- In this video I show you how to do some maintenance on your Sawgrass SG500 or SG1000 sublimation printer. I started getting banding on my sublimation paper and figured I would share how I solved my issue by doing a nozzle cleaning and print head cleaning. Hope you enjoy this video. Hey Brother good news! Lol 😂 I am a woman of faith and I prayed for help - guess what ? this is my miracle ! After talking to more experts today that basically told me to buy a new printer I said OK I prayed and ain’t going bing up - after supper came and fixed my printer is up and running - I just did what nobody else could FIX IT ! My only issue is that I don’t know how to adjust the colors ? Is there a tutorial about this? Thank you again.
Adjust the colors? With creator studio and the sawgrass printer the colors are pretty much what the colors are on your image. I’ve never had to adjust the colors. That would probably have to be done in your graphic design software when creating your image.

I had this same issue. Because I haven't used it in about 2 months. I had to do 2 flushes and several head cleanings. I know it was probably to many times but it worked. 😐

hi! I have heard that it is necessary to print every week. And truth? If we go 2 weeks without printing we will have problems with clogging etc. Confirm? It's not the first video of yours I've seen. And the ones I saw went to the end. Grateful
You heard that about the sawgrass sg500 and sg1000 sublimation printers? My printers (sg500 and sg1000) sit for months at a time i don’t have issues. Never had a clog. No one I know personally in this industry has ever had a clog with these machines.

Nobody makes a video of how this model is completely disassembled. It seems that no one knows how to do it. So I'm going to do it today with the 2 that they brought me to repair so I'll show you.

You’re great and I’m having problems with 500 because the power went out in my apartment and I didn’t realize until a few days later that my printer was not on and when I went to use it the colors were messed up, so am I supposed to do a few of these steps you just showed us?

Very cool and informative, just subscribed! I have the SG800 got it in 2020 but had to pack away due to a move that turned into a year wait! Well just started up my printer got new inks but the black isn’t printing. Did the maintenance with nozzle check, head cleaning, & printed primary color chart from print manager but blk ink didn’t print. Any ideas why?! I also had experienced those lines back before we packed to move so I’m going to try your tip to clean the bands haha I don’t have a Versace cleaning wipe I hope that doesn’t matter 😂

Having the same issues and I just got mine. (500) I’ve tried several times doing the head cleanings and nozzle checks…which finally looks better, but still getting the lines or banding when I print. I’m using too much ink and paper for this to keep happening. I cleaned mine 5 times…the last time I tried to print, still got the banding. 😟
I've had my 500 for maybe 2 weeks. First few prints came out great. Then I had banding. I followed these steps and it got a little better but still some banding in certain areas of my image. Sucks. Makes me want to get rid of it and buy a DTG smh. Let me know if you find a fix
We''ve got a plenty of problems with our new SG-500 bought 1 month ago. The cyan ink always prints incomplete at nozzle checks, we've done a lot of head cleanings and head flushings, no way to resolve this. They said that we may get a new printer.

I had the same problem the other person said about her power went out and the printer was off without her knowledge of it and bang problems began. The red alert button keeps coming on and when I try to print I gets nothing,! Please help me. I done some troubleshooting and it hasn’t helped me and I have some shirts to do for a friend

I had a 500 that this started happening.. it been about a year ago. Just purchased a 1000 for some reason print manager will not print. It’s almost like it does not connect. It says it’s printing printer never responds. On my 500 I used to be able to go onto silhouette and print through there. However, I tried to do that it printed ones and then it was saying that was a paper feed issue.. so frustrating

Hi there, thank you for the tutorial. Questions, what should I do if the printer is repeating the same cycle over and over without stopping?. How to make the printer stop depleting the ink?
The printer is supposed to circulate the ink so the lines don’t get clogged. I don’t know how to slow the cycles. Im not sure but I think it’s set. And can’t be changed.

This SG-400 has been acting weird since the first week we bought -between Heat Press Nation and Sawgrass Support got me waiting blaming Apple for their own lack of responsibility and after 6s months going back and forth -OFFLINE and not responding to commands printer they “repaired it” -after my husband spoke to them- but they didn’t replace it as we have requested and then next month after the repair was not working anymore. In a year I only printed about 20 pages and replaced ink cartridges once which was $71.00 each color and for black ink was $131 back in 2019.

