nice job that, fly presses seem to be a good price at the moment too so much more worth the money, I like the stripping bar set up you used, nice and simple so not much that could go wrong. THanks for sharing
I have a Sweeney and Blocksedge fly press and wondered what the rectangular slots were for. After seeing your stripper held by the slot I had an ah ha moment. Thank you.
I'm not sure if the slot was meant for a stripper, but it just appeared appropriate. I had some 70x10 flat stock which I welded together to give me 70x20 and it was a perfect fit!
Very nice work. There's not a lot of content on YT regarding fly presses so it was nice to see such a nice production. Your punching set up looks spectacular!
Great stuff. What are you quenching your punch in? My apologies. Just seen! 😂. Although what is your mix ratio and production method if you don't mind me asking Thank you!
Sorry for not responding sooner...I basically used a pan in a pan of boiling water to melt the bee's wax and then tried to get as much graphite as I could into it. The graphite is the lubricant and the bee's wax just a carrier for it.
It's a common belief that a fly press number indicates the force that it can apply in tons, I can't for sure say one way or the other. I also have a number 10 with two massive weights on it. ruclips.net/video/AduF4AnOY-c/видео.html
