As a European just wanted to say we love Max, he’s everything the Ryder cup is meant to be
Me too the type of guy to have a pint with!
Between Max and Victor it’s very easy to root for both sides! Those two guys are both impossible to dislike
@@troyhoffman8619my two favorites
He, along with Cantlay, Schauffele and Koepka looks so miserable when playing golf…..never any smiles.
@@troyhoffman8619Homa never smile on the tolf course. He looks miserable when playing. Viktor always smiles
Props to Soly and DJ for letting Max ramble and brain dump. Truly love this type of content after such a huge event.
from Strapped to the Ryder Cup.... a true cinderella story...
As I European, Max was fully embraced by our fans. Played some great, clutch golf and really embraced the spirit of the event. Huge credit to him. Hope there are more guys like him in future US teams.
God, Max is the best. Favorite golfer, favorite fanalysts, what a world. SO proud of Max.
Max is everything that is right about the sport. Love that kid.
Absolute top tier content, thanks boys! I could listen to Max talk about the Ryder Cup for days.
Max was a dawg that whole week.
And he could talk for days
what an amazing interview. Max is gold. The NLU guys are awesome. Love this.
Totally enthralled in the entire discussion about the 18th hole on Sunday. Thanks to the NLU guys for this and huge thanks to Max for the candor.
As a huge European fan who badly wanted to win, I couldn't help but root for Max to hole that putt on 18. No way did he deserve to "lose" the cup for the USA and was a huge credit to his team.
Max just seems like such a great guy. Was cheering on Europe but it was hard not to be impressed by Max’s play over the three days. He has such a great attitude and I hope he wins a big one soon
As a Brit living in California for 25 years Max is easily my favorite US player and is by far the most relatable because he’s really had to work on believing that he belongs in that elite group of players at the top of the game (a bit like Bob Macintyre on the Euro team in some ways, but Max is legit world top 10 now). He just seems like he has the most European mentality of the US team - that underdog who has to give 110%. He’s also genuinely funny as shit - his swing roasts on Twitter got me completely hooked as a follower. When so many tour pros are carefully cultivating their public image, Max has a refreshing “this is the real me, take it or leave it” attitude. Hoping he wins US Open in 2024.
Max, brilliant to see you play in person and best compliment I can give you is we discussed when there how we wished you were on our side 🙌🙌 keep doing your thing and be v v proud of the way you played and how you held yourself Sir.
Max is one of my favorite players ever since strapped. I was never a fan of Cantlay until this Ryder Cup.
Max is the absolute best. He’s must watch tv.
Best Ryder Cup interview and podcast yet! So cool to get that in depth with the mental side of playing a Ryder Cup.
If Max does a Billy Ho and plays some DPWT events and some YT golf with Shielsy and Peter Finch he’ll quickly become Europe’s favorite American golfer.
Not sure if going to Europe helps the PIP!
Wow. Europe fan. Loved Max in Ryder cup but even more so after this. Top top bloke
I mentioned to my buddies in the golf group chat that max looked like he was vibrating on that first tee. Haha! Glad to have it confirmed. Much love to max and y’all. Great stuff.
This was must watch! The best post match report on the Ryder Cup I have seen on the internet. Thanks for the insight Max!
Best golf interview ever. Max is simply the best.
Gotta love Max Homa. What an awesome podcast being able to hear the behind the scenes info.
Wish I could like this more than once! Was rooting for Europe but Team Max all the way!!
What a moment on 18 with the penalty drop, up and down clutch
Incredible stuff Max, coming from a brit, you really did it the right way
Amazing insight. Thanks so much
Interesting interview. great job in getting the US team's best player. Very interesting juxtaposition to how the European players speak though. There was a lot of talk about growing as an individual. For his professional improvement.
Heartwarming. Thanks Max
Amazing interview. Avid European team supporter since the 90s but Max has the right stuff.
Huge props to Max. I was already a massive fan, and it's just getting better and better. Can't wait for us to play against him in 2 years time.
Jet lag isn't a good excuse - a chunk of the European team live in the US. It just highlights a last-minute 'wing it' mindset. Same with practicing on the course.
Yes and they didn't have several weeks off before the Rder Cup.Max was only American who turned up and thats the reason they were so bad.
