A little info about the song Köprüden Geçti Gelin in the video: the name means that the Bride had passed the bridge and the song is a folk song originally performed by famous Turkish poet-singer Neşet Ertaş . Turkish alphabet is a phonetic sign system. There is one unique sound for each letter. Very regular and easy:
A : as in Alaska (always)
E : as its first appearance in Elder (always)
    C : as J in "John" (this can be hard :) )
J : Sounds like the last sound of the French pronunciation of "Lagrange"
Ç : as ch in "cheer"
Ğ : Like a soft w from throat (does not exist in english)
Ş : Like sh in sherwood
    Ö : Like in German .. e.g.: österrich
    Ü : Like in German .. e.g.: über
We also have a dotless i "ı" that sounds like the e in "parker".

Central Asian immigration to Turkey (through the Muhacir wave) brought a large variety of new instruments and styles of music (especially Kazakh and Uzbek drone-type vocals) to the Turkish mainstream by the mid-1960s, influencing the birth of the genre also. The general "disorganisation" of Central Asian music production also found its way into Anatolian rock, creating a sound that was chaotic but beautiful because it was chaotic and disorderly.

If anyone needs a western focused intro to this genre, listen to The Flying Microtonal Banana by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard :)))

Hey man thanks for covering this topic. I am from Turkey and I love many western classics from the 70s, it is such a shame that so many people in the west don't know about these amazing artists and all these original sounds because of a language barrier. I hope more people check out some amazing music so I won't feel so alone :D

Also another rap song, "Easy Rider" by Action Bronson contains samples from both of these tracks: "Adımız Miskindir Bizim" by Mazhar & Fuat, and "Bunalım" by Grup Bunalım.
