Now that's a sentence you don't hear everyday.
Yep. True very true thanks man u made my day
I heard of hands-on experience but I just take it over the top
Oh

and you people don't like LGBTQ+
My aunt needed blood transfusion, and her oldest son refused, because he is a Jehovah's Witness (ironic, she wasn't one herself and shouldn't have to adhere to that rule).
And?
@@jackbullandothers3322 you'll never know
That’s completely unreasonable
Pisses me off with those Jehovah's Witness thing, do they ever think that for something to happen there needs to be a force to make it happen? That force are the hands of doctors, and blood transfusion is one of them.
And? Did she pass away?
Bruh I have a friend who's a Jehovah's Witness and his older sister needed a blood transfusion when she had surgery (can't remember what for) and his mum didn't hesitate to let them do it
A childhood friend's family followed some weird sect...she had serious thyroid issues...her mother refused to allow surgery...the disease eventually caused her eyes to pop out. (I think) the courts intervened (finally) and she received the necessary surgery, but her eyes are still not normal. Some religious people be crazy.

I get where they're coming from, not wanting to lose a patient's life but its vital that you understand their beliefs. If they wish to die, allow them to pass peacefully
Doctors have to take a hypocratic oath, they swear never to harm a human life. Letting someone kill themselves is considered harming them, even though the doctor wasn’t the one that killed them directly.
@@bessiebuddy7951 not really... only american med schools swear something. And 1. Hippocrates never wrote that, the "Oath" does not include to never let anyone die (it was that you are not permitted to use your position of trust to kill someone)
@@bessiebuddy7951 it’s harming the patient even more if doctors decide the patient should live in pain just because of what the doctor feel is right. It’s selfish as well. If the patient wishes to die, let them die.
Erm no. The life comes first. Prayers do nothing...absolutely nothing. Nowhere in the history of the universe has a prayer ever been answered from a belief. All the 'successful' prayers have been pure coincidence. Medicine trumps your religious beliefs EVERY time. If youre absolutely adamant about it then dont bother the hospitals and waste their time just stay out of the way.
But if they separate up the parts that is blood and injects it into a JW, then it's fine. but when it's complete blood just getting circulated and reoxygenized, then it's satan on earth.
Also there's such a thing such as adjusting to the society you live in. if they want special faith and such? go live somewhere else where it is a norm. Kind of like how just cuz you believe it is god's will to stone your kids to death because bible says so due to kid cursing at you.... that dun mean you get to DO so.
I know people have their beliefs and all that stuff but getting mad at your wife for literally SAVING your life seems a little bit stupid to me.
They talk deeply about this, and he just felt that she defiled what he wanted done. He thought that even under pressure she would say no, therefore felt comfortable enough to go into surgery, knowing that she would say no, but in reality they can have bypass surgery and I know plenty of them that I’ve had bypass surgeries without blood transfusions and they are fine. Like me with my kidneys I’ll have dialysis if I have to. My kidneys are 9:31 at 40% and there could be a chance that sooner or later I’ll have to have dialysis, nothings wrong with it.
That aint bloodless
jacqueline nunez true
That's what I said
Bloodless surgery means you don't put blood in their body, it doesn't mean the patient doesn't bleed. If the patient isn't bleeding they're dead
You have no right to speak to the doctor like that when he saved your life, even if he disobeyed your wishes
No, he has every right to speak to a doctor like that.
Yes he did. The dr was wrong.

Me: BOY WAT
I’m curious, what should be done in such moments? Is saving the life more important or respecting the patient’s wishes?
Amna Wajahat If the patient is an adult and deemed competent than you would have to let them die. People have the right to make bad decisions. In the hospital that I work at we have a binder from the Jehovah's witness church with recommendations which will be used of possible but in the end if the patient refuses than they die.
Kyla Smith for instance a DNR, right?
The term we use in health care is "informed consent", the patients need to be informed of the implications of the treatment, what it involves and the risks and once they are, they are free to make their choice and it will be respected. The cardiologist is right, whatever the patient wants they get, because it's their body
TheImpiroGirl makes sense. thanks