Hey Allan. Do you leave your Sawgrass on 24x7? Sawgrass recommends that and the machine will automatically perform maintenance sequences to keep the heads clean and ink flowing. Does waste a little ink but I’ve had my 400 for about a year and a half with no problems whatsoever. 🤞

Yes Allan leave it on 24/7 I let mine set for a month with no use and and works fine still.
I always leave mine on but still get those lines, I have learned to clean my heads (or at least do a test print) every time I print after not printing for a few days. It is always on the red and yellow. I have the SG500

I'm only getting lines sometimes. 😅 (that rhymed) but anyways. I tried the head cleaning and it stopped printing the lines.
I have a sawgrass 500, it will not print a image. It will print the test print image and head cleaning. It will print only two lines of the primary color chart. It’s out of warranty just hit its two year. Have you encounter anything like this?

Can I use amazon sublimation or a cheaper ink and still get good results , any suggestions?
Idk. I’ve never used amazon sublimation ink. I do know that the moment you put non sawgrqsss approved ink in your printer you void your warantee. If you have an issue and call in they will not help you if you don’t have sawgrass ink in you printer cause you voided your warantee.

You have to follow my exact steps. It should be there if we have the same machine. If not you should contact sawgrass and ask them.
When I do the nozzle check (sawgrass sg500) yellow and magenta still not printing correctly man this is frustrating.
Contact sawgrass for some tech support. Did you have your printer sitting for a while? If so how long?
@@adubbproductions I'll try calling them. I bought it last year but the ink that came with it ran out. So it was sitting around for a few months without me using it. Printer is new just bought ink.

I was leaving my printer on 24-7 on until it started depleting the ink like going crazy! then I had some new ink cartridges which are very expensive by the way… then I replaced the ones were low cause it didn’t want to print it from 1 cartridge was low :( as I was seated working on another thing… I saw the printer going many times to maintenance never stopping ! i saw the new sawgrass ink cartridges going low very quickly so I had to turn the printer off as they instructed me to do but it was not responding to commands so they told me to disconnected it from the electrical power -When I called this guys they asked me to turned it on again and an error showed up. After that they told me throw it in the garbage game over. I just can’t throw $550 plus ink cartridges in the garbage like that. I will never buy from those guys again. “Buy a new one” but this printer was a new one!
That’s weird. I haven’t had those issues. Mine sat for months and still has ink. The inks are $61 dollars each but but they last long. If you think these run out fast don’t even look in the direction of a dtg printer lol. But no, my ink doesn’t run out as fast as yours does. I have a sg500 and 1000 both plugged in and on. Sitting there not printing i think it sitting take a good 6 months do totally deplete. I don’t know for a fact but I’m not having the issues you are. Where did you get yours from?
I’ve tested it again last night lol my gosh 😝 I got stuck in WAITING for a while right after I put new ink cartridges AND THEN it went offline cause I had to unplug it - I can’t remember how to bring it back online lol 😂 but today I’ve tuned it ON to bring ir back online and it did the same dirty game as last night it’s frustrating! So I turned off again cause it didn’t respond to power bottom it won’t stop wasting ink. ONE THING I’VE NOTICED Today as I opened the lid is that the ink was not flowing as it should be cause the ink or plastic rubber things looks as if they are interrupted you know what I mean ? I think it could’ve be clogged up or something… I don’t know how to fix that is there a tutorial about that?

Hi I am having the same problem I am losing lots of money and time.. I have spoken to 3 support agents . I tried to flush the and clean the SG500 again and now I cannot use my printer at all, only thing I get is Error occurred sc202-24 Functional problems Turn operation switch off then on and I still cannot use my printer... bad thing is I just purchased 308.00 in new ink cartridges.. I am not a happy lady at all.
That’s is unfortunate. Sawgrass customer service is who you need to speak to, that’s who I talk to when I need help.
My 500 puts out terrible prints.

Does anyone use any other brand of ink with the SG500? I was using XCink jet and about two weeks ago my sg500 updated and now the ink wont print right or read. Someone please help
I would not advise using any ink other than Sawgrass approved ink. It voids your warrantee. Unfortunately the update might have made the chip in your cartridge not compatible. That sucks. Good luck James. I hope you find a solution.
