- Rick Tulsie gives us a behind-the-scenes look on the final day of public tours for 2022 inside the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta. The tour was fantastic! Since hockey operations were busy at work around the Dome, we weren't able to look at some areas. Hopefully we'll get to see more on a future tour.

A very unique place to watch a game .
Great video. It reminds me of the tours that I took when I was in Calgary for summer vacations from 2011 to 2016. Rick is an excellent tour guide, and a good friend ( I hope). I miss all of it, and I'm trying to get back there this year. Until then, this video is a good substitute for the real thing, which I have done 6 times. Looking forward to my 7th.
Been here once when visiting from Scotland to see family in the 90s. Only hockey game ive been to. Very cool.

In terms of seating capacity for hockey, the Saddledome is in fifth place overall worldwide. Not that far off. As for physical size, it's smaller than other NHL rinks.
It would've been in the top four if Detroit's arena didn't take its place.
It will always be just the Saddledome.
This was built 5 years before Calgary hosted the Winter Olympics in 1988

The Sad, Dull Dome. By the grace of God, it's still standing. And bless the tour guide who reminds me of Fisher Stevens playing Ben Jabituya in the movie Short Circuit. You'd never think this arena was built in 1983, given his presentation. Gary Bettman must have been to the tour himself cos he's not pushing Calgary as hard to build the Flames a new arena!
