LOVE me some Struts. Addo is a super nice dude too - I chatted with him briefly after a club gig at Pub Rock in Phoenix way back when. He was clearly exhausted and just wanted a smoke, but he was kind enough to take some time for me. This is great to see!
He seems like a thoroughly nice chap, as youd expect from someone from tbe midlands. I'm betting my daughter will love The Struts, on the basis of what I heard!
Turns out I was right. We've been YouTubing The Struts this evening. Daughter really got into it, especially the last album, and the live performance of Rebel Rebel in Paris.
Thank you for saying it first... yes my mind thought... they just took Noel Gallagher's Union Jack Supernova guitar and just made it monochrome colored union jack with lightning bolt sound holes
17:30 Yes exactly if you're a small person a Big guitar is not going to look good , it's the same as being 6 ft 7 " ( Greg Koch ) even with a regular size Tele or a Strat he said people commented on how the Guitar looked pretty small , that's why his Signature Reverend Guitar's are made slightly bigger .
I thought the Captain met @EmilyRobertsGuitarist (www.youtube.com/@EmilyRobertsGuitarist) of Last Dinner Party (I'm going by an old IG post)? Since the LDP are undeniably one of the best British band in decades, and today is Emily Roberts' birthday, I thought I'd ask, was it published and I missed it, or is it yet to come?
"I want to recreate the ugliest Epiphone guitar ever made, but take away a pickup." "Absolutely. Sounds ace" "That one sold for £599" "Cool. Let's charge £6k"
Can't see them selling for £6k the guys a decent guitar player but who's is buying his signature? He's hardly Metallica or Slash how is £6k justified? That and its an ugly guitar
Have to agree here. IMO, if a guitar is gonna cost several grand then the wood has to be top notch and visible. I don’t understand solid finishes at all in premium tier guitars. But at certain point you are paying for brand, materials, and craftsmanship and not the playability+tone. My 2003 Gibson es-137 has an arch top and back with flame laminate top and back. Double bound, neck binding, and was made at the Memphis custom shop with all other ES guitars before 2019. It costed me $1600 used, brand new they were $1800 (in the early 2000s that was a lot more than $1600 now). I guess there’s an audience for everything out there, but I still feel like solid finishes should be considerably less than transparent finishes.
@@rocknrollrebel84 less people means more time spent on the guitar. And people get paid for their time. I also believe they might spend more time checking everything on these smaller builders
Every single video at some point Capt. starts waxing poetic about simple setups and just using a valve amp- get over it man, we get it- you like cornflakes, beige clothing, and simple guitars. You're younger than me Capt.- but I don't think anyone would ever guess that because the image you seek so hard to create for yourself is that of an old, cynical, music store owner who's just over it all and yearns for a simpler time. Kind of cliche tbh and I'm not really sure it's even sincere, but it's definitely been done to death. I'd like to meet just one music store owner who isn't this way, one who loves FX and is excited about what's new instead of being "too cool for school" and yearning for the past.
I think there’s a place for both. Modelers, multi effects, and digital have their place. And their fans. It’s like vehicles. Motorcycles, semi trucks , pickup trucks, suvs, sports cars, sedans, and minivans all have different features and serve different purposes. And it’s fine to like some more than others as long as you acknowledge some people like other stuff and have people one to acknowledge those opinions. I think Andersons does a decent job of showcasing other products. The captain is just not the advocate for them.
Why watch if you feel that way? Find other content. I like Lee’s takes and I sympathise that stuff gets over complex, and even if I disagreed with him, each to their view and he basically digs and respects everyone.
Struts x Andertons collab that we 150% needed! Hell yeah
I love the struts. They’re like a modern day queen. Amazing songs, great live show, and amazing outfits from the front man.
That case and the guitar are awesome. Sound is amazing. Great video as always, thank you.
Saw The Struts open for QOTSA in Canada in 2024. Fantastic live band!

Saw these guys open for Queens of the Stone Age. They really pumped up the crowd. Great performance.
Bloody nice, goes well with the bands image etc well. Struts can rock out.
Another shout out to Uncle Larry and the Tone City Bridge - cool, and great unboxing - re active interview!
The Struts are rad! Saw them open for QOTSA here in Halifax, NS, and they did a great job!
I was at the Ottawa show. Loved the Struts’ energy. They played like they were headliners.
Try the Bluesbucker by DiMarzio. P-90 full humbucking pickup. I have set in a 1980 Greco EGF1000 and it sounds amazing. Very overlooked pickup!
Love his honesty no bull about the guitar " It just looks cool "😎
My last originals band gig at university was as a support for The Struts! Reminded of it whenever I see them pop up somewhere haha.
I love the gold sparkle Junior DC. 🧡

I was so glad to got to know the struts through "Sing". My god they are great! Taste in guitar speaks for itself ;)
Noice! I’m going to see these guys on the next Rock Boat cruise! 🤘😄

Looks really cool but was not expecting £6k 😂
Yeah, I think these are like handmade "boutique" guitars. They sound and look amazing, but that price tag- ouch!
Now i like that!
Love The Struts but that guitar is geared towards one person...and I hope he rocks it!!
bro was that you on the E.LF. Super Bowl Commercial?

@@zaccarter3801a good paintjob takes alot of skill too. Maybe more then a good natural finish
@@larsheuker true, but that think costs more than alot of Gibson and ESP sigs

Eh..
It will sell some...
And sometimes it isn't about how many he sells from his signature, but how many he sells from the other models
6k for that 👎😱😱😱
Ugliest guitar I ever seen.

Bruh it’s not that deep
Price is a joke
The guitar looks so stupid . . . and also who the hell is he anyway?
