Jump Training WORKOUT TEMPLATE (How To Jump Higher)

- This is a standard jump training workout I usually do, which is also similar to the workouts that I prescribe for my clients. It's important to do your speed and plyometric exercises first, then progress to power, then develop strength. If you start with strength exercises, such as heavy squats and deadlifts, you will be less explosive and dynamic when you get to your jumping specific exercises. You will also condition your nervous system to be slower, which is not good for jumping higher. Try using this jump training workout template and see if it helps you increase your vertical jump.

I just started working on this program for the past week and it is pretty cool. I'm pretty tall but I don't really have any jumping power. I was able to grab the rim of a basketball hoop with one hand but after a week of this along with some other people's videos I can now jump up and grab the rim with two hands. I have also been getting into volleyball recently and your videos have definitely helped me spike better with being able to jump higher and more properly.

Hey coach I have a couple questions for you. I've been working on my dive, I watched your videos and been watching how athletes do it, and I've been doing more it often, it's kinda coming naturally now. BUT, today when I dove, I felt like my neck kinda whiplashed. My coach's assistant, who also plays volleyball said that that way of diving is for men. What do you think I should do? I am diving wrong or is normal for my neck to hurt? Should I keep doing it or find another way of diving?
Should I substitute my leg workout day for this or do it on a separate day?

Hey Donny! Quick question but typically when i'm jumping (standing vs with an approach) my vert doesn't necessarily get higher? I tried looking at my jumping form (weight transfer) but couldn't find anything major. Any tips or suggestions? thanks
How often (how many times a week) should I do this program so I won't over fatigue/burn out the muscles?
*I'm 5'9" and my vertical height is that I can touch the basketball board if the answer of that question would vary based on my athletic level
Hi coach Donny! Always looking forward to your jump training vids. I have noticed some guys have these kick backs when jumping. Others dont do these at all. It looks like you are kneeling in the air then the heels approaches and almost touch your hams. Have you noticed these? What do you think causes these? It might be a key to reverse engineer jumping techniques.

plyometrics is just jump and speed based training. Thinks like box jumps, or jumping over/around cones, etc.
