I haven't had much luck finding helpful Cantonese lessons on RUclips but I'm loving your 5 minute lessons! I'm so glad I found your channel, thank you!
I’m rewatching some of your older videos for review and they’re still great. I did learn something recently that reminded me one of these videos 得到 they said it was the long formal version of 到 is 得 also a shortened version of this phrase? Verb + 得 is different from verb + 到?
I see what you mean. Let me try to explain with the verb to see. e.g 睇到 tai2 dou2 means "can see" or "able to see", same as 睇得到 tai2 dak1 dou2. However, if you say only 睇得 tai2 dak1. It means something you are allowed to see. For example, here is the dairy of your friend. You are asking for permissions to read it. If she say yes, she will say "tai2 dak1"
@@5minutecantonese keep it up You're really motivational for others, learn Arabic language if you can please it's amazing language I wish you learn Arabic and teach Arabic

Hi Amanda, I can't open your link. Thanks
I've just uploaded the notes. Please try again. Thank you! 😊
Finished Netflix now 😂. Disney plus is good. Going through The Simpsons in Cantonese
@@louishenderson4516 so cool
So 得 is used for:
- permission 我開唔開得冷氣
- good 呢個餐廳好得
- ok 得!得!得!
What kind of role does it play in e.g. 識得 -> 佢識得講廣東話
The last one is not related to the usage above. 識 or 識得 mean to know. But we cannot use 得 alone to mean alone.
@@5minutecantonese 唔該 老師
You should wear a microphone, it is hard to hear your voice. Thanks
Sorry, I forgot to bring my mic and I couldn't raise my voice as my neighbor would complain 😅😅 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 sorry again
