Thanks for getting after it against the Browns boys! Honestly thank god for the L, just when I thought this team couldn’t get any better y’all get blessed with a phenomenal opportunity to learn before playoffs. Queen you’re headed toward greatness. I’d love to see you stay with the Ravens but they gotta find a way to respect your greatness for that to happen by gettin you the bag. Also Humphrey wishin you well and I hope injuries stay off yah. Gotta keep stackin highlights for the Hall of Fame montage 🔥
What Marlon’s talking about where people hear music and can immediately play it on a piano is called perfect pitch. It’s something people are born with and cannot be learned. Relative pitch can be learned. It’s when you can tell the intervals between notes and can also learn music by ear, just not as quickly. So it’s definitely not too late for them to learn an instrument, they just gotta practice a lot
My marching band drumline buddy actually developed perfect pitch from just hearing and memorizing scales over and over again. I think it can be a learned skill for some people as well.
thats actually crazy hearing that marlo didnt really have many jersey wearing fans early on, tbh hes probs one of my fav ravens picks all time he a dawg
Bible does not say it's flat. It mentions corners, but it doesn't mean the earth is flat. Regardless love this pod, love this episode, love the folks that make this happen! Go Ravens!
You can learn to play by ear takes some natural ability but most of it is a lot of practice. If you can sing you can do it. It just takes practice. Sight singing and ear training are a good place to start.
My dad can hear something and play it perfectly on the piano. I used to be pretty good at piano too but haven’t played in years. It’s be a good experiment to see if I can still play. Love PQ!
I loved the 48 PQ. My favorite number is 48 and PQ Is one of my favorite players I was backing him since we drafted him. I knew he was finna be a dawg and as soon as we got ro I knew it was over and that he was finna be a demon 😈
Marlon I have been playing instruments for 15 years. Playing an instrument and full on sprinting are different types of skills. The piano requires you to know which sounds (notes) match with which keys. It’s much more mental, whereas running is instinctual. I believe being an athlete is more of a god given talent and being a musician requires more practice, so yes, you could at 27 years old become a great musician.
I’ve been playing music since I was 5 believe it or not. It’s like a God given talent. I played by ear I would look at videos of people playing and then replicate it. But I believe anybody can do it with dedication
Yeah some humans are pre disposed to stuff plus grew up in an environment where it honed in on that ability. The fact music was made by other humans makes sense other humans take to it naturally
In regards to the music thing, there are some people born with perfect pitch, and there are people who learn relative pitch. People with perfect pitch can recognize a note by hearing it, and this is not something that can be learned. Relative pitch is a learned skill to find out what note is being played. Lets say you hear a note and you want to find out what it is, if you have trained relative pitch, you could play a note on an instrument and then compare to the note you heard. If you see someone online who can play a song just by hearing it, more often than not it's because they are using trained relative pitch. There are the lucky ones out there that can just hear a note, and recognize it like Charlie Puth, but sadly I am not one of them. Playing music takes a lot of practice, and a lot of times you only see the end product. You don't see the years of practicing alone in your room. There are for sure people born with talent, but not every artist you see is a musical prodigy. If you want to play music, you need to practice and learn. There are no shortcuts. (Sorry for the long reply. This was just stream of consciousness, so there very well may be errors..)
As a musician i can say playing by ear is patrern recognition. Once youve played enough music you recognize the pattetns. Similar to you as a DB recognizing route concepts. It comes from hours of putting in the work.
I just went to Disney with my wife last month. 3 days at the Swan & Dolphin, 3 park hopper passes, flights, food, etc. was around $4k.. not even close to 20 lol.
At the beginning of the episode, you CAN practice and get better with a instrument, but some people have an ear for music, and tone and rhythm does comes easier. I played drums since I was a toddler and the talent got better quickly. I was eventually in a band and toured up and down the east coast. GET THIS DUB TONIGHT RAVENS!
The earth is round . The role of Scripture is to reveal spiritual matters, not to argue for scientific fact. With that being said. Whoever wrote that from the Bible, they were unaware of the circumference of the earth because Eratosthenes (the one who DISCOVERED the earth was round) didn’t exist and neither did science, science teachers, or Google for that matter 😊
@@solodarebelxx410xx5oh dear God , I’m concerned for the 1 brain cell u that u have left . I mentioned Eratosthenes . Who do you think he is? Please google him.😂
2:00 so i've been playing piano for 20 years and guitar for 15 and singing my whole life. my sister and I started taking lessons at the same time when we were kids and I think there is a difference. i'm not incredible or super talent but I had the ability to just make stuff up by ear, create, harmonize without having to really think about it and she had to learn everything note for note and it always was work to her. now i'm not a super precise player. i can't learn complicated songs and play them perfectly every time like some musicians so even within music their are different skills.
Musical talent is difficult. It can be learned. But as someone whose always been musical. I was singing along to the national anthem at 5 sometimes you are born with it. Sometimes you can learn some things.
Have you ever been on that ride that’s like a spaceship/ufo that spins so fast u stick to the wall and can lay upside down? That’s the first thing that popped in my mind about the earth spinning so fast that we don’t notice. And the way the sun moves in the sky during different seasons makes me think it’s round or sphere like
PQ has had a bunch of clever tweets. My favorite which was while we were in London was the Drew a Picasso tweet involving rumors of him going out with a certain chick named Grande. To me that tweet was just PQ having fun in the moment.
These guys aren’t locked in. This generation of players are different. I’m not hopping on no podcast after giving up a lead to a broken shoulder Deshaun Watson 🤣🤣🤣
.....With a high ankle sprain. Don't be fooled: THE RAVENS, Watson said, were the ones who further injured his shoulder in the FIRST QUARTER, and Watson played ANYWAY, on his ankle sprain, and STILL threw with that shoulder. Ruined his season for NOTHING. He's tough, and that's nice, but it wasn't worth it.
54:24 To answer your questions about the earth stopping if we would fly. The answer is yes because you are going from 1000mph to 0mph which means you are (de)accelerating. Remember that (F)orce = (M)ass * (A)cceleration. Imagine you are coasting in your car at a constant 60mph- you don't feel anything because the speed is not changing (acceleration =0). Now imagine out of nowhere you crash (ie you stop) - what happens? For people that aren't wearing their seatbelts they fly out of their car because their body technically is still going 60mph and the car is at a stop. Your body feels the impact of things because your body is immediately stopping causing a deceleration, couple that with your mass and you got force. As far as gravity not existing in space - you are technically right assuming there is absolutely nothing in space. The moment you introduce mass that is when objects start pulling towards each other. Yada yada yada, you can explain the the earth being round, and our constant revolving around the sun. With the smarts, study habits, and free time you will have after you retire - I would recommend studying some physics classes at the Community College. Cause that shit is crazy. I have a solid career and I am looking to go back because it's crazy how much shit is interconnected.
I know I’m coming to this podcast late but the 2011 Japan earthquake knocked the earth off its axis by 6.5 inches, and sped up the earth’s rotation, thereby slightly lengthening the day.

Perfect pitch doesn’t mean you can immediately play well. It means you can hear well. You can specifically hear a note and identify it.
My marching band drumline buddy actually developed perfect pitch from just hearing and memorizing scales over and over again. I think it can be a learned skill for some people as well.
Relative pitch is what you can develop. It can definitely be learned. That’s still different than the perfect pitch that people are born with.
