@@wollewolf9863 The ones we have here in Utah are pretty hardy little buggers. I haven't had any species from anywhere else but from my research they are very similar to each other in care much like preying mantis are. They are pretty short lived though. The black widow was the first non-tarantula arachnid I added to my collection and I love them so much. I don't think I'll never NOT have them in my collection again. The way they carefully and cautiously hunt is mind boggling to me after owning tarantulas, plus they're gorgeous
Love your humor n creativity! I did learn some interesting stuff. Although, you missed a super creepy point about centipedes - how they protect their eggs! Gross! Your editing skills are professional quality, too. ❤️
Yes!!! All of these are scary and interesting and beautiful (that Black Widow is gorgeous) in their own way but the Tailless Whip Scorpion will never cease to creep me the f*ck out. I am aware they are harmless but just looking at it you'd think it came from the deepest pits of Tartarus. Love the production, the editing, the writing and the amazing footage of the animals. 👏 Also that ending? That's one of my worst irrational nightmares so yeah, thank you very much for putting that in there. 🙃
I live in Tucson and have bark scorpions in my yard (sometimes in my house). It's true that their venom won't kill most humans, but for all venoms there is the caveat that an individual might be allergic to a specific venom, and then a sting/bite can indeed be lethal.
Cruisin' through videos to add to the Fan Club. I love this one. I've watched it probably too much. If I end up with something other than a Tarantula, it's you're fault, Richard :-D
Spiders and bugs and insects have never bothered me much but I suddenly have an irrational fear of tailless whip scorpions. Those things are soooo freaky.
Appears like you had the Western black Widow (Latrodectus hesperus). There are a handful of different species in the USA. I might be able to find you a Southern (Latrodectus mactans) and a Brown (Latrodectus geometricus) as both are very common around my house in FL. They are relatively easy to handle as the defense is normally to ball-up and fall away instead of a threat posture. The Brown Widow has really cool nesting habits and the egg sacks are all spiny.
Solifuge are always a good one. And they’ll always eat haha. Nice, L. mactans has some awesome juvenile marking, red instead of white? I have 3 L. hesperus and they are definitely my favorite creature I have.
Awesome video Richard! I have to fine tune my Halloween special for Wednesday, but I don’t know if mine will be as spooky as yours! Me and my brother enjoyed guessing who was going to come in what spot from your clues we got about 8-10 right!😁🕷
Nice! Expert guessing! That's the whole fun of making these types of videos...seeing if you can figure it out before I call it out. Thanks for playing along. You and your brother are AWESOME!
I was surprised that camel and sun spiders didn't make this list! It is certainly a good one though! I was wondering if you kept snakes. I, too, have a black widow, they are my favorites.
I was going to have a sun spider on there but it died like a day after I got it...so I dont have one in my collection. I do keep a few snakes. I have a California Kingsnake, Eastern Kingsnake, Banana Calico Ball Python and a milk snake.
@@tarantulacollective that is really cool! I was wondering which species. I have a pretty large collection of reptiles, I'm just now getting back into arachnids. That sucks your little guy died when you got him. I've been thinking about acquiring one, but I'm unsure of how successful it is to keep them.
I gotta say, my wolf spider… is pretty terrifying 😅 Besides being incredibly large and lightening fast, there’s just something spooky about catching a glimpse of those glowing eyes at night haha but still, very cool 😎
Nice video.. I remember some of those species. when I was still in PI.. We used to catch them and play with it.. Such a satisfying video.. Keep up.. Hands up from toronto
I give you props to housing an Arizona Bark. I live in Phoenix, born and raised, and I cant get over them. They're everywhere, even in my nightmares. Ive had black widows, and their eggs with hundreds of their babies laying dorment in my couch. But the Bark scorpion reigns as my all time worst experience. Had them coming down from my apartment light fixture. Had babies too. Creepy AF.

i love ur style at making vids very cool and crepy
Thanks a lot...I'm still learning though..lol
Another amazing video, and what an amazing collection you have. Another great tarantula Tuesday.. highlight of me week
Thanks a lot Chris...I'm glad you enjoyed it. I freaking love Halloween!
Subbed for the assassin bugs. RUclips is fairly lacking in quality content about reduviidae, these guys need their own vid!
There is one coming down the pipe...i assure you!
@@tarantulacollective Nicee!
LOL, I think your neighbors know what you have in your basement by now. 🤣🤣
I live in Tucson and have bark scorpions in my yard (sometimes in my house). It's true that their venom won't kill most humans, but for all venoms there is the caveat that an individual might be allergic to a specific venom, and then a sting/bite can indeed be lethal.
Very cheesy, but in a good, funny way lmao. You have some pretty cool creatures my friend.
Thanks man
Happy birthday Richard!!! Have a good one
Loving your videos Richard..thank you
Glad you like them!
Cruisin' through videos to add to the Fan Club. I love this one. I've watched it probably too much. If I end up with something other than a Tarantula, it's you're fault, Richard :-D
😆😆😂😂
Trying to get overcome the fear of spiders by collecting tarantulas , respect👌
Yeah your channels cool I like it. Subbed!!!
Thanks!
Solifuge are always a good one. And they’ll always eat haha.
Nice, L. mactans has some awesome juvenile marking, red instead of white? I have 3 L. hesperus and they are definitely my favorite creature I have.
Vinegaroons are so cool, I loved taking care of mine. I'm also glad I don't have to worry about a venemous sting or bite
Your black widow spider has the most beautiful red markings on its back, and a beautifully shaped hourglass 🕷️🕸️
Awesome video! Love the creativity! ❤️ Happy Halloween 🎃 🕷
Thanks Emma! Happy Halloween to you too!
I gotta say, my wolf spider… is pretty terrifying 😅 Besides being incredibly large and lightening fast, there’s just something spooky about catching a glimpse of those glowing eyes at night haha but still, very cool 😎
I absolutely LOVE the black widow spider! It's definitely something I hope to add to my collection... one day! 🕷️
Nice video.. I remember some of those species. when I was still in PI.. We used to catch them and play with it.. Such a satisfying video.. Keep up.. Hands up from toronto
Thanks bro! That sounds pretty awesome...some good memories there. Thanks for the support!
I love your Arizona bark's cage! Is that succulent alive?
I give you props to housing an Arizona Bark. I live in Phoenix, born and raised, and I cant get over them. They're everywhere, even in my nightmares. Ive had black widows, and their eggs with hundreds of their babies laying dorment in my couch. But the Bark scorpion reigns as my all time worst experience. Had them coming down from my apartment light fixture. Had babies too. Creepy AF.
Same!! Im in az see them too often ugh
Those assasin bugs and centipedes really creep me out haha! The way they look and move just ahh
They are cool to look at. Just, from a distance XD
Awesome video man I use to own a black widow about 5 years ago and it has to be the easiest to keep spider or T I've had but because there deadly i stopped so i dont scare my guests or family away lol.
I keep mine on my desk at work. Occasionally I take her up front to show off to customers.
