I used to be VERY VERY sensitive to people judging my competence, this led me to always hate working while someone supervises from above, this sensitivity led me to isolation "i should be my own boss", "i should learn everything by myself", "i shouldn't be dependent on anyone"... i worked a lot on my self-esteem over the past two years, and now i'm less sensitive to people judging my work, and this opened a lot of opportunities for me.

I love that Angela made the distinction that introverts get energy from solitude- it's not the same thing as being shy.

The mindset “How can I help? How can I serve? What am I here to give?” Is absolutely priceless takeaway. What a shift in mentality. Thank you 🙏

Here I am at 4 am and this episode popped up. The past week I received an offer to join a partnership and it does not feel right. I'm an artist and toy designer, and I think the person that wants to have me in their team, does not know how to measure the value and work that these wooden toys require. Initially I felt super bad for setting my boundaries, but I did. There are so many people that always looked at my skills but in the past I've experience so many failures, doing work for non-payment, and I simply can't do it right now, because I don't have a job, my life is drawing and painting, and business people don't get that... My conclusion after seeing this, is that another opportunity will come to me. I will keep asking for one that really appreciate my transparency, my empathy and my mission.

Hi, Tamara and everyone else who feels the same way. I am with you. I felt really the same way. What helped me realize that my calling is so much bigger than my fears and limiting beliefs, and when I am creating something, I just pretend to speak with a dear friend of mine or some stranger who needs help. I am trying to be empathetic as I am, loving and use my intuition and stay true to myself. I started my RUclips channel 2 years ago in my native language, and it grows since then because I was myself and I focus on what my audience what and need. Some people need someone like you, not someone with thicker skin or tougher. It really does help if you focus more on the people you are serving and not on yourself. I know it looks so foreign, or maybe hard, and the advice is too simple. Just try it for yourself.

I definitely struggled when I started my business as I’m an introvert, but then found that offering coaching via email gave me a niche to work with other introverts and seemed to work just as well.
“I have this extra capability to be able to contextualise things so that i can be effective in who i am and what I do” - This is so important. Everything I’ve found in my degrees and life experience is that we are not taught the life skills of reflection, thought-challenging, problem-solving, and how to ignite that inner capability we have naturally as human beings.
We are all so much more capable than we realise, and we can learn so many of the skills we often feel we are lacking.

I have to be honest, I'm pretty disheartened by the business world. Thank God I have felt a lot of emotional support to get through it!!! For the most part, I actually appreciate the lessons, because it's teaching me self-reliance and how to embrace presence/small joys. I'm blessed to have my weird lil "reality show" of sorts, n surely my talents will evolve, but MAN this in-between phase is tough!!! Thx for letting me vent about my frustrations. Great advice, btw!!!

I suggest reading the book “Quiet: The Power of Introverts by Susan Cain”. It’s a good read for recognizing your strengths/ natural abilities as an introverted or shy person and it shines a light on the erroneous belief that if you’re outgoing or gregarious you’re a better leader, better business person, more worthwhile or valuable as a person, etc, etc.

Marie, I think I've been listening to you for at least a decade. I never even subscribed because I never had to (I'd simply seek you out on my own, not knowing about the algorithm etc). I now have a couple business ideas in my head and boom! The most direct, relevant, helpful video ever! I'm not sure how u seem to always do that, but it could only be cuz you're wholly aligned on your path. Thanks for making me feel the same. Thank u so much! Much love from Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹

I am just about to finish grad school next June and I am returning to my home country to help with sick elderly family and I thought having a business would be good and I have so many ideas ….just never thought my personality was anti business owner. This def gave me more of the courage to look more into it
