    It's worth the money! We live out west and often drive our RV to Disneyland but stay in hotels. When we drove out to Disney World we stayed at Fort Wilderness.💗💕 We stayed 8 days, it was amazing 😍. Price is relative, we see it as much less than a hotel 🤣😂

    We stay at the Fort about twice a year since we bought our first trailer and now our Class C. If you compare it to hotels, being able to save on food and you want to be on property it’s worth it. We live east of tampa, but far enough that we don’t drive back and forth every day from the parks. We only spend a half day anyway in the parks. We never ever pay for golf carts.

    So, that's the cheeky ray of sunshine who makes O'Pa excited to spend $400 plus at Fort Wilderness, a thing he swore he'd never do. 😂 Seeing her in the teacup ride was priceless.
    I thoroughly enjoyed this video and thank you for sharing. Continued safe and happy travels, Rachel and Joe.👍🏾❤️🙏🏾

    We love Fort Wilderness. While it’s expensive, it’s not always about the money. You can’t beat the convenience especially with a golf cart. I’ve also travelled with my daughter and grandchildren several times and having your own space and kitchen is a wonderful Disney option. We normally do one day in the park and the following day at the campsite (day on/day off) and sometimes don’t even go in the park until after 4pm. Occasionally they offer annual pass discounts on the campsites in the summer, but October is an amazing time to spend at Fort Wilderness.

    My wife and I have stayed at Fort Wilderness around six times, and coming from Pennsylvania, it was always an adventure. Our first time was in 1993 with our first and ththe place was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. Then, the rest of our visits were with our kids. Our first visit cost us $32.00 a night with a discount card ( Magic Kingdom club , which they did away with) it was the most magical time we ever had there. As time went on, we would go with our kids, and even though they didn't see the changes, we did, and they weren't nice. Amenities got worse , and prices started to go through the roof. It's to the point now that I'm glad we went when we did. I'll have to think REAL hard before we go back. And that goes for all of Disney World. Their losing or maybe lost the magic.

    Our first time staying at the Fort was 1979 and we have stayed more than 25 times since then. I can say so much about it and will say it will be worth it for some and won’t be for others. It is about opinion. Thank you for sharing details about the Fort. One thing that everyone gets too focused on is golf carts and transportation in the campground and to the parks. We do it with a golf cart sometimes and sometimes without (we use our bikes or the buses and miss the trams that used to go around the campground). As for transportation to the parks and around the Disney bubble there is options and you can make it part of the experience. Remember to slow down and enjoy your vacation and make the memories you set out to make with your family!

    As not only an Orlando resident, but a multi-generational Floridian, who doesn't have an annual pass to any of the parks, you nailed it. I meet people who come year after year after year and great for them - but... Absolutely correct about essentially a hostage at Disney with the distance to the stores being impactable. Disney, and the other theme parks want you to spend your money there...not at the competitors. Ft Wilderness, absolutely one time for the experience and bonus for combining with other intangibles like with grandchildren and family. My problem is while one grandchild may be drawn to Disney, the other is Sea World. You are right, there is a lot to do in the Orlando area and not all of it is a "take out a second mortgage" with Universal, Sea World, Disney, Legoland, Kennedy Space Center and even Busch Gardens. There are so many other activities in an around Orlando that cost so much less, and some were the original tourist attractions either local or an easy daytrip. I know you have been to Wekiva and Blue Springs State parks. Don't know if you have cooked your own pancakes at Deleon Springs SP. And that is only scratching the surface as haven't started on the beaches. One of my favorite is Wetlands Park (no pets for obvious reasons) with a great boardwalk recently completed but walking among the alligators - my avatar photo about 10' away with no barriers between me an the gator. Best advice - get out and enjoy Orlando and Central Florida.

