Partner and I had this experience in hearts yesterday. When I opened my hand and found 20 points, my partner opened the bidding and we ended up in 7 hearts. Wow. His careful play made the contract. Exciting!

I bid and made my first 7NT hand the first year I learned to play bridge over 50 years ago. My mom and dad were the opponents and I had to make a queen finesse work against each of them to make the contract! It was like making a hole in one or bowling a 300 game. Ill never forget it.

I bid my first 7NT 3 weeks ago. My partner opened 2C. I was looking at my hand and i had 17 hcp. I was scocked!! I said to my self: Now stay calm. I responed 2D and she bid 3C. I had Jxx of C. I responed 4NT. She bid 5S. I counted that we had all the keycards and i understood she had a lond C suit. I was trying to picture her hand and as Marla said she had to had the rest. So I bid 7NT. She was shocked and said to me: We were biding for Clubs. Yes i said, i know but we have 7NT. When dummy appeared, i claim without playing even 1 card. It was magical. And I was the only one that found 7NT. Some played 6C, 7C, 6NT or 3NT.

I've bid 7NT and made it once. I had void spades, AKQx of hearts, AKQxx of diamonds and AKQJ of clubs. An incredibly strong hand with 28 HCP!
I bid 2C (our only strong bid). Partner replied 2NT which shows a balanced hand and 8+ points. I almost fell off my chair. I bid 7NT almost immediately.

Partner opened 1H, RHO overcalled 3D. With 18 pts and H support, I bid 4D. Partner bid 4NT. If partner was willing to do that, with my AD diamond stopper, I bid 7NT and had a lay down. (7NT felt safer than them potentially ruffing diamonds on trick 1)

North actually reversed - but didn’t have the points. If North and Marla played reverses, how would the bidding have gone?

Looking at the north hand it seems that N did not understand a reverse.

Or they did. After 2/1 game force, a reverse does not need to show any extras. But here they have extra points. They've only promised 10-11 with the opening, but they have 13.

@@d95mback depends on partnership agreement. In my view a reverse would still show some extra values especially if playing a forcing no trump so you are not forced into repeating a tatty minor. The presenter of this video should have made clear what their system was when applied to reverses.

The 1st time I made 7nt was because my partner and I play multi 2s. He bid diamonds meaning he could have 6 hearts or two. Spades or 20 or 22.hcp. I responded 2nt showing 14 hcp partner put me into 7nt as he had 21 hcp. I was shocked. He had 21 hcp

You could almost bid 7NT after 2S assuming partner understands what a 'reverse' signifies.