Cool, cool, cool - thank you, Max & NLU - love the BTS insights! My son played a tourney at The Home Course that Sunday and used Max's play as inspiration!
✌️💗⛳ Eric
I love his excitement and enthusiasm during his play and even in this interview. What a great golfer and great guy.
You can just feel max has the sweetest heart. Such a nice guy
Max Homa, my new favorite golfer. What a bulldog!!!
Max feels like a no bs guy. Great listen. Will be a fan going forward.
SO proud of this dude. We need 4 or 5 more him. Awesome role model. Beautiful interview.
This was a fantastic conversation. I could listen to Max talk about the RC all day.
What an incredible interview! Amazing, loved every minute. I’m now a European Max fan!
By far and away my favorite player just a stand up guy thats incredibly talented at golf.
Love you max. I do think, as a euro, that a higher percentage of assholes are beginning to attend these events and you see this at The Open as well. I hope in future Ryder Cups the teams will educate the patrons a little bit to try to keep one of the best things of golf, respect for the greatest.
Yea the euro crowd did get a bit out of hand at some points
@htibs5868 nowhere near as out of hand as the American crowd gets when europe goes over there. The Europeans have to deal with disgusting verbal abuse and shouting in their backswing.
@@kopite998that’s a myth
It’s just golf culture these days unfortunately. Courtesy of barstool sports and the like.
@@tknightttIt's absolutely not a myth, the US started this cancer culture of putting players off during their setups and during their shots. Bantering around the course is totally acceptable as long as it's not vile. Bethpage is going to be a mess, and will sadly be remembered for the fan troubles rather than the golf.
Boo, it's over. That was so great. Thanks so much Max and NLU boys. Yep, get over there earlier, less chance of getting sick on plane, jet lag is killer for me. Hope ur on that team too, dude!
Max is the best
Unashamed European Fan - Max Homer -legend that was such a brilliant interview and so so eye opening utterly brilliant.
Great interview guys. In my opinion the “breaks and luck” Europe enjoyed can be attributed to some extent to the course set up. The stats guys had an idea regarding tendencies etc and it worked out.
What a great interview 👍
Great podcast
As a European, huge respect and great appreciation for Max Homa's behavior and humility ... and play of course ; i wouldn't be surprised to see a wannamaker trophy soon on the shelf behind you 😊
My take: Europe just invested more time in the prep
- 9 out of 12 us players hadnt played in 5 weeks ...
- get to know the course before more than once (ie a dp world tour tournament happens yearly at Marco simone)
- know the pairs early (all the eur players teed off at Wentworth 2 weeks before .... watch hatton and rahm paired together at Wentworth and then surprise thats the #1 foursome pair that leads the charge day 1)
This was fantastic!!!! Thanks
Never heard Max speak before , what a really really nice guy .
This was awesome, what a treat that you guys are buds with one of the most integral and likeable dudes on tour currently. @Max Im sure you wont read this but i think people boo'd you because they most likely thought you were getting a free drop and not a penalized unplayable.
As another European I also love Max-s attitude I went back to read about the origins of the Ryder cup with Samuel Ryder.....proud Lancastrian.that I am...It WAS a competion between America and Britain....with respect for the game...and each other...Not sure Im happy with the way its going...but when you hear players like Homa you have hope
Love how max throws in a pillow at the beginning of the pod
The money for play wasn’t a thing, except that one time we discussed it, and then there was the Netflix thing with Zander and his Dad. Doubt the Euros we’re having those discussions, just for once forget the money guys! You are all millionaires. All credit to Max for doing this and being so honest! Thank you for giving us the inside story. The whole event was incredible, and the prize was nothing but pride, that is priceless.
Hats off to you Sir Max - classy stuff (from the UK)
Great interview. And great commentary from DJ, even though I couldn't see him.
What a great guy Max Homa is. He played great for 3 days and was the MVP on the US team. He was insightful and admitted that Europe just played too well for 3 days
Huge fan of Max. The answer to the mental preparation was eye opening. US seemed to wing it whereas Donald & Europe definitely had a more structured approach to motivating each player individually & collectively
Yup me too! As a European, what a class act Max is!
I look forward to seeing Max as a Ryder Cup captain and vice captain in the future. Hopefully in Europe.
