I've been shooting Victory for a few years now. My favorite are the RIP TKOs. At TAC, I could unscrew them from trees, put a new tip in, and keep going. I run both the 50 and 75 grain inserts. I can shoot either 125 or 150 grain heads, and they fly the same. 3DHVs were great for long range. They don't like to bend, but durable enough on impacts. I shoot the V-TAC 23s for 3D. Surprisingly durable. Haven't broken one yet, thanks to the pin nocks.

I know I have not killed as many animals as some, I'm sure I've killed more than some, but I cannot think of one animal albeit deer, bear or elk,
Hitting trees rocks whatever. Been shooting gold tips for a long time with no fancy inserts and I cannot recall any breaking at the insert or splintering. That being said I realize that it is still the weakest spot, just have not witnessed any failures there. But I have also not killed every animal I have shot so could it have broke there? it is a possibility.

I love Victory, especially the TKO series. I've found that standard diameter shafts are great for my purposes and the VF TKOs have been fantastic. I shot two deer with the same arrow so far this year and it's back in the quiver again for number 3.
I really liked the VAP SS, but didn't care for the .166 components. I may try the RIP TKOs in the future.

FWIW, I shot Axis since they were first introduced. I’ve switched to the Victory simply because I wanted the stiff spine at a lower GPI to play around with point weight. Anyways, when you try to get apples to apples between Victory and Easton, Easton is substantially less expensive. As much as six dollars per shaft depending on product type.

Interesting. Are we talking about the same arrows?
Easton match grade axis are around 140 a dozen and the RIP TKO Elite are about 210 a dozen. Both .001 and raw shafts. At least just about everywhere I look.
Lancaster Archery generally sells everything at MSRP and that’s where these prices came from by way of comparison.

Did not know about the weave in the VAP SS! Cool technology. I will say this, the TKO version of their VAPs are very tough. I speculate it is something to do with the weave. Agreed on the Easton long range. They seemed weak but maybe it was the components.

Quick story. I shot my biggest buck with RIP tko and a magnus two blade. First shot was a very bad shot. Couldn’t control my shaking. The arrow ripped through both legs, severing them. My only problem with Victory and I haven’t had enough arrows for a big sample size test is the elites I thought would be decently straight even at full length I was expecting something like .003 instead of .001 but every one I’ve gotten included target arrows have been .005 or worse at full length and nock end on them is normally .005 is my experience. I love the arrows and quality of them and there GPI and specs but as a long draw guy man it kills me. The best overall arrows I’ve put in my own hands has been BE for the full length shaft straightness and overall arrow. Victory is my second choice for sure though. Just a weird thing the best dozen of arrows I’ve ever had in my hands is a set of Gold Tip 22’s I got off the Lancaster trailer at a ASA full shafts all .001 or less all within 1/2 a grain in weight so for that set I weighed every vane, bushing, nock, and point and got everything within a 1/2 grain for the full dozen I got like 3 packs of bushings nocks and points to do it but that dozen is money for the setup I have them for.

I have shot all the big OEM's and only shoot Victory now. Why? Because I build what I shoot and victory builds arrows and components for arrow builders IMO. Great web site, lots of information and specs. And the components are built to size, not shaft type. So it's easy to know what will fit what. I shoot mostly 3D and indoor and have to say in my club over 50% of the line is shooting the V-tac 23's. Absolutely love the v-tac line.

  • @houghtonic1975

I shot the Victory VAP for a few years. Loved the arrows, did not like the lack of choice on quality components. Only one lighted nock works well on micro diameter arrows, and they are a little more pricey. I moved to Victory RIP arrows which are nice .204 diameter for this season. IMO, RIP and RIP TKO are the best arrows on the market for the price and quality. Out of 2 dozen RIP elites so far, I only had one not spin perfectly, and that one wasn't bad at all. The upside is I have more options for how I build the front end and there are more than one brand of capable, quality lighted nock in .204 diameter.

I’ve started using the bohning cool flex and haven’t had any issues since even with the hit inserts but never ran an outsert or half out because I didn’t want to lose them in the target again.
