As a Canadian, where we pay high taxes too, I can say that NOBODY LIKES to pay taxes BUT we DO like what taxes GIVE us. (I know in the United States a HUGE amount of YOUR taxes goes to military & weapons, so it isn't quite the same.) In Canada, (& it appears similar in Europe), not only do our taxes go for things like "free" health care, they go for good roads, VERY good public transit that is well used by most, (which is better for our environment incl. the air that we breathe etc.) Our taxes also get used to give a little out to people with kids & to our "safety net" - if you become disabled, lose your job, become a low income senior etc. To me, it helps us have a better standard of living & less fear of something going wrong (that you can't often predict in life.) We don't have to rely on insurance companies taking care of us in our darkest hours (which is a MUCH darker day if you do), we know that we can DEPEND on our government to help us out BECAUSE of our taxes we have paid as a society. Thanks for another interesting video.
I live in Belgium (Aalst East Flanders) we have 3 national languages Flemish (Dutch) we speak more of a dialect while the Dutch are purer in the language French German in Brussels without attacking the people they prefer to speak French and English some Brussels residents refuse to speak Dutch This means that most of it is French, I just mean that there is much more to see outside Brussels, for example Bruges, Ghent, etc.
The difference is that it's better in Belgium, and they probably don't get sick as often because people have regular contact with their doctors and relatively cheap preventative care. I live abroad and, while the system is not perfect, it is better than the US and no risk of going into medical debt.
