- Natural building with Cob (Clay, Sand & Straw) series of Workshops in Escamequita Nicaragua, near the surf town of San Juan del Sur. At Centro Educativo Suelo Sano we had several workshops teaching natural building methods like cob, bajareque, rammed earth, tapia, and several clay plastering techniques.

How did you set those 4x4 posts in the cement stem wall? Looks like some kind of metal plate, perhaps connected to rebar set in the cement? A bit hard to tell from the video. Thanks!
Yeah the metal plates were set in the concrete
We are moving to Matagalpa in March and I would love to build a cob house !
I’m 60 and move slowly but I think I could get it done….just not sure I am 100% clear on everything, like how do you know if there is enough clay in the soil, or are you buying clay ? Thx !
You should be able to find good clay around Matagalpa. There are several methods of testing clay content in your soil. I'll try to find a good video for you.

Thank you, that would be great. I wonder if their might be a local person there that has built with cob before. We won’t be ready for quite a while so nothing urgent but I think it would be very exciting.
Europeans did not invite cob. Look up ancient African cob. Samba ppl.
In his defense, he didn't say they invented the practice itself - he was talking about the word cob.
I mean, the audacity and arrogance! Very European indeed!
