    This information is super helpful to those of us who can't afford to just "buy a new one" everytime something goes wrong, thank you!!!
    I have a Kitchenaid that's (only?) four years old, and for the past year or so it's been turning on by itself and shutting down mid-cycle, some of the LEDs have stopped working and sometimes the buttons don't work... unplugging it and plugging it back in usually solves the problem. Since seeing this video I decided to open it up and I found much of the wiring has melted into this black hard rubber (insulation?) lining the tub... the wiring insulation is not damaged, so it was the black rubber lining that had melted... also, my computer was not mounted anywhere but was simply hanging from the wiring. Is is possible that the water temp got too hot in the tub? When I bought the dishwasher I turned up the heat at the water heater to ensure the dishes would clean. I have recently adjusted the water temp at the water heater but I'm still having the same problem, I'll probably have to replace the circuit board... any help would be so appreciated, I've got 5 kids, my wallet and my sanity can't afford for this thing to go out lol

    My KitchenAid dishwasher has been acting like it has short in the panel for about a month now, and today (on Easter Sunday) it completely stopped lighting up and working at all. So after reading on another thread about the vent on the top, alongside the control panel being a bad placement because of steam possibly getting inside the panel, I had the idea to get out the hairdryer to dry it out. I then let it sit about 30 minutes before trying to turn it on and it worked! Long story short...try a blow dryer first. Happy Easter!

    Be aware that on some KitchenAid models, in addition to the 10 screws on the back side (as shown in the video: 3 each side and 4 across the top), there is also one accessed from the front side, right underneath the door handle. This last one also has to be removed in order to remove the door panel and gain access for the rest of the video steps.

    Great video. I have KDTE704DPA0 and the Top Rack and Pro Scrub lights flicker. None of the other buttons work. I unplugged it as well as turned it off at the breaker for 5 minutes to let it reset and I get the same result. This occurred a couple of weeks ago and then worked for a bit. Now it is back. I cannot find anything that speaks to this particular issue anywhere and KAid was useless.

    It is great that people are posting videos like this! I have an issue with my model kudc10fxss5. We select a cycle, it makes sounds like it is going to work as normal, but then nothing. I do not think it is pulling in water. I know that water is on to it, because it just stopped working on a random day. Of course my warranty expired 6 days ago.... I hope it is not something that is really bad. Any ideas? I made sure the float was free and moving easily.

      Kevin
      First of all try to call Whirlpool and see if they will cover the issue, they always have a grace period on their warranty's. If its not getting any water you may have a bad inlet water valve. Is it filling with water at all ?

    Clearly explained, thank you. The light on mine is blinking so I'm guessing the entire module needs replacement. Or, would the light be on a different circuit and the reason it doesn't work still only be the fuse? Thanks again.

    Hey there AV guys, GREAT video. I was excited hoping it was going to help me, I was looking at my mom's dishwasher, the EXACT same model but...but, that fuse/thermostat you replaced her's does not have. The space is empty. You can tell something was designed to be there. Last week her dishwasher just stopped. There is power going to the unit and from the circuit board but the control panel seems dead, no lights or anything. But when I disconnect and reconnect the control panel you hear a little click sound. Any ideas why the SAME model would not have that fuse and what may be the issue? Power seems to be everywhere, but no lights on the control board and won't do anything. Thanks a lot! :-)

    I have Kitchen Aid Dishwasher, Model KDTE254ESS1, this has just the manual on your appliancevideo.com website. My issue is that nothing happens when you push any button. Only 3 buttons in the Options part of the control board flash. The Hi-Temp Wash, Sani Rinse, and 2-4-8 Hr Delay buttons flash alternatively. I tried turning off the breaker for 5min but that did not fix it. Does my washer have a fuse to replace? Do i need to change something else?

    This was my problem exactly, but now when I turn on the power two led lights are lit about half brightness. The washer is working ok. We have ran a few loads, but it's not the same as it was. We didn't have any lights when it was off. It also doesn't seem to be cleaning well. I replaced the thermal fuse, but unfortunately a wash or two later the same problem occurred. It's been suggested that possibly the heater or motor is drawing higher amperage. What would happen if I bypassed the thermal fuse all together? Keep in mind the dishwasher is also fused at the house electrical panel.

    • @Appliancevideo
      @Appliancevideo  10 лет назад +1

      Brian
      It is not recommended to bypass the thermal fuse. I know recently Whirlpool just came out with new thermal fuse kit due to the fuses blowing prematurely. The new kit comes with heavier gage wire and terminals. Take your model number and call our parts department to see if your model takes this kit. If it does it will rectify your issue. 1-800-830-5465. Matt Ace technician

      ***** So i guess, it's just a low quality fuse.

      RK1265
      We have found that power spikes into homes can cause this issue. If you lose power to your home high or low voltage spikes will cause it, or sometimes just a weak fuse. If it happens a second time, you need to check wiring and motor amperage.

    KitchenAid dishwasher has power, when start button is pushed it attempts to cycle on but after 10 seconds the cancel button is illuminated. I've powered down the dishwasher from the breaker box. Is it possible the fuse is the problem?
