They already sort of established that all three would be going on the date after the producer pulled the "what do you mean 'we'?" move when Gebilet asked what they would do on a date. So when he was asked about taking Gebilet on a date, he could have been pausing because he was processing why that question would be asked after they had already planned to go on a date with all three of them. I think it's probably the case that Lu was more into Sophie, but he at least deserves the benefit of the doubt on that moment, because the producer was definitely trying to make things awkward.

I don’t think the director should have prompted a date between Lu and Sophie or revealed to Gebilet that they were going on a date because it obviously made her feel left out. The whole concept of 3 people trapped in a box who are all monogamous makes no sense. Imo, the director was trying to start drama for content.

I really hate when people don’t ask what name they prefer. Sophie was so nice for that. People don’t realize how empowering and nice it is when people learn how to pronounce “foreign” names.

Agreed BUT I feel like he still gave her an open door to say she would rather be called by her name. He asked what she went by and asked if it was fine that he called her "Gibby" for the next 12 hrs.. You almost miss it because Sophie then jumped in and for whatever reason gave her the confidence to say she'd rather her name.

It does feel like Cut was the catalyst behind the exchange that led to Gebilet leaving; asking Sophia to go on a bathroom break, asking Lu to explain again that he just asked Sophia out on a date, asking Lu "what about her?" which subtly prompted him to ask Gebilet out but in a way that felt like a pity ask. I think all this unnecessarily cast a spotlight on Gebilet being left out when that moment could've just passed without much fanfare and maybe the rejection wouldn't have felt so emphasised for Gebilet. I get that it makes for an interesting watch but it feels uncomfortable when it's at the expense of someone's real feelings. I'll add that this is all speculative since I have no idea how else this could have turned out if different actions were taken. Edit: For those saying it done was to make Gebilet aware of what happened when she was gone, Gebilet was already aware because at 9:16 all three of them had just spoken about Lu asking Sophia out. in this light, the producer nudging Sophia to go for a break and then prompting the topic again at 9:45 felt unnecessary.
Absolutely. The guy didn’t mean to single out Gebilet. All the guy basically said was he’d like to have a date that wasn’t inside a box. The producer took that as “so you just asked Sophie out?” The dude didn’t mean for it to come across like that imo. Just said he’d like to meet with them in general outside the box.

If the producer hadn't made him tell her, I feel like the rest of the date could've maybe gone better for everyone without her knowing that they were planning on going on a date afterwards and getting her feelings hurt.
Super strange that the director dude kept asking them to go to the bathroom even if they didn’t need too. You could tell they were getting annoyed. And he definitely pushed the situation that made Gebilet feel the need to leave. I think it was especially rude for him to say “wait, who’s going on the date?” and snicker afterwards as if he was making fun of Gebilet for thinking she was part of the date too. Even with all the other things he said, if he had never said that, the 3 of them could have had a much more natural conversation without anyones feelings getting hurt. I hope Gebilet is okay! Both ladies were super nice, smart and beautiful!

i think it was the “host” whatever you call the person from cut in this, really put gebilet on the spot by making lu & sophie say they were going on a date without her. i get this is entertainment but there’s a reason lu said it once gebilet went on a bathroom break... she likely would have naturally picked up on the vibe without the host forcing the situation. and had she stayed it would have been super uncomfortable knowing they’re on a date with 2 people that only want each other. :/
Use this same logic with their video series "The Button" , the producers have very little game. Their questions don't help the contestants at all and it steers them down a black hole.

From the jump he favored Sophia, and he never attempted to focus on the ladies equally. That's fine for entertainment purposes or if all parties are just trying to hook up. Dating and relationships, not so much. He also lacked the tact to wait until the end of the experiment to ask her on the date. He basically jumped the gun. I personally think it reflects on his character and maturity.

I don’t think Gebilet was pretending she was cool with it and being fake. You can be genuinely happy for someone else while still having your own feelings hurt. I personally wish she had more confidence in herself to stay and maybe talk with Sophie more. But at the same time, I respect her decision to leave and do what was best for her!

The host made it awkward by pushing that on him to ask Gebilet out on a date too. If it was going to go downhill by him being more attracted to Sophie, let that happen naturally. Instead, they pushed it and made it get to a point where Gebilet was uncomfortable therefore making Sophie uncomfortable. The point of these should be to nudge slightly but not push. If this wasn’t going to work out for all 3 of them, let it play out that way. Or maybe it could have. I think it was triangulation from the beginning, he showed more attention to Gebilet but then ask Sophia out when she wasn't there which put Sophia in a positions where she couldn't ask Gebilet out without it sounding second hand. It was a competition thing. At first she felt competitive with her so she was tryna one up her and secure the dude for validation. Once she realised actually he liked her all along , and fake “offered” the other girl a dare she saw him as suddenly low value.

I know how Gebilet felt, and it's such a shitty feeling when you sense instantly that you're third-wheeling in a social setting but you try to let things flow "naturally" only to realize you're just being pushed further out. I was really proud of her for just leaving instead of trying to "keep the peace." Lu is very rude despite his laid-back demeanor. He made it very clear that he favored Sophia and he could've honestly saved that for out of the box instead of letting his excitement over a new toy potentially blow someone's self-esteem. Also, unpopular opinion, Sophia wasn't innocent either. I felt like she could've done more to make Gebilet feel included instead of reveling in Lu's attraction to her. She lowkey played two sides of the coin and gave mixed signals to Gebilet all the while trying to look like Lu just went after her when she was heavily flirting back with him. It was really eery to see how people's walls can fall to reveal who they truly are and all I know is Gebilet was genuine from the beginning to the end. She's such a beautiful and radiant soul who deserves much more than a second-place platonic or romantic relationship from the others.
i feel like sophie wanted to go out on dates with both of them again but the cut host made it awkward by making it seem like sophie and lu were the only ones interested in each other, so sophie didn't get a chance to ask to see gebilet again. there's nothing inherently wrong with sophie "playing two sides of the coin" in this situation, it seems like that's what everyone was meant to do here-figure out if any of them wanted to see each other again. and with only one date between three people it wouldn't surprise me if at least one person wanted to see multiple of the others again

It does feel like Cut was the catalyst behind the exchange that led to Gebilet leaving; asking Sophia to go on a bathroom break, asking Lu to explain again that he just asked Sophia out on a date, asking Lu "what about her?" which subtly prompted him to ask Gebilet out but in a way that felt like a pity ask. I think all this unnecessarily cast a spotlight on Gebilet being left out when that moment could've just passed without much fanfare and maybe the rejection wouldn't have felt so emphasised for Gebilet. I get that it makes for an interesting watch but it feels uncomfortable when it's at the expense of someone's real feelings.
I'll add that this is all speculative since I have no idea how else this could have turned out if different actions were taken.

The host made it awkward by pushing that on him to ask Gebilet out on a date too. If it was going to go downhill by him being more attracted to Sophie, let that happen naturally. I know how Gebilet felt, and it's such a shitty feeling when you sense instantly that you're third-wheeling in a social setting but you try to let things flow "naturally" only to realize you're just being pushed further out. I was really proud of her for just leaving instead of trying to "keep the peace." Lu is very rude despite his laid-back demeanor. He made it very clear that he favored Sophia and he could've honestly saved that for out of the box instead of letting his excitement over a new toy potentially blow someone's self-esteem.
