Great video! I'd love to see the amp vs receiver comparison in the future. I noticed a huge difference going from an AVR to separate amp on my Gen 1 RF-7's.
Thanks for watching! I really want to see this as well. The room change will for sure come into play but the amp makes a world of difference. Stay tuned. Hope to shoot something like this in the near future. -Jason
I just rebuilt my theatre room w/ 2 rf 7 iiis as the fronts, and reference premiers for the other 9 channels, and man are these guys beasts. Not only do they compliment well, but they are kind of bullying the rest of the speakers. The other day i got almost half way through a movie before i realized i was in stereo and not atmos!!! they completely filled the room with sound that i didnt realize until i came to a part that i knew i should have had some prominent surrounds. yalls comparison videos are really great, and like others have mentioned, i'd love to see some comparisons w/ amps too. thanks for putting these out.
Thanks for watching! We still hope to do amp compares in the future but are working out kinks in how to format the videos. Stay tuned. Hopefully more to come on that in the future. :) -Jason
Just have to say this is the most interesting review of any "between generations" I've ever seen. Love this! - Yeah, the more power for the RF-7, the more it sings. Shows also how much actual work goes in Klipsch R&D and engineering to get these to a proper "new generation" level. Nevertheless, if/when a new gen comes out, I'll be here to check it out with you guys. The horns are where it's at. Even if I listen to other speakers and I might like what they do in the mids and lows, they can't quite beat the highs in clarity and separation. It often makes the "complete package" always more appealing for me in the Klipsch line-up. - The certain kind of warmness also appeals so strongly even if it's more "studio sound" with these compared to the Heritage line, as the world is cold enough as it is. Good job, PDH-TV!
Thank you and thanks for watching! There is for sure a gap in the two. The people in Indy and Hope really take it to that next level in every new design. -Jason
My buddy just got the RF7 III and I just got the RP8000-F. He likes my 8000s just a little more than his RF7, I think mainly because the room sizes and different setups we have. I'm in a 12x12 room with just a Denon AVS500-BT (5.2) and he's in a 14x30 room in his basement home theater with a newer higher end Denon receiver (9.2.4) and 2 of the brand new Emotiva XPA-7 gen 3 amps. He has a lot of reflection yet as we are still working on collecting acoustic panels and curtains for dampening. My room is pretty crowded. So.... I'm loving this series and looking forward to seeing a comparison between the RP8000-F and the new gen RP8000-F II.
Thanks for watching! If reflection is your issue, the curtains and panels should help a great deal. The room plays such a huge role in the sound of the system. I'm sure once you guys get that taken care of and positioning squared away, he will love em. I can't wait for the new vs old 8ks either! Gonna be an awesome battle. -Jason
If you own RF7-IIs and wondering if changing to the IIIs are worth it- there is a simple implement which makes the IIs sound much more refined. Before getting into that, I listened to both of these videos through Klipsch Corwalls. At first, the 2s sounded better to me, but then when they got to "The Value of All", the 3s had a noticably better mid range. I still liked the high end response better on the 2s, i.e. 5k hz and up, but I'd take the 3s. Somewhere in between each would be great. What I did on my 2s which made them sound much better and balanced, more suitable for two channel listening, is to simply remove one leg of the binding post bridge and replace it with an audio grade capacitor to cross the horn at 6khz with a first order roll-off, so that you still get a frequency response down to the international crossover on the horn, but it is greatly smoothed out. I suspect that Klipsch did something similar to the crossover on the 3s. My 2s with that cap modification sound a lot more like the 3s then the 2s unmodified. Obviously if you do this mod, you need to plug your cables into the bottom speaker taps, not the top. I really like that the guys made these videos. Had I not the 2s, I'd go for the 3s for sure, especially since I have the 3s version of the center channel. It's all good 👍
I love my RF-7 II speakers. I've never heard the version III, but always wanted to. I had the version 1 for a little while and I was never a fan of them, but love the version 2.
I have the RF-7III and if you want to know what they can do you have to put a very reliable amplifier in my case I have a Classé CA-2300 (300W Per Channel at 8 ohms - 600 at 4 ohms) and they really are incredible, thank you very much through the videos, you can see the effort and work there.
Thanks for watching! We love running these tests and this was a great one for sure. in the future we will probably stick to a JC5 for these compares but it was fun to see how each speaker handled the provided power...whether it be a larger or smaller amount. It really keys the efficiency and puts other components to the test as well. -Jason
I’m not gonna go buy any rf7iiis but what I will do is keep my rf7iiis for some time to come. But if I didn’t already own those speakers by watching these videos I probably would. I appreciate all of these vids brings me a lot of happiness and helps me learn a lot at the same time. Also, videos like this make me love my speaker even more and I already was very passionate about them. I thought the idea you guys had to test the speaker with the weak AVR and the strong power amp was a really good idea and that would be a very interesting video to watch. I’d also still be very interested almost more so to do a redo on the heritage line vs rf7iii with a more capable dedicated power amp. Awww I see so you guys do listen to abunch of other stuff when doing these comparison videos you just can’t show all of it because you don’t have the artists permission. I could give you guys a ton of cuts that would probably blow y’all’s mind to test with these speakers. Last thing these speakers are so amazing and I feel so blessed to be able to own them and they have lots and lots of bass more bass than I’ve ever heard in a tower speaker but when you have a capable subwoofer to use them with it just opens up to a whole other ballpark of craziness. Like I said in a previous comments in the previous videos I use a jtr captivator4000ulf and oh my god if you guys could hear that thing I know you would be like a kid in a candy store and giddy with excitement I wish I could show you my set up and it just lets the speaker shine even more and it just complements both of them and it’s honestly insane. Love all these videos and can’t wait for more to come.
Thanks a lot and thanks for watching! We are always happy to hear you guys are enjoying the content. If you ever want to share your setup/show us what you're working with, pics and videos are always welcome on the Klipsch Owners facebook page. Trey and I are always scoping out posts over there and love checking out awesome gear. -Jason
Thanks for watching! If we dig out any more evidence or quotes somewhere, we will update you guys. As for right now, we will just call it speculation but Trey thinks this is how they were laid out. -Jason

They are both awesome. If you do get the chance to hear the IIIs in person, drop us a line and let us know what you think!

Thanks for watching!

I wish Klipsch made them 2.5 way, though I don't have any evidence to suggest they are.
Thanks for watching! If we dig out any more evidence or quotes somewhere, we will update you guys. As for right now, we will just call it speculation but Trey thinks this is how they were laid out.

acts like a MID BASS...
What?
Little bit of everything in these.
-Jason
Could you try doing demos with rap and electronic music next time it could be nice to ear other genres
We do test other tracks while off camera but, unfortunately we can only air the tracks we have permission to use. New tracks are constantly rolling in and we hope to widen our range that we can air in the future.