Same it looked so realistic!
Nah i know this will sound like im a psycho but i find it interesting
Reading the comments always managed to make me annoyed. Its their choice to follow their religion and its their choice to suffer the consequences. Nobody should be allowed to take that autonomy away from a patient
Sure it is...and it's the doctors that suffer mental issues due to someone killing themselves. Nevermind that they asked the wife..SHE CONSENTED. They did not do this without consent.
They didn't take it away...the wife did lol
@@antayafairless9028 I'm not sure if the laws are different in the USA however, where I live, the couple would have a strong legal case against the hospital. The husband was quite clear about his decisions and fully understood the consequences of it. Because he had the full capacity to consent or not, his wishes are the ones that should be prioritised. Yes, the wife consented however not only was she not supposed to (due to the husband's very clear wishes) she also was not at the mental capacity to consent (incredibly emotional state due to watching her husband deteriorate).
And yes, it's hard for doctors and other healthcare professionals. As someone studying health myself, I fully understand the desire to preserve life. However, in the end, it is not our decision to make whether or not we agree with it.
As long as adults do it to THEMSELVES, I'm fine.
But there are many, for example, children who can't consent to this and have their parents decide. That's what pisses me off.
@@milicadjordjevic4498 Yeah 100% agree. Thankfully, there are laws that allow parental consent to be overridden if it is deemed medically necessary for the child

Wear it gurl, not hold it. More importantly, health professionals must respect patients wishes regardless if they end up dead or alive on the OR table. Otherwise,we can all smell lawsuit.
If the patient doesnt authorise it, then you don't do it. Simple as that. As long as they are rational and fully aware of the risks, it is their choice. They have final say on what happens to their body.
The problem is that very often these religious nutjobs endanger the lives of children and family members who can,t speak for themselves
Hugo QP truu
What do you mean. He is a rational adult who can make the decision of his life alone.
Hugo QP in cases like this, typically you can consult a high court judge and request the child becomes a Ward of Court if the life of the child is deemed in danger. It also can be granted for a pregnant mother if the child’s life is in danger
But the case becomes that the patient die the blame comes on doctors that they did not do everything to save that patient. And also sometimes the patients and relatives do not think rationally.

God gave us life he can give us another one
Im a Jehovah Witness and We are not being forced by our god its is our choice whether we want to listen to Jehovah or not and some comments are really disrespecting. We rather not betray Jehovah but our god will always forgive us, the eternity there talking about is Paradise where we will live forever in peace. Even if we die the loyal ones will be resurrected and so will people who have died will wake up and enjoy the Paradise with us. We will all have our chances to be included in the beautiful paradise.
I m an active Jehovahs witness too and this show portrays almost everything wrong . So many things are not how we do things or say . It’s sad how the writers portrays our believe in a wrong way ! The way they handle everything is not how we handle things ! Even the Bible scripture didn’t even add up to the whole situation ! So for me it looks like a apostate was the writers to portray us in a negative way ! But I m not wondering ! There are so many believes and religion ! But people have to mock and talk negatively about Jehovah’s Witnesses 🤨… so it makes all sense …
I’m also a Jehovah’s Witness. This episode did not represent us accurately. First of all we would never say ‘OMG’. We respect what Jehovah has commanded us to. By following and obeying what has been written in the Bible we are showing that we love Jehovah, and we will do anything for him, even if that includes being put under trial and death. Jehovah gave his only beloved son Jesus, who was perfect, for US. He balanced out Adam and Eve’s sin with Jesus, so that we can all have a chance of living happily forever in the paradise on earth. If Jehovah and Jesus could do that for us, then we most definitely will ALWAYS put Jehovah’s commandments first. Even if that means death. We put our faith and trust in Jehovah that he will resurrect us, as we have always put him first.
Your religion is a FUCKING CULT WAKEUP TO YOURSELF
You and your jehovah buddies need to be thrown in an asylum

The way she pronounced Jehovah Witness got me...
Yes - Jehovah's Witnesses - she made it sound very personal and not a label.
this episode is very over-exaggerated with their beliefs. in real life, they would likely accept their own blood, just not anyone else's.

