Golden knight dash is weird because they changed it so that it only dashes if the dash puts it closer to the tower, presumably because it had a tendency to take a vacation while dashing before

if it is skeletons lining up vertically behind him, it would only dash to one. (Sorry for bad English)

The golden knight isn't that random, yes sometimes it dashes on longer distances that it should but when he dashes, he can't go backwards only forward, that's why when you place skeletons behind him, he can only dash on 1 of them unless there are troops on his range toward the tower
