Thank YOU very much indeed for presenting the only Academy Award winning score of this rare French master since most of the other RUclipsrs selected Vivaldi. Please allow me to share my previous review in Amazon some years ago. Again, thank YOU!! Reviewed in the United States on June 16, 2011 A little Romance - Winning Score 1979 / Classic Soundtrack No one today writes more heartbreaking and graceful music than this rare American French master who sadly buried in Glendale in 1992. His Academy winning score A Little Romance is incredible, timeless and truly gorgeous!! It is very naïve for anyone who stereotypes our late Mozart of Cinema (le Mozart des salles obscures) Georges Delerue just only in easy listening melodic style particular argue involve a very small portion of Vivaldi music in the album in which he just fulfilled director George Roy Hill's request mingle via his unique orchestration since he come from a very strong classically trained background (first honor graduated in Paris Conservatory and under tutor Darius Milhaud, 1892 - 1974 who's also teacher for Dave Brubeck 1920 - 2012). His great talent truly reflects on many of his beautiful masterpieces like Jules & Jim; Anne of the 1000 Days; A Man For All Seasons; Interlude; Day of The Dolphin; Our Mother's House; Crimes of the Heart and the lists go on and on. He composed more than 300 TV and film scores over his 40 years working in film industry. Delerue marks France history and he's the first composer or perhaps the only one who received 3 Cesar Awards "consecutively" (1979 / 80 / 81) together 1 Academy in 1979. His significant contributions could walk pair the global number one most prolific hero Ennio Morricone if Georges Delerue is still living with us. In the music of this winning score, you would immensely love and taste the tuneful swing jazz via European music style blended his unique orchestration and counterpoint. Delerue music is as sweet as French pastry and fine wine which truly exhibit the other fireworks of the composer. All the music in this album could be stand alone and appreciate independently. I had very good fortune of meeting and dining with this "genuine friendly" film musician and his wife Colette at their beautiful house in Los Angeles December 1990. How many past or present film composers would offer such kind gesture to his fans? This winning score is utterly worth of buying for countless enjoyed. It's your mistake if you lose.