When she said I know it seems like we are being difficult I’m like woman difficult doesn’t even scratch the surface of how annoying you are.
huh, i thought jehovah's witnesses could have their own blood put back into their body but not other peoples' blood
The producers didn’t research the material for this episode at all. The use of a heart/lung machine is a matter of conscience for each Jehovah’s Witness and many do accept treatment where the machine acts like an extension of your own body and circulating your blood right back in.
Why does this program constantly remind me of what I have to do in my RMPS (RE) class?
Why would they do that? Risking some ones life because its against their religion? I'm a Catholic and if I was in this position I would want the best for my husband. I hate seeing any of my family members suffer this much.
It's retarded to go 'god's plan' when it comes to life. cuz if a god exists and everyone has a plan made for them... that means no one has free will, thus no one is responsible for their actions cuz that requires free will to be considered responsible for something, etc. etc.
Not sure about others life but risking someones life because of our religion is very common in the history of the Catholic church though. In the bible itself there is the story about Daniel and the Lion, not to mention the many Martyrs.
A more recent example is St Jose Sanchez del Rio if you can be bothered to look it up
Alright then sign this wave saying we will not be held responsible if you're husband dies because you both put your faith in some tribal belief Over both of your lives
It's disrespectful to call it a tribal belief. If he wants to stand by his religion then let him. He's well aware in rejecting the surgery, he could die but he knows that he's going to be with God so to him, it doesn't matter.
He'd rather die than violate his religion - that's quite respectful, so if he wants to, let him.
@@preciousoladimeji8832 I don't get religion. I think the man was being a idiot, as choosing the follow his gods teachings actively put his life at risk. I don't get how people can value a god, whose existence they aren't even sure of, over their own well being. If saving your own life puts you at odds with god, then he wasn't someone worth worshiping to begin with.
when you give ur life to God you already have eternal life LOLL
ERH XIN WEI it’s their belief why you laughing

If I'm a doctor there, I'll just let them sign a waiver that the hospital is not responsible for his death since they are refusing the operation, Science and Religion, really hard to combine almost impossible
That is not true. Jehovah's Witnesses can accept cell saver with our own blood and many other medical procedures. But the Bible says in Acts 15:28,29 that we have to abstain from blood.
Bringing the wife in was SO manipulative! They should have just gone ahead with the bypass procedure and not told either of them or let him die.
It’s Jehovah’s Witness not “Jahovah’s Witness”. I’m not a Jehovah’s Witness myself, I just thought you should know

Zairah Naz Jehovahs whiteness
They believe that the Bible strictly doesn't allow any transfusion of blood (that they aren't allowed to ingest (drink/eat), donate, accept or, in his case, 'store' their own blood - even if it is a medical emergency, it's a major sin or something). Like he said in the video at 2:05 - That is their belief.
Though, some Jehovah's Witnesses believe that certain medical procedures are allowed, some don't.
I going to have to disagree with Rhodes here.
There is a difference between keeping people happy and keeping people alive, it's the same difference between living for the life, and living not to die.

Either we believe there is gravity or not, we'd still fall. The same goes here, there's must be a definite truth about what's going to happen after death, then it's crucial to find out which one is the truth. And regardless you believe it or not, the truth will still take place..

If I have to have bypass surgery, I’ll have it done and I’m a Jehovah’s Witness. If it’s just them running your blood through a machine that doesn’t matter. And doctors have shown that people have more problems after surgery when they’ve had a blood transfusion then if they didn’t have a blood transfusion. These are top doctors and they’re not Jehovah’s Witnesses that have said this. There were things that were brought out in this show. That definitely isn’t the way we think, but it makes for good TV..
I'm a devout Wiccan, I will not take a life, however I believe that whatever it takes to save a life, I'll do it .
Those doctors never know their places.
0:46 that woman looks a little too happy over her husband having a heart attack
As Witnesses they would’ve known what bloodless surgery is, there is absolutely no doubt of that. And they also would’ve known that bloodless surgery is not only possible but carries less risk than receiving blood by way of a transfusion. They also could’ve viewed the heart/lung machine as an extension of his body with his own blood simply being circulated back into his body and therefore it would be a matter of conscience and not a strict “rule”.
Bloodless surgery absolutely does not carry less risk, it only has less possible side effects if successful, but also carries a much higher risk of death if something unexpected happens during the surgery. The rest of what you said I agree with.
I love your videos

He should have been on bypass to begin with!
i dont know what to say.
I read and studied those scriptures that the Jehovab witnesses use as evidence. They definitely mistranslated it and now it caused a ripple effect. God created human and animal separately. The blood reference refers to animal blood. You may eat their flesh but not their blood. You may not sacrifice the blood of an animal to another deity. Nowhere does it say you may not recieve the blood of a human. The closest that it comes to is stating on if you bleed for the safety/sacrifice yourself for another human being or take the blood of another in an act of vengeance or hatred which is how you will be judged.
