Patrick, you just made me love math in 3 days. It's been a stressful subject for me for years and years.Well, please know that you just changed my whole life and as a consequence of this: I'm starting to love math!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! GOD BLESS YOU PATRICK!
thank you so much . I've taken this section 3 times and you are the first to actually make sense. i hope you keep creating these videos, because they are extremely helpful!!
I've got a test tomorrow and I don't listen to my teacher because she's boring as hell, so I'm doing a last minute study and watching your videos! It's a life saver! I guess I'll still be able to keep my school medal! :D
Your videos are a complete godsend. Even though my math teacher is a really nice guy, he does not do his subject justice, which you do. Thanks for being such a terrific teacher, pal.
Thanks once again . I needed to refresh my complex numbers for electrical engineering test and you did a great job helping me . AGAIN . Long live Patrickjmt
God Bless you! Isnt it amazing that some people are just able to understand maths like that?! last year my teacher couldn't understand why or how we couldn't understand maths and never explained it properly. Poor teaching performance + lack of care = student confusion and hatred of maths. FACT. You rock wish I was good at maths :/
Thank you sooooo much. I have homework on it tonight and there was one problem with only an imaginary number in the denominator. You're a lifesaver. Thank you thank you thank you!
most things you learn in school probably do not help a person in real life. however, imaginary numbers have lots of applications in physics and engineering. most people never get to the point where they learn those uses though
Wow. You ve blessed my life with how u made these complex numbers so easy. though it took me some time to catch up with ur speed. but it helped me so much. THANK YOU.
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I HAD NO IDEA ON HOW TO DO THIS IN CLASS BECAUSE I MISSED A DAY THANK GOD I FOUND YOU ... YOUR LIKE HAVING MY OWN TURTOR ON RUclips. OH AND I SUBSCRIBED TO YOUR CHANNEL NOW AND FOREVER. THANKS SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS!!!!!!!
Am in a large class at a community college, and we have been working in complex numbers, and I ended up getting lost. But you helped me throw it thanks so much have a test on this on Monday. Bill.
I can't even begin to describe to you how helpful this video was to me. Thank you soooo much. I have used your math videos so much. It seems as though whenever I review for a test using your videos, I pass with flying colors :D
Thank you honey, you have a talent for explaining things simply, quickly, and clearly! you should really go into teaching. Its very good of you to take your time and donate it in this manner to the world. You have really helped me a lot and decreased my stress about math immensly.
I love you! haha your videos are soooo amazingly helpful. Way better than my math teacher. You've saved me so many times the night before a test lol thank you!
@TheKrazEEe ah yes, touche; if the complex number is written in standard form (which is all i use), then what i say is correct. but you are right! thanks
I've learned a lot from watching your videos.. my college algebra teacher goes through everything really fast and doesn't really explain much so that leaves me who sucks terribly at math having to spend more time on math..
welcome to the future of math. Great explanations and ability to reply parts over and over. Math Teachers are obsolete and should be fired. I got a B in my class PURELY by using patrick JMT videos.
saldunlop That's probably because you can pause and rewatch certain parts in videos, unlike actual math classes where the teacher may be reluctant to go back due to time constraints
in class a teacher is teaching like 20 people at the same time, and you are stressed probably cause you are not in the mood to study, its early morning, stuck with 20 people, bla bla but on youtube, its just a video you can control how freely you want, you can do it whenever you like, (probably midnight before tests lol) while eating your favourite junk food
i am pretty sure i already have videos of both of those on my website : ) i am 100% i have vids about composition! that is the second time you be hatin' on my math! love the complex numbers. do not discriminate!
sir i want to thank u very badly i took to your videos on the night before my paper and i just got the result i have cleared the paper with flying colours thanks a lot
Great help, just reviewing material for AC circuits involving reactive components, not difficult but you certainly have to remember all the steps, thanks!
Hey Pat. Thanks again. :) I think you are good at this partly because of your ability to calmly explain things. It might sound weird, but I think I have difficulty learning from this teacher just because of the energy that she puts out and how quickly she goes through stuff. Maybe it's just me. Anyways , thanks for the easily digestable material.
we have just started doing these in my lectures and i just wanted to say that you are a great teacher and i hope you continue making clips, Thank you!! #mymanpatrickjmt
Or even if they do, they don't retain the information. I have to take both an Electrical Engineering and Physics course to get my Bachelor's in Computer Science. Luckily I don't mind learning all of this stuff, and have grown out of questioning the practicality of learning anything -- it's just convenient when I do learn something practical. Anyway, ramble aside, thanks for your videos man, you're very clear and concise. Nice handwriting as well. :D
@wierdsince79 answer may be super late but its because it was already a subtraction, and it was subtracting a negative, resulting in an addition. --=+ basically.
First of all, thx so much, i really understand how to this, and my question is, for the last example you showed the answer is -5i+6, i was wondering if i get 6 - 5i, is it still correct? Does it matter where i put the 5i?
I am doing the same thing I did last quiz, only it's finals this time. Last minute watching your videos and passing the next day. I really need to work harder though. Anyway thank you very much! ^_^
You have been a life saver to me in math for the past two years. God bless you.

