Hi Lorna, I am very happy to hear that the outstanding issues have been resolved. I know you were a bit unhappy with those bits early on, but this reaffirms the quality of your Narrowboat provider. Very good. You are RIGHT to paint all damaged painted areas, anything that is not properly painted can indeed rust or corrode. As if you are in the Navy: If it moves, salute it, if it doesn't move, PAINT it.
Hello Lorna, you have a nice narrowboat. I especially like the length, this has changed my thought of owner a much longer boat. Its good the boat builder is taking care of the issues. But the pencil marks sloppy final checks look forward to future videos
Well done on getting the issues sorted out. It can be frustrating when you know that things aren’t right but it isn’t accepted. At least Aintree have now been responsive and you are getting the boat how you want it 👍
Hi Lorna, The condensation is when warm air and cool air meet. It is also due to a lack of air circulation. If it continues to be a problem one can purchase mushroom vents with built in fans. A couple of them, one forward and one aft will do a lot to rectify the problem. Fog and mist is actually condensation on a large scale. Touching up the paint work will be an on going project. Sorry to hear that you came down with a chest infection Lorna but it's great that the problems had been sorted out and did wonder during the video 'what about the paint work that scratched during what happened in the tunnel' until you brushed onto that subject but it's good that Foxglove had a good touch up with the paint, great update
Aww, so sorry you are not well. I'm pleased to see Aintree stepping up and fixing stuff but TBH the state of the craft at handover was inexcusably bad so they darn well should be fixing it. For the condensation, you have solar, it may be worth having a 12-volt fan forced vent fitted in place of one or more of the passive ones, a bit of airflow will make a huge difference. Obviously purchasing a mains voltage dehumidifier for use at the mooring is the ultimate answer but they are not the cheapest of devices. Take it easy and get well soon. EDIT: Also, speaking of condensation, fill her up when you get back to the marina, keeping the tank of diesel reduces the amount of condensate buildup. Make sure yo use a diesel fuel treatment as well. Since your use is infrequent, she's a prime candidate for fuel bug and it's a lot easier to prevent than it is to treat and kill.
Good to see you got the boat fixed, hope your eye gets better soon. I think touching in paintwork maybe needed quite often, such a beautiful looking boat.
Repairs accomplished! Yay! Nice paint touch up. So sorry you are not feeling well…hopefully a bit better now. Also sorry about those bungs. 🤔 Maybe you could make new covers from a happy fabric. (And send them a bill.)😎🤗❤️🥰
Super on the Aintree repairs!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also on getting the heater going! And also on that condensation - that can be a killer for colds!! Get well quickly! Eye drops? FoxGlove is looking fabulous!
Nice positive update. As a new to boating live aboard, I need to get on top of the condensation thing. Your boat looks lovely and well done on the maintenance
That was an enjoyable catchup, good to hear aintree are finally doing there service well ,some of those scratches were from that impatient boater in the tunnel, hope your eye gets better soon 👀🤭🙂
So glad you have your snags sorted. I have never had a new boat but have had a few new cars and they always need snagging and it's annoying but seems to be the norm. Hope your feeling better, stay well and snug.
Sorry to hear that you're not feeling well. I hope that you get well soon. Nice update video but I was wondering if I missed a previous update on your speed issue. Did you get a different prop or is this just the way it's going to be?
Its good to hear that customer service was so effective for you. Thats a big investment, and it should be right. I would still stay with them for the porthole covers. They may not have made them, but their supplier did and it was part of the contracted decor. YOU may be able to spill coffee on them and cause a stain, but thats your right. They should not have stains and be discolored from being piled in a corner, out of mind, leftovers or display models left laying around. You did say they are the wrong color. Maybe if they were a nice contrasting color to break up lines, or show a change in living space demarcation. Otherwise they should match, or if they ran out of desired color, admit it and supply something close, in desired numbers, again with your assent. It may not be the dealers fault that you had to wait so long for an engine, etc, but they contracted to deliver a product to your specs, from a supplied list, by a certain date. You have been put off and delayed well after contracted time frames. It may just be a tiny toy boat to someone in that chain they deal with, but it is what you wanted. Make them make it right. You paid for it, get your money's worth. Hope it works out well. Stay safe and enjoy yourself.
Great that Foxglove is now fettled, and you are on top of ongoing bits 😀 If you are on shore power at moorings, it may be worth investing in a powered dehumidifier? We did, and it not only dries everything out, but also works as a low power fan heater- plenty to take the chill off in the morning when we wake up (after the fire has gone out over night- yes, we could bank it up, but prefer not to burn that much fuel). Anyway, look forward to your further videos!
Glad all is OK with the boat. And will be the same for you soon.......As I sit in bed catching up on RUclips there was something odd about your video.... then the penny dropped. My wife's dressing gown is on the back of our bedroom door.......with its twin on you in the video. With an excited shout i pointed this amazing fact out to my wife who just shook her head and tutted........😂😂😂. Take care and just enjoy your boat
I don’t know. I spent two years with people shouting at me that I was being too nice. Made one video where I was less nice and got slated for being rude about them. You can’t win on the internet
Go girl you must have paid enough for your boat.lots of cowboy builders in boats and housing issues.had a few that was Approve for government grants stealing things for the loft things .heard a smash, thought they was removing it but kept going down and putting things into there van.did awful job but no where to report them.instead of removing stuff as promised they put the insulation on top x
As far as getting weeds tangled up…. I recently saw a video on youtube (trying to find it in my history) that was a new feature on prop shafts to combat rope tangling. Essential its two circular saw blades, one mounted to the prop housing that fixed, and the other is mounted onto the prop shaft and rotates with the shaft …it shreds a rope instead of allowing it to become entangled …. Seems like it could really chew up weeds in the same manner
There's never enough time or money to do it right the first time, but always time and money to do it again... what about the propulsion issue, did they have any idea why the propeller seems to be so undersized?
Sorry to hear you’ve been sick. Hope the eye heals and you can cancel the order for the parrot.🦜 Glad that the problems with the boat have been sorted out, so by Christmas all will be perfect. Happy Christmas 🎄