Max Homa, you legend. Class act. Englishman 🫡
Max is clearly one the most charismatic golfers on tour. Max resonates very well with European fans. We were a group of six Germans in Rome and Max was the favorite US golfer of all of us ( we are fans since your BDS episode). Play a few DPWT Events and I am sure you build a big fan base in Europe
Brilliant interview from Max, he sums up why the Ryder cup is so special and unique .As an Irish European supporter we hope to see you in Adare Castle in 2027. But Europe to win of course.
more video pods please!
Max is going to have a monster 2024 with a first major win
Max is the greatest
God I fucking love Max Homa, what a great interview. His answers are SO good.
Greetings from Europe. Max played great.
I want to see an NLU Film Room (scramble format)with Max and TC on the course together...this would be brutal for TC. Max would show no mercy!!!😄
This was awesome
Ya gotta love how you barely have to ask Max a question and he fills 7 minutes. Best interviewee in golf.
Wish they could get the clips from the Ryder Cup so we can watch em while Max narrates it.
Man, Max is just the greatest.
shots fired maximus...love Max
Post mortem on the Tron drive-by, Max naming names today 😂
Max called him an internet clown as gently as possible.
As a Canadian, It is interesting to hear Max say the US team is a lot more casual and relaxed in the President's Cup then the Ryder Cup. There may be something to that as to why the US has dominated the President's Cup both home and away and has more difficulty with the Ryder Cup.
Disparity of talent.
Max is a great guy
You were 1% down due to hayfever. Max you were brilliant and so brave on 18. I am a fan. You nearly had it around 3 pm, then in a flash it escaped. I am British, but i am proud of you and your team. I an worried fof Chicago. CANTLEY WAS GREAT, TOO.
I'm a Euro fan but didn't want Max to lose. Class act and a bloody good golfer.
My new favorite PGA player! The best!
Max is a classy guy
Reminds me of a young Scott Piercy but more fire and sass. Probably the best internet personality on tour too, dudes a gem ♥
Max put in work for the US Team.
Max for President 🫡
Wait til it hits Adare Manor in Ireland.... atmosphere will be crazy good!! Hopefully Max is there, def fav US player now with all respect to Scottie Sheffler.
Jamie made that story up to try and disrupt the US club room! He also tried to give the fans some dirt to use.
We have to get there a day or 2 earlier. We need to play a event to be in tournament shape golf sharp prior to the Cup.
He is a thoughtful and intelligent bloke
How bad does Tron look? Shocker
Need NLU to make Jamie Weir address the tweet next time he’s on the pod! Anyways, love Max so happy he finally got to play in a Ryder cup and played well.
Europe owned 1 and 18 and it set the tone in almost every single match
My homie...was tough rooting against him but business is business
I love Max & Joe.. And, clutch up and down/putt on 18.. But, WTF was he doing on 16 hitting driver after Fitz rinsed one. I'm 20 min in and still haven't even heard that mentioned.
Funny to hear Max call out Jamie Weir lol
maybe NLU's greatest episode.
I see it as this. Someone has to lose, you could play amazing but if you play 0 01% less than your opponent you lose. Doesn't mean the US team weren't playing well or the best they could on any given day. I'm glad Homa said he lost be he still enjoyed it.
So much admiration for what Max did last week. One of the only Americans that gave a shit, huge respect
During our RC broadcast in Poland, we knew almost immediately that Max took unplayable, thanks to our great commentators. Now it turns out that most of the people in the World did not know that, at that moment.
Yeah - the crowd was booing because they thought he got free relief for some reason.
Max starts off strong with an upper deckie
Props to the guy in the middle for his effort to properly light himself for this appearance lol.
Need to see Max and Tron in the same room
@Max, we love you too and hated you on the course.💛💙
Respect to Max, as a European, he is one of the only guys on that american team that seems genuine. But, you have to understand a few things. The crowd moving in behind players transitioning to the next hole; quite a common occurrence in both Europe and american Ryder Cups. The crowd booing you taking the drop; you have to understand the background behind this. You've had people like Reed on your team in the past, who bend the rules to their advantage. I think that is why you were booed, because the crowd thought you were paying dirty, which wouldn't be an unreasonable assumption, but unfortunately they didn't realise the whole situation. Lastly, the presenters idea that crowds shouldn't boo players basically at all; Whistling Straits would like a word. People in glass houses etc.
