    Jimmy's grandfather ran away from home in Nova Scotia to be a sailor at 13 - he ended up owner & captain of a ship based in New Orleans. Jimmy wrote about him in "The Captain and the Kid". Jimmy's father was also a sailor, well-known in Mobile Alabama. Jimmy's tribute to him is "False Echoes (Havana 1921)".

    Jimmy Buffett has been practically unknown to so many people in the world! He didn't sing for fame or money, he sang for the pure enjoyment of it for himself and his fans! Even though when he passed away, he was a veryveealthy man. He had acquired a hefty sum of $1 Billion Dollars! He is one of my favorite singers ever!

    One of Buffet's best from a huge catalogue of laid back, feel good, tropical isle inspired music. For a very meaninful song, check out "He Went To Paris." Staggeringly beautiful tune and lyrics.

    Jimmy Buffet comes by his love of the sea via his family roots in Newfoundland and Nova Scotia in Canada. You reacted to Son of a |Son of a Sailor, a song inspired by his grandfather in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. Buffett wrote the song about his grandfather, James Delaney Buffett, who was a huge influence on his life. Buffett's grandfather was a sailor born in the town of Rose Blanche in Newfoundland, Canada, later moving to Glace Bay in Nova Scotia and eventually settling in Mobile, Alabama.

    Buffett concerts outside were amazing. We all wore parrot heads or fins. Before they banned bottles and cans and thermos's to the concert we dragged it all in. When they banned bottles and cans we dragged kegs in. Palm trees planted in big pots came in. Everyone was a party animal.

    Jimmy Buffet got his start in Key West Florida. There is a bar bar there called “Margaritaville” (he now owns the whole chain)that was the inspiration for his biggest hit. All his songs reflect the lifestyle of the Florida keys which have a history of piracy from Spanish galleons to cocaine smuggling.

    • @ChaddSullivan
      @ChaddSullivan Год назад +2

      Jimmy actually started Margaritaville when he thought his career was winding down, the song was the inspiration for the bar. He actually started years before moving to Key West, but that was where he lived when he started to have his first real success with his own style of music. While there is a nautical theme to much of his work, it's not limited to the Keys. There is a lot of country, Caribbean and New Orleans influence as well.

    Love the video. Not a big parrot head, but my father is.
    A couple notes. Jimmy does pronounce at least one of the t’s at the end of his name. (Buff-it). His backup group are called the Coral Reefers. Lots of nautical influence in his music, and maybe some slight references to the grass he used to smuggle. He was a ‘Treetop Flyer’ (also the name of one of his songs). He did do some drug running in his youth. He was a pirate. These are the things he sings of in his songs.

    from the gulf coast of Florida. The ocean is ever present in our lives. Dad was a fishing guide. Even if you were just a waiter it was in a seafood restaurant overlooking the water. I think part of Buffett's limited appeal is you kind of had to have lived in a coastal town to truly appreciate Buffett

His concerts are a big party and he loves relaxed kick back music which his fans really love. Water is signified by the Moon. Sea is signified by Rahu but it has the salty taste meaning salt water has salt, so the sea has connection with Venus as well (Venus signifies water with so called sediments) and the Moon (Moon signifies salt).
    Moon, Venus and Rahu these are the three legs of a tripod that gives you the basic minimum requirements to manifest an ecosystem - signs of life or the term 'civilisation" as we know it.
    By the way Rahu gives visualisation so that civilisation can advance. If you only just have Moon and Venus, it is only just a stable ecosystem. Rahu gives the impetus for the ecosystem to grow.
    Yes, these three planets give you full enjoyment of life eithout the dire necessity of things.
    Talk about cosmic influence (of the singer).