    • @2KrazyKampers
      @2KrazyKampers  2 месяца назад

      Yes, Orlando and the State of Florida has so much to offer. As far as Theme Parks, I think Sea world has the best value. You can get their best Annual Pass for about $350 and it includes entrance to Sea World, Busch Gardens, Aquatica and all their other parks in the country. You get 40% off souvenirs and the Soda refills are $5 for the whole day. They also give you 6 free tickets per year to bring friends and lots of other perks. The only downside is they don't allow you to bring your own food or water in whereas the other parks do

    They just changed a bunch of rules at the Fort. If you bring a golf cart it needs to have insurance on it and no e-bike allowed anymore. With that said there is really no place better than staying at the fort on Halloween.

      @2KrazyKampers  2 месяца назад

      The thing is the cabins are actually cheaper than the RV spots if you are a Florida Resident or Annual Passholder. Disney considers Ft Wilderness campsites a value resort but the cabins aren't We can stay at many of the better Disney resorts for less than the cost of Fort Wilderness. We find that Disney isn't that expensive (especially when comparing it to other theme parks) if you do it right. Our annual pass is only $450 a year and you can bring in your own food and water. The annual pass also includes free parking. =

      I’m guessing you will see a price increase for the new FW Cabins. They are now part of the Disney Vacation Club. There are some cabins that are not DVC and can be reserved as a cash reservation. It’s possible that DVC Members may be able to book at a cheaper price for cash reservations at FW. We booked a site near a bus stop and took the internal bus around the campground and to the parks and Disney Springs. Didn’t need a golf cart. If you take the internal bus to the front of the campground, can you get on a bus to Epcot and the other parks? Part of my arrival day is a trip to the Super Walmart. It’s not that far away. Can get everything you need in one place.

  • @yankeesusa1
    @yankeesusa1 2 месяца назад +1

    I believe it's worth the money but you don't have to spend $230 a night. You just have to do your research. We did September 2023 with a discount for only $89 a night for full hookup. Without discount it would have been $113 a night. With that said, during holidays and certain times a year it's near impossible to get it under $150. By the way, according to wilderness princess website, not all premium loops are good for bigger rigs. Loop 500 is probably the best one for easy back in and many of the standard full hookups are better, preferred is the worse because it's original sites.

    • @2KrazyKampers
      @2KrazyKampers  2 месяца назад

      They have significantly raised the prices. I have also spoken with someone at Disney since I'm a Disney certified travel agent and was told the campgrounds are considered budget resorts and they are not applying a most of the discounts to the budget resorts. Even next January it is around $130 for a basic full hookup site and $165 for a premium site

      I love The Fort! So does my family. Staying in my own home at such a magical place is so much better than staying in a hotel. We used to drive from Colorado to The Fort every year for vacation. Now we full time and The Fort is still our favorite campground. We don’t always use them in our current rig, but the comfort stations are by far the cleanest and best of any we’ve ever been to. I’m not sure how wide you expect a site to be, but your site in the video was very wide imo. I love the privacy between spaces the trees provide. the campground was made for smaller rigs last century but they are very accommodating to help fit even big rigs. We have a 43’ fifth wheel and large truck and have sites that fit us just fine. You have to know which loops are for smaller rigs and which ones are good for big rigs. I hate that it’s gotten so expensive but what hasn’t? It’s worth saving for. We have Fort hats, sweatshirts, tshirts, camp chairs, backpacks, etc. Not sure why you couldn’t find good merch. The Chip and Dale show at 40 minutes was fun and plenty long. It was included in the price. You can’t get that and a Disney movie at Thousand Trails. None of the Disney hotels have direct transportation to all four parks besides bus. I love taking the boats! So magical! You can see the fireworks with audio and the electrical parade from the beach. You can do horseback riding as an adult. You can also do carriage and segue tours. There are two pools and a playground. Two stores and grocery delivery available. Staying in the Disney Bubble is part of the charm. Sometimes we go to the Fort and not even go to the parks. Love the theming and the feel. The background music simply makes me smile. It is by far our favorite campground ever!