Nice to hear Aintree is backing up their work and rectifying their mistakes. Please take care and stay warm and heal.

Moist air and cold surfaces are the issue in a narrowboat. Leaving a previously warm boat to cool down is going to lead to condensation.

A fabulous video from Lorna Jane Adventures ! You are absolutely rocking that painting uniform 😍
It hides the paint splashes, too! 🙂

I’ll think about changing it when the boat is out of the water, but I won’t lift it out just for that
I'm glad they came and sorted most of it for you. I use the aero 360 things in my boat, they seem to work with condensation

Your wife has wonderful taste
@lornajaneadventures ... well ofcourse she has, she picked me
Aintree have done themselves no favours. A real Scally deal…
You're too nice about Aintree. The amount of time it took to build the boat it should have been perfect.
I don’t know. I spent two years with people shouting at me that I was being too nice. Made one video where I was less nice and got slated for being rude about them. You can’t win on the internet
@@lornajaneadventuresjust be yourself. You are lovely.
Get better soon...
how about an electric dehumidifier draining into the sink and a tube heater left on the boat to provide a low level heat source in the bilge
I had similar, it was a pillow ..allergic reaction. Cats got it now. Err the pillow that is lol.
Happy Days
Lorna🤗👍🌹
We have very similar style and size boat just wondering are you having any issues with the alaminium window frames getting damp and wet
Everything was soaked when I came up. But yes, the window frames are often damp

We use such a device on yachts called a rope-cutter. A decent chandler will have them.
Looks to me that they only used a top coat. Should have used an oil based sealer binder primer undercoat and two coats of oil based top coat.
Lorna, how is the BSS training going? an update would be interesting...
There's never enough time or money to do it right the first time, but always time and money to do it again... what about the propulsion issue, did they have any idea why the propeller seems to be so undersized?
They said lots of customers say the same but they go by the manufacturer recommendation
Looks as if your roof vents are not working. Contact David🇦🇺🙏👍
Ummmmm not sure I’d be as polite regarding Aintree…. This is basic attention to detail… great pleasant vlog… get well soon
Be sure you get a can of touch up paint.
Did they have any comment in regards to the lack of actual propulsion?
They fit them to the manufacturer’s standards
Your looking tired and exhausted ? Maybe seeing as it is winter take a break for a time and recharge your batteries ? Respect.
Lorna IMO you did not damage your boat, the impatient boater in the tunnel caused the damage.
Sorry to hear you’ve been sick. Hope the eye heals and you can cancel the order for the parrot.🦜 Glad that the problems with the boat have been sorted out, so by Christmas all will be perfect. Happy Christmas 🎄
