Never thought I would actually say this but looks like the new night elven capital is going to be a Horde city as well as an Alliance one and despite the recent truce and all people aren't exactly happy. Previous datamined hints were right, the new city is on the Dragon isles right undernearth Amirdrassil and despite the controversies it actually looks great. It isn't named Darnassus but Bel'ameth and it is gigantic with so many new models, so many new NPCs and even a night elven paladin that we had just discovered. This is the PTR of course but most of the city is actually there, with some encryptions and bits that are work in progress but let's see what this new city looks like, why exactly is it neutral and how this seems like a setup for most cities becoming neutral in the future.

00:05:06 Night elf Paladin? For God Sake. Lets get back like to Legion expansion to exactly Paladin class order. Night Elf Priest Delas Moonfang change class to Paladin. Yup thats the exact kneeling nigh elf lass paladin there. With that said we can all say that Night Elves can be paladins since Legion expansion but such option was not given. Still iam waiting for it. I hope more races could be Paladins as well as Shamans (since Draenei can be Rogue ) About new Night Elves capital to be a neutral zone like Dalaran. Iam fine with it as well as long as Lordareon will become neutral to.

Well any race that can be a priest, can make a paladin isnt too far fetched or impossible. If you remember or know the lore, the first paladins were nothing more than knights who can use light. So I kind of understand that. What is still a big bs for me is, Nelf mages... And how blizzatd handled their fans when ct came out. Basically the nelfs promised they will never use magic after they sundered azeroth. And blizz simply said "now they can".
Btw if undeads can be priests they should have let us make undead paladins.

I think the idea was less about making it horde but bringing all the different elves together. That being said, I still hate the idea based on the same reasons everyone else has already said. The Nightelf genocide was THE worst idea the devs came up with, and after all that happened in shadowlands that's a high bar to climb over. Making it horde in any way really feels like yet another terrible betrayal for the Alliance. They should have made the new world tree cross over from the dream into Teldrassil reviving it then built a 'new Darnassus" with a revamp.

Their name is Delas Moonfang, and they sorta began their pathway of becoming a Paladin back in WoD, by slaying and hunting Iron Horde and demons on Draenor around the Garrison. In WoD she was a priest who would wear white cloth with some Classic plate pieces and a bow, but come legion, she left the Netherlight Temple, after acquiring some demonic runestones to study in Dalaran. She was approached by her friend the Tauren, Aponi Brightmane, to help the Silverhand, where she eventually would be acknowledged and become a full fledge paladin.

To be honest I don’t actually like the idea of Blizzard trying to mix Horde and Alliance. Well of course countless times they worked together (imo Legion did that best) but that was it just working together and still be rivals and move on. Because again imo the faction war and temptation between the factions and both factions having their seperate themes and feelings are some of the main parts of Warcraft. I hope this “We are together in every way” thing stops and goes back to normal.

It completely downgrades and devalues the threats like the legion and scourge into just “oops we got tricked. I don’t want to be bad anymore” and we all hug. Like the legion hasn’t done 10,000 years of intergalactic conquest and genocide on an unspeakable level. But now you have to accept them in the alliance because “blizzard said so.” So many RPers have to rewrite their characters or force development. In theory I like the idea of all cities becoming neutral - just not this particular one because of the story that led us to this moment. Starting with Ogrimmar would have been a better idea. The Horde should have the onus to prove themselves FIRST. Eventually players will accept this, but going full-genocide against the Night Elves and then those same Night Elves being the ones to say "bygones" is infuriating, really. There will never be revenge for Teldrassil, and the perpetrator is going to be "redeemed" eventually (we all know it) and honestly I think that is the primary reason a lot of the community is insulted by the neutrality of Bel'Ameth. Sylvanas needs to be exterminated, and her timeout is not enough.

I am Horde, I don't like Night Elves or their architecture. But I say this is BS. The new Night Elven city needs to be in Kalimdor. Because it's not just merely a place of interest. It's supposed to be the main city of the Night Elf race. And Night Elves have home in the Kalimdor. Should they all move to Dragon Isles now and abandon their ancient home? Or should only those who will live in this city move there, which will contribute to the separation of the Night Elfs?
If they want to excuse this with "well, there is a portal", then I call bullshit on that. You can't use portals for everything story related. That completely obliterates any sense of place.
The new Elven city should have ideally been in Moonglade. The tree should have teleported over the lake just like it's on Mount Hyjal, and the rest of the mostly empty zone should have been rebuilt into a city. With an NPC that can switch you to the old Moonglade. And if new Night Elf characters were created, they could start there. And then use flightpath to Darkshore.
Their city being on Dragon Isles, which is closer to Eastern Kingdoms... That's nonsensical.
I noticed this new progressive idea of ancestral land not meaning anything. Like in Thor Ragnarok: "Asgard is not a land, it's a people." And then you just move your entire nation somewhere else. This is not how ancient and medieval civilisation operate (those are an inspiration and a template for fictional fantasy civilisations). How can you cut Night Elves from Ashenvale like that?
Not to mention, according to the story, the tree was grown in the Emerald Dream, and when it was ready to move to Azeroth, it could have been placed basically anywhere. Which means placing it in the Dragon Isles had to be deliberate decision of some character. So why did the Night Elves choose to place it on the Dragon Isles? Who would come up with such an idea? There are no historical links between Night Elves and the Dragon Isles. There was no Night Elven civilisation there. No mention of Elves in the Dragon history. And placing their biggest capital next to land owned by Centaurs doesn't really sound like a good idea either. Even if these are the progressive feminist centaurs, it's still gonna be competition for resources.

