There's a video of Alfred Hitchcock talking about cinematic tension and I can see what he describes in this. It's pretty obvious to us that it's him our MC is oblivious. This keeps us engaged. The payoff is not the reveal, it's how does out MC get out of this.

Sometimes it's really hard watching reaction content when the reactor has something important pegged from the beginning - trying to lead them away from the outcome to try and maintain the surprise usually leads to gaslighting accusations, while saying anything trying to keep them from falling too far away from the right track, especially when wavering from what they had pegged early on, usually leads to spoiler accusations. Sometimes it's best to just sit back and watch the carnage develop - like with what's happened in this series.
My only complaint about this show is that they never really made other real suspects. It can't be Yuuki, since the crimes persist while he is in prison. Kenya seemed suspicious at the start, but once we learn more about him that seems pretty unlikely. And while they do a good job of making Yashiro flip between seeming really genuinely trustworthy and suspicious, there's just no one else it really could be. Unless it was someone that we hadn't met, which would be pretty unlikely. I still really enjoy the show for the execution of it and all the other stuff. The intrigue is excellent regardless, so it's still a relatively minor point for me, thankfully!
maybe because you never realized this is NOT a crime story. This is a mystery series about the fate and the healing of Sotaru´s soul. In Japan butterflies are symbol for transformation, the souls of dead people move into their next bodies by butterflies. The opening of the next episode is special and shows the dimension without Satoru because he left it. So Satoru´s adult "inner voice" is gone from now on. Until the final final.
