I went to one of my saugeye spots tonight and got skunked but knoticed there was a lot of crawfish there. Came back and watched this video and used the technique to catch them with the bacon like you did and went back there just for the crawfish and all I gotta say is it was a very successful first time ever catching crawfish. Thank you for posting this video and passing on some amazing knowledge!

Refreshing to see! My family used to do this back in the 90s everyone would find a stick and add string to it and tie a piece of saltmeat on. There would be like 6-8 of us at a time and we would pull like 2-3 up each time would get enough to do a whole pot. we did that every year and then one year for some reason they drained the whole pond in the off season. Everyone was upset.
Earlier this year before I had any fishing gear I took a stick, tied some string to it, then tied a soda can tab that I cut into a hook to it and fished crawfish out of my creek
Enjoyed this video. I loved how the crawfish aka crawdads did all the work taking all bait and how they hung onto that delicious back on . You've made me hungrey for crawfish.
I caught crawdads without scented lures what I did was jigging it on the bottom by mimicking a injured minnow , flesh and grub depending the color of the lure . Ace put meat on a hook and pole, I did exactly the same thing but little different what I use was handlining it was fun the only thing . I had to be careful with handlining was not to be tangled and wrapped around by fishing line other than that very fun.

We catch 6to10 crawfish at same time on a full strip of Bacon tied on. Iam in Camp Veede Arizona. Love the video I’m going to do some crawfish in the butter and bacon grease. 👍

Order a crawfish net or crawfish trap, look them up online, go to a butcher ask them for (melts) it is a stomach lining of a cow that is what we catch them with in Louisiana.
After seeing this video I'm gonna start putting bacon in my crawfish taps. I was using shad and only caught a few but seeing this it was like a feeding alarm to all those nearby so thanks for the tip!
I've seen really similar situations near Palisades. Threw bait, threw jigs, threw everything I could. Then I realized i had a bobber and some trout magnets. I don't think that the trout magnets specifically did it for me, but having the grub float in the area was perfect and I went from nothing in 2 hours to 13 fish in an hour and a half. I strongly reccomend keeping that kind of thing in your arsenal. What would've worked really nice where you're at specifically would be a small crawdad imitation like Lost Creek sells. Little inch long craw floating in the trout feeding column would've workedwonders, I'm betting
Hey ace not sure if you know this but you can actually catch crawfish on a rod and reel by using bacon, you don’t even need a hook, just wrap your line around a piece of bacon and they’ll grab it

My dad just chuck whatever seafood with shells on Butter and pork grease with corn on a cub and Zatarain to finish it off. And he use the extra butter to make gravy. Its good
