As a Linux user, I have to say that I still find myself resorting to booting into Windows so I can use Premier Pro. Things have improved a lot recently, but the Open Source solutions for Linux still leave a lot to be desired. To those who are interested: I suggest checking out Kdenlive, Shotcut, and DaVinci Resolve.
Awesome, thanks for sharing the resources! I'm sure others will appreciate it. I felt a little bad about not touching on Linux but it's like you said, Linux leaves a lot to be desired
I found you while searching for calendar display. I enjoyed the video on that and I really like how you created the display and layout. I decided to search your channel and I am looking to getting onto editing some video content, for my kids and myself. Currently, I edit photos for my businesses and I use Adobe Lightroom Classic and Photoshop, both available with the photography plan (2023), so I am familiar with their ecosystem. I don't want to invest in Premier Pro at this time since I would like to get used to editing first and not waste money. With 3 kids I have to watch where I am spending my money. Hitfilm intrigues me since you mentioned that it's interface is similar to Premiere Pro. Eventually when I sharpen my skills with editing I would invest in PP. That being said, since this video is from 2018, would you still recommend Hitfilm or something different?
Thanks for commenting! Although I haven't used it in a long time, I still think Hitfilm is a solid option. However, DaVinci Resolve is now free and it's very capable; you could stay in their ecosystem rather than upgrading to a different platform later if you decide to go that route. I'd suggest skimming through some tutorials on both Hitfilm & Resolve and maybe trying them out to see which one you like better. Once you have a good understanding of the basics of editing (slice, move, etc..), the editor seems like less of a consideration. I've been jumping around editors these few years and I don't think I mind not having a "home" editor! :)
I love Hitfilm I've been using it for my RUclips channel and its been so easy to edit, the layout is perfect and it really hasn't crashed on me because of the software, it crashed because my laptops keyboard stopped working and it immediately crashed Hitfilm. I think as i continue even if i don't peruse RUclips i will still be using Hitfilm and maybe get the version that isn't free. But hopefully ill stay with RUclips i enjoy doing it.
When I try to export on hitfilm express it says not available in demo mode and I made this very long good video and just to find out it doesn’t let me export is very annoying cuz all my work is just sitting there
callmebutterboss Hey, it sounds like you downloaded the Hitfilm Pro demo. Hitfilm Express is an entirely separate product with no demo, and exporting in it is available without needing a purchase.
I have been using hitfilm for around a year now for my school video projects,. We are supposed to use Premier Pro on our crappy pentium laptops, but I just use hitfilm on my PC

Nice! It always makes me happy to hear about other RUclipsrs using Hitfilm, because this software is severely underrated in my opinion
Yea that's what i thought too and that's what i searched up and that is how i found this video
Haha, good to know! :D
Is it compatible for 64 bit windows 7?
Hitfilm is actually so good. Just really buggy some times so save often like Donny said ;)
Agreed! Honestly, I've been frustrated with FCPX more than Hitfilm, its bugs don't seem so bad at all haha

Why is there 5 dislikes. This video was very helpful
Thanks! According to my analytics, 3 of them came from the Philippines. If I were to guess, it's one kid with nothing better to do.

They're stupid. This video was flawless. Perfectly explained. You got a sub bro.
Haha perhaps, who am I to judge :)
Thanks for the sub, hope to see you around!!

I'm still here
@@naws69 Thank you! :)

Awesome! Have you considered making any videos to put on RUclips?
SDG Danny i sorta have just dont really have ideas of any original content I could make
Ravocado Hey man, if you ever decide to, make sure to let me know, I'd love to be a part of your audience!
Is this better than DaVinci Resolve?
DaVinci Resolve is probably more popular these days, I would go with that if you are comfortable with learning its interface 👍
"aS LoNg As iT hAs gOoD wIfI"
Is it a overlay
Jonn&Juan
Hitfilm does overlays, yes
