can take it multiple times a day unlike methadone where you only get a dose once a day to keep withdrawal away. I know of many people that have horrible pain from surgeries and car accidents that are more comfortable and have less pain on subuxone than taking a huge amount of Oxy. Oxy only lasts 8-12 hours and the withdrawal from oxy is a bear. With Methadone or Subs they are much longer lasting drugs that keep you from having the drastic ups and downs of Oxy. I hope this helps I know you are scared and in a lot of pain but these two drugs are very good at treating pain!!!! Probally better than Oxy . Rapid Detox is very expensive and in a lot of cases because they are a private business they don't except a lot of Insurance plans. Have you ever tried Subuxone before??

    My craziest ritual is when I recite (in my head) movie dialogue or tv dialogue that I know by heart and that soothes my mind. Why I asked about a vid on rituals, I was a IV heroin user for almost 2 years and the needle fixation is a problem for me. I keep needles around (they are legal in my state to purchase at any pharmacy) and sometimes I use them to inject even if its only water :=( This is pretty common and pretty dumb among needle users unfortunately.

    • @bhaktapeter3501
      @bhaktapeter3501 8 лет назад +1

      Dude WTF, please do not inject anything... Injectable water is special water-- REGULAR TAP WATER OR EVEN PURIFIED BOTTLED WATER IS NOT MEANT FOR INJECTION BECAUSE IT DOES NOT HAVE THE PROPER PH TO MIX WITH YOUR BLOOD PROPERLY!!!! The only water that is safe to inject is special solution you buy at the pharmacy!!! PLEASE EDUCATE YOURSELF! My fried died last year from doing this because he was using dirty needles and iv'ing tap water--- HE GOT A BLOOD INFECTION (which is very easy to get especially when you inject water not meant for injection) AND HE DIED A HORRIBLE PAINFUL DEATH!!!!! So if you want to die a horrible painfull death like my friend did in 2015 just a few months ago, then by all means keep injecting water not meant for injecting! God help us all!!!!!

      Lots of people jumped on me over that comment. That's ok. I would just like to clarify I am no longer an IV heroin user. Of course I know that its harmful to inject anything and would avoid it ideally. BUT this is a REAL problem for a lot of people who were once injectors. Google it. I am not making it up.

    Ryan I'm starting my taper from 8mg I've got 4 weeks off from work through the MLA law or something like that is it doable for me to go from 8mg two let's say nothing in a matter of four weeks and be ready to go back to work or am I just wasting that time I guess it's the law and I'm I work at Meijer and I am with the Union I was wondering if you had any other tips that you knew of that the law can help me so I don't lose my job and if 4 weeks is enough time for me to go from 8 to nothing of course only the bottle of calm support but I don't know how much it is but I'm sure it's expensive and I'm broke is there some kind of payment plan we can do

      I'd say if your blessed to have 4 weeks off, then go cold turkey. you'll have no doubt that all hell will pass.

    My world is crashing down around me cause of pills. About to lose my family. About homeless. Don't have anyone or anywhere to turn. I want to quit but the depression I feel when i don't use is unbearable. This is shit.

      How are you doing now? I was an opiate addict for 12years using every day and now over 3 years clean cold turkey. You can do it. It's hell but doable. I still struggle with DEPRESSION and anxiety with suicidal thoughts. I think that is why I used. I hope you are ok friend SENDING LOVE and HOPE

    What about for someone that is stuck on 1 mg of subxone? I'm not sure if in patient isn't overboard for that. I need the most help with the withdrawal as I haven't seeked out drugs on the street in a long time.

      +Ryan Donnelly totally agree and I was able to taper suboxone all the way to 1 mg and once I got to about 4mg it became incredibly difficult to taper below that. I started at 28mg

      ***** Fair enough, but what can an inpatient facility really do for someone that has to go through withdrawal? Just lock them up until its done?
