His death was devastating to so many of us. I think Hitch was the most important and influential public intellectual of our time. I've read every book and letter I could find and I've never been let down by his tremendous and graceful writing. We all miss you Christopher.
Well the afterlife claims are useless as no one can prove any of it, so I will not waste the one life I'm know for sure I have worrying and stressing about a place I might end up for simply thinking for a split second that the holy spirit doesn't exist! How preposterous is that! You are right, I am amazingly happy that his work will live on and inspire people, I just wish He was around to write more, and talk and debate more, I mean, I just miss him, and it's extremely sad, as he was one of my heroes.
I agree with both of you. Christopher Hitchens' death was absolutely devastating, and it is a damn shame that we do not have him around anymore to teach the world in a way that only he could. Yet we should also rejoice at the fact that his work does indeed live on, and continues to change the lives of so many people. His debates and books are one of, if not the main works that converted me to Atheism.

This moves me to tears, and fills me with both sadness that Christopher Hitchens is no longer among the living, and a profound joy in his works and his words and his memory. May he never be forgotten.

Christopher Hitchens was a person who literally changed how I looked at the world and the manner in which I wanted to live my life. I don't know how well he will be remembered by history, but I will never forget what his wisdom and integrity have taught me until the day I die. Thanks JediJesseS for putting this together. It is of great importance that we keep spreading Hitchens' words. What a brillian mind. What clarity. I have yet to see any religious argument holding up to his scrutiny. What a great loss when he left us at such an early age. The world would be a much better place if people gave up their stuuuupid religious beliefs and, as Hitch said, started thinking for themselves!
I'm going through a rough patch at the mo and watching videos of the Hitch almost brings a tear to my eye. I miss him, and I have never missed a public figure that I've not met; not even slightly. Sorry for the sentimentality, thanks Hitch.
He changed my life... for the better. I used to live my life, watching myself instead of being myself. I was taught that I was always being watched, so I lived my life with the experience of watching myself as if I was watching and judging my behavior like God saw me and what would he think... Watching all of the videos I could, including the debates for 4 months... last year 2015 was a freeing year for me. Since then, I haven't experienced life as a 3rd person in quite a long time. I also wanted to thank all of my fellow skeptics, non-believers, and atheists for sharing in the memory of Christopher Hitchens through coming together here and watching this collection of videos. It truly amazes me just how many views these videos get, and I find it incredibly encouraging that so many of us atheists aren't just opting out of religion and then sitting idly while hoping that others will get out too. I see now that many of us are actively challenging the illogical status quo, but not through evoking baseless fear of metaphysical wrath; instead, we are simply telling them what is, can, and already has been proven in the universe, and for which the pieces of literature known as "holy texts" simply cannot account for. AtheisticConclusion I judge religious people based on their actions just as I do religion for permitting them.
Devdraco Good for you
You don't think people do the same?
2023 misses this man ❤
That was an absolutely incredible final clip. Words to live by.
I'm a Christian and am enthralled by Hitch... Such an amazing guy RIP.
David Callaghan
It's been a week.
Which part of this sentence is still true?
Brandon Jacobs The entire sentence remains true... your point is?
Joking really.
I was suggesting that a week of being enthralled by Hitchens was enough "Faith-Killer" to make even Angels doubt.
Here is where I'd say Hitch was the beginning of my journey to atheism but now that I reflect I think it was something much more innocuous....NonStampCollector's cartoons.
Have faith in God. Nothing a wild donkey says matters. Donkey don't know enough. Donkey only whines. Your connection to God is forever. Don't forget it.
Whether you liked Christopher Hitchens, loved him, or even hated him, as many did and still do, you surely had to always respect this man. This man makes me proud to be an Atheist and he is surely missed. I truly love Christopher Hitchens. This man was brilliant beyond belief. I salute you for this most excellent video with a bottle of Johnny Walker in one hand and a glass in the other.
I don't think that you respect someone you hate 😅
@@patriciahofer8704if you can't fathom hating someone yet also respecting them then you've utterly failed intellectually
"You surrender in your own name. Leave me out of it."
making extraordinary claims without extraordinary evidence requires extraordinary arrogance
Making extraordinary claims
Without any evidence
Requires below-average IQ.
@david wyn-jones Extraordinarily intelligent people don't make claims without evidence because they have the good sense not to.
@david wyn-jones Just a simple fact. Not putting myself in that group, dear.
@david wyn-jones Who's one? Is it you? Why are you speaking about yourself in the third person. Don't speak in gibberish for no reason. It's a simple fact. One doesn't need to be an expert to know that to make a claim without evidence to support your position is not sensible. See the correct usage of 'one'?
@david wyn-jones I'm really not sure that I do
Well put together - superb compilation from the greatest thinker of our time!
It breaks my heart to see such a perfect example of wisdom, of conciense and of intellect to be met with such and end like Christopher had.
Not a coincidence I tell you.
