    Hi,
Very good vid and very useful.
    I have a SMC Pentax 1:2.5 - 135mm.
I want to clean the lens because lots of fungus inside.
By any chance, can use the procedure of the 3.5 -135mm.
Is it the same? or I need to pay attention in certain steps because of the difference.
Your valueable input or idea is really appreciate.

Most manufacturers use similar assembly designs for most of their lenses. So there is a high probability that the 135mm F2.5 is built similarly.

hi, i have Pentax M 135 f3.5 version. Do you know how i can repair stuck apertures blades? Thank you

If its anything like the Super-Takumar 135mm F3.5, you will need to remove the front and back lens group, lens mount, and the focus ring. There are screws in the back that hold in the aperture assembly, and it is pushed out towards the front of the lens.

@Focal Reduced watching your videos had inspired me to try to fix some lenses that I got for free. Usually advertised as in perfect optical condition turn out to be very bad and the sellers just give you a refund. Anyhow. Would you consider making a video about the best cleaning proces for the lens elements. I may have missed it if you've done one already. I often struggle to get the lens really clean no matter what I try.

How easy a lens element is to clean is really dependent on how good the coating is. Not so good coating are extremely difficult to clean. Pentax's SMC is very good in this regard. Also be sure that the edges of the lens element are clear of oil. Unseen oil on the edges will mitigate to the glass surface when you handle the lens. As for my process, a double sided cotton swab with isopropyl alcohol is used most of the time. The cotton swab is gently moved in circular motions around the lens. Then using the opposite dry end of the cotton swab to dry excess alcohol.

@@FocalReduced I have tried isopropyl, lighter fluid, eclipse lens cleaner with cotton swabs, microfibre and pec pada. Most times I'm not happy with the results. When I detected oil residue on the lens I even used some washing up liquid with warm water but. I probably need more patience or just to manage my expectations :D

Unfortunately, I don't know what most of those items are. However, I can say that micro fiber clothes don't work well after the first use. Once they get used, its ruined. This applies to any type of cleaning material. This is why we constantly use disposable cotton swab and change them regularly when cleaning. Never thought of using lighter fluid either. Sounds interesting.

Is it more difficult to clean the Pentax M 135 f3.5 then this K version?

From what I remember, it is very similar in construction.
