I love that Kurt was always making real art with his songs, there is nothing in Nirvana's early work that says "we are trying to write pleasant hit songs that will be played on the radio." They just do it because they believe in it. It's pure.
I actually like the bleach/insecticide era more than in utero and nevermind tbh. Don't get me wrong those are also some pretty good albums but naturally i just prefer their metal-esk songs

I think you have most likely by passed a lot of music that has came out in the recent years. The underground rap scene, $uicideboy$, xxxtentacion, lil peep, ghostemane. They have all made very "non pc" music that has made some of the most reputable waves in modern music since people like nirvana. If you can perceive Nirvana as being poppy and trendy, which I guess some of their stuff was. You can defo be prone to just dismissing others music for the same reasons. Nirvana's poppy songs are still bangers doesn't matter if its trendy.

I had a silver-bottom bootleg cd of this on a 20+ track session titled NIRVANA... How All Started". This track was written down as "The Extreme". CD also had multiple takes of Pen Cap Chew, Blandest and the best version of "D7" ever where the electric guitar cuts out for 15 seconds and it's just Kurt's voice echoing to drum tracks before the guitar comes back screaming fuzzy punk distortion. CD was in my backseat. A friend of mine that always tried to get laid got in the car and asked me to give a lady he literally just talked to for 20 seconds a drive. After she was dropped off and disappeared, I realized she had stolen the NIRVANA bootleg. BITCH! I paid like $80 for that in the mid-90's.
The best Nirvana tunes never made it to a commercial release (excluding the post-mortem "With The Lights Out" of course)......this one, Blandest, Pen Cap Chew, Oh The Guilt, Moist Vagina (Marijuana, whatever), Sappy, Old Age, Marigold, all awesome