His father had ,the same cancer , his lifestyle alcohol caused it, not God or some other fantasy justify it.
2:21 - Cracks me up every time. What a guy, what a badass nemesis against pernicious sophistry.
Rest in peace good sir knight, and thank you, amicus meus.
Strength, wisdom, and courage. I simply cannot hit the Like button enough times. Someone else kindly do it for me.
Still remember him. Brilliant Person
- Thanks for putting together this Video collection
I just found out about CH about a week ago and right now I've lost count of how many of his videos I've watched. When I found out a few days ago that he passed away less than a year ago, it makes watching the very first minute of this video very eerie, you can physically see that he was weak and ill and didn't have much time left but was still dedicated to educating people until his last breath. The very last statement of this video is very appropriate I think, thank you for posting, so much.
I am who I am today because of this guy.
Absolutely fantastic. I have only just recently found Mr Hitchens...his words speak volumes, and truth, he holds back from no one. Religion, and the idiocy of some religious people has become a great passion of mine... searching for and finding an answer to what makes these people tick is my new quest. Along with Sam Harris, Christopher Hitchens is my new teacher. RIP
Nahh... His words are all egotistical whining. They are mostly lies. He held back on no one because he's a drunk donkey and clueless people wanted to drunken donkey with him. Do the drunken donkey. Do the drunken donkey. Now do the dead dead dead. Now do the dead dead dead~~~ Oh yeeaaa. See what a badass I am? Strive to be like me. Punish atheists. Shame them. Win em over. Oh yeaaa.
Hitchen's evisceration of Dinesh D'Souza alone is worth the price of admission.
I wish the Hitch was still part of our world and society. His rhetoric and academic originality on differing issues across the globe was a true treat to be audience to. Thank you for this video. A drink for Hitchens!
Awesome video. Thank you.
It's kind of ironic that religious people can't get enough of Hitchens. Maybe because they are hearing the words they are too afraid to speak.
i am religious. and i believe christopher hitchens was a morale, brave man and Jesus would have loved this man!
standing up for what is right without fear or favour. what an incredibly wonderful human being.
this was a very intelligent human speciman.
You are the GOAT.
Great video - really appreciate you compiling this for us all
17:17 - 18:42 He took the verbal sledge hammer and crushed that Dinesh guy right there.
And did anyone get punished for their thoughts? I tell you this guy hitchens live in a drunk world where totalitarianism and mind reading really exist. My friend, that's an asshole way of talking. Do you see now? Don't let no man tell you God isn't real. This realm is a shackle. You can't see out entirely. God exists. No one can disprove that and people can tell you they have God's support.
MaestroKong You should admit to loving the shackles that restrain you indefinitely. You are the cancer of the world. You are slamming civilization into a screeching halt arrogantly taking a seat that isn’t yours at a table undeserving of your presence. The nonsensical operation of your mind in the domain of religion is pathological to all. Good day, my sworn enemy.
"Well, I don't know if god exists, in the first place..."
"*chuckle*"
More like coughs on his whisky.
this is why drunkards shouldn't be taken seriously
Thanks so much for making this video. I came to know about Christopher Hitchens just 3 or 4 years ago and was astounded by his breadth of knowledge, command of the English tongue, forthrightness, and bravery in defense of human thought, freedom and integrity. I feel somewhat transformed by him and will miss him greatly. Once again thanks for all you hard work, Mike.
I love the look the moderator gives D'souza at 17:28. It's says "Dude, you just got owned."
Why is D'Souza's blazer so big, it is a few sizes too big for him did he wear his dad's blazer
You almost feel sorry for some of the christians debating Hitchens in these clips. They come off as people who have never been exposed to an intelligent reply to their small-minded religious babble.
Immense Christopher Hitchens... It's all which can actually come out of my mouth after this
What an incredible human being. Realism and honesty were his best attributes. What a loss to mankind.
Honest to what? Being an asshole that's what. The real loss could be his soul.
Thanks Hitch , we need you back mate but i wont be saying a little prayer.
Nice little save at the end there :)
yea. he dead alright. if only he prayed.
@@MaestroKong He'd still be dead genius, he had cancer.
@@henryphilippeaux3566 I don't know why people are calling him a genius. He said nothing rational. Just whining and disbelief after whining and disbelief with no fact. They say the wages of sin is death. He sinned greatly deterring other people away from true faith. I think it is likely why he passed on so early.
Christopher Hitchens was brilliant. It is so wonderful that we have these youtube videos.
You're surely missed
awesome, awesome, awesome. You're going to throw your arms around him and say, "You too?? What luck." Just priceless, oh Hitch you will always remain to fuel those who will constantly match the ignorance with sarcasm, and piousness with ingratiating provocation. So much more fun when they can soak up the patronage!
He would treat you like air for saying Chris
Read some of his works for once
So glad we have hours and hours of Christopher Hitchens videos on youtube
One of my favourite people. Along with Bill Hicks, George Carlin, and Carl Sagan. Sadly, all are dead. The good die young
Hitchens was the ultimate badass.
Christopher Hitchens had a truly brilliant, rational mind. Great selection of clips. Thanks for posting.
Legend! 👍🇬🇧
🇺🇸 we stole him...he was an American with a British accent...

Haha! Very good. He was a great man..
A true legend, I think of him often.