Technically speaking he did. He had Sargeras's mind twisted which made him go berserk. Because of that, the Legion wanted to invade Azeroth. The orcs were turned into bloodthirsty savages by Sargeras's minions and used as an army to invade Azeroth. As things went on, the Horde got new allies (on Azeroth to assist with their invasion of Azeroth? Hmm). This set up major factions that, though they may have been neutral, now they were actively hostile to one another. Except for the Trolls, them some crazy mofos anyways. The Helm of Domination was crafted by the Dreadlords - and it ended up in Arthas's hands. The Lich King wrecked much of the human and Elven lands. He created and essentially gave home to the Forsaken.... Yada yada yada... I won't go any further but yes, the Jailer did it. From a long time ago, even before the Legion's first invasion, he flipped the switch that would inevitably lead to Sylvanas feeding him souls (ie kill Night Elves) and working to assist him.

Gilneas is Genn's fault because he chose to isolate and fuck the Alliance then the Worgen Curse came and fucked his kingdom. The Forsaken attacked Gilneas for territory expansion and let's not act like Gilneas was part of the Alliance at that point so doesn't count. Gilneas only rejoined the Alliance because they had no choice and their kingdom lay in ruins.
Stromgarde lies in Arathi and all of Lordaeron and Quel'Thalas used to be Troll land that was stolen from them by early Humans and High Elves so it doesn't even belong to you but to the Amani tribe. The Forsaken tried to rejoin the Alliance but they were rejected which is where the name "The Forsaken" comes from and because Humans can't co-exist with the Forsaken because of Alliance-typical fascism they leave them literally no choice than to purge the living from their zones like Tirisfal, Silverpine, Hillsbrad and Arathi Highlands to be save.
Same reason why South Shore was taken from the Alliance - also Hillsbrad Foothills is first and foremost a Horde zone although it being contested. It's natural progression to go from Silverpine to Hillsbrad while the Alliance has to run through multiple higher level zones to even get here.
Teldrassil was literally corrupted by evil since it's conception. In all actuality it was probably better to burn it down. Should've just been without the Night Elves still in it but well... I'm not sad at all about them they would've done the same to Trolls without any hesitation for no reason but to just kill their women and children. I have literally zero sympathy for any Alliance race. Each and every single one was the reason for an almost-end of the world in one way or another - be it summoning the Legion, summoning Ragnaros or spreading the plague of Undeath. Dunno what the Gnomes would have done some day probably stuff like Tschernobyl would've happened mutating basically everything.
Human genocide? No such thing. There is way too many Humans left to be calling it a genocide. They simply lost and don't forget that the Humans also brought Lordaeron to fall with the Cult of the Damend - consisting of Humans betraying their Kingdom. So at least half of the dead Humans were killed by other Humans. The Orcs were put in internment camps and made to fight as gladiators from childhood which is actually evil. Thrall literally means slave and we all still call him that - he got his name from Blackmoore, a human that raised him personally for entertainment. Growing up in these conditions makes sure that a new generation of Orcs hates the Alliance for what they did. These were the Orcs that were loyal to Garrosh and did go overboard with it. Yeah Garrosh was pissed for killing innocents back then and later nuked Theramore so dunno what the reason for that idiotic thing was but I think I remember it was like a druidic place they attacked and there were Tauren there as well which is why Garrosh got pissed.
Sorry man. I get the narrative that you're believing in but it's simply not entirely true. If you actually look at it then you'll see that most evil things the Horde did wasn't their choice and most evil the Alliance did was very much their choice. That's the thing about WoW - things aren't like they seem at first. Horde stopped being the bad guy in Warcraft 3. It was Daelin Proudmoore that started the new conflict between Horde and Alliance at the end of Warcraft 3 and this war is directly what we get thrown into when we log on WoW Classic. Jaina even stood on the Orcs side because she knew this was a completely unprovoked attack by her father and it will start a new war.

This neutrality thing is getting disgusting. Seems even with Metzen they are losing the meaning of warcraft.

Hey Doran, a little correction for you , Night Elves , Blood Elves and the Crack Elves all descended from Trolls , they all used to be Trolls and split from there to make the new races of the elf variety. just figured id add this info .

This is way off. No way would the same Nightelves who some were still veterans of the original Sunwell sundering would forgive the horde this easily. They still Beef with the Bloodevles and Higbourne.
The only reason this would MAYBE make sense is if the city was under the Cenarion Circle and the Emerald Dragonflight and it functions as a Temple and not as a city.

It doesnt look or feel right, no big bear bank? The vibes dont reflect the full story of the night elves but rather just this one moment of 10.2. The buildings look great but theres an intangible element blizz always seems to mess up.

i do hope their new city actually gets more nightelf architecture, im tired of the homeless bum shacks from both the elfs and the trolls if the orcs can have massive themed cities so can the night elfs and trolls who have had massive stone buildings and walls before. update echo isles and over time add new buildings to the new nelf city that fits the vibe that inst just wood with the color purple

my issue is that it dosn't look or feel like a city. more like a small village. not exactly a place for 1000s of refugees to call home. I just want more.