thank you so much . I've taken this section 3 times and you are the first to actually make sense. i hope you keep creating these videos, because they are extremely helpful!!
I learn more from you in a 7 minute video than I do in 4 hours of my trig class. Thanks for being a clear teacher.
I've got a test tomorrow and I don't listen to my teacher because she's boring as hell, so I'm doing a last minute study and watching your videos! It's a life saver! I guess I'll still be able to keep my school medal! :D
You are honestly the best help in all math subjects. I love the fact that you take time to explain each step very clearly. Thank you.
You're an absolute legend, its quite easy if you get it from someone who actually likes to teach.
Thank you
Thank you even 15 years later you are impacting in aiding people who are struggling I can not thank you for the help ❤
Your videos are a complete godsend. Even though my math teacher is a really nice guy, he does not do his subject justice, which you do. Thanks for being such a terrific teacher, pal.
this is the best example i have seen on how to multiply and divide complex numbers!!THANK YOU LORD!!!!
WOW.. im skipping math class.. this is so much better than actual lectures at school...
keep up the great vids..
Imaginary numbers are extremely important in engineering. From electric circuits to building structural integrity in the wind.
I am a junior in applied mathematics and you saving my rear end because I completely forgot how to do this!
Thanks a million!!
Thanks once again . I needed to refresh my complex numbers for electrical engineering test and you did a great job helping me . AGAIN . Long live Patrickjmt
my teacher was trying to teach me this stuff in nearly hours, and you made me understand this in only a few minutes. Thank you so much! :)
My teacher gave us these crazy long formulas to do this and I have no idea why. Thanks so much for simplifying!!
God Bless you!
Isnt it amazing that some people are just able to understand maths like that?!

PatrickJMT: saving failing grades one step at a time
Cannot thank you enough, dude

@beautifulteaba no problem ; ) you are very welcome!
Wow. You ve blessed my life with how u made these complex numbers so easy. though it took me some time to catch up with ur speed. but it helped me so much. THANK YOU.

Hi! I just discovered your channel for my assignments You are an amazing teacher 😊😊
i bow down to you. you explain it in such easy terms or it sure seems like it. very great! THANKS!
College Maths Test on Monday 16th, Patrick you are the best!
@bizayangdako no, not yet
I can't even begin to describe to you how helpful this video was to me. Thank you soooo much. I have used your math videos so much. It seems as though whenever I review for a test using your videos, I pass with flying colors :D
OMGGG i have a test tomorrow on all of this and i used your vid to help me study now i know ima pass YAY!!! your the freaking BEST DUDE =D
Thank you honey, you have a talent for explaining things simply, quickly, and clearly! you should really go into teaching. Its very good of you to take your time and donate it in this manner to the world. You have really helped me a lot and decreased my stress about math immensly.
Awesome video I was able to work through the examples and now I get it. Thanks
actually you are the best teacher i have ever seen!
Thanks man! You helped me to take my maths exam!
THANKS VERY MUCH FROM BULGARIA! :)
wondeful! i am glad they are making things 'click', if only a little!
i understood more here than i did in class. thank you so much!
I love you! haha your videos are soooo amazingly helpful. Way better than my math teacher. You've saved me so many times the night before a test lol thank you!
YESS!!!!! Now I dont have to cheat on my test!!!!!
Your so GREAT Mr. Patrick!!!!
This helped helped me do my homework! I had no idea how to do it so i was gonna give up but i found your video and now it makes sense! Thank you!
@TheKrazEEe ah yes, touche; if the complex number is written in standard form (which is all i use), then what i say is correct. but you are right! thanks
@rokkerboi21 my pleasure
you should be a teacher man!! your videos are reallllly helpful!!
Thank you sooo much!!! midterms are tomorrow and this helps a lot!
You, sir, are better than my current math prof. hahaha. :) Thanks. :)
my pleasure! glad to help : )
@Nightwalker191 there are always unsolved problems and new techniques being created. we will never be 'finished' creating new mathematical ideas
I've learned a lot from watching your videos.. my college algebra teacher goes through everything really fast and doesn't really explain much
so that leaves me who sucks terribly at math having to spend more time on math..
thank you so much, I'm trying to pass college algebra and your videos are awesome, really helpful!!
i from the university of the west indies in jamaica and you are the reason i passed ma finals
I see what you did and I like it (clueless Algebra 2 student was very clueless but now understands)
welcome to the future of math. Great explanations and ability to reply parts over and over. Math Teachers are obsolete and should be fired. I got a B in my class PURELY by using patrick JMT videos.
I was a math teacher before I made videos. Was I obsolete back then and should I have been fired?

sir i want to thank u very badly
i took to your videos on the night before my paper
and i just got the result
i have cleared the paper with flying colours
thanks a lot
this video made me realize that this topic was easy! thanks patrickJMT!:)
dude im in 10th grade and i was a little confuse in the square of the top num. but u safe my life bro thank you
Great help, just reviewing material for AC circuits involving reactive components, not difficult but you certainly have to remember all the steps, thanks!
Q: On the last Ex. How did you get +6 when you divide 6 by -1?
happy to help, betina!
wow your lecture was real great thanks I never understand my mathematics lecturer you make this easy as pie I love ur voice too
hey patrick. just wanted to let u know, ur an allstar!!!
Hey Pat. Thanks again. :) I think you are good at this partly because of your ability to calmly explain things. we have just started doing these in my lectures and i just wanted to say that you are a great teacher and i hope you continue making clips, Thank you!! #mymanpatrickjmt
Hi, with the last example you did don't you have to multiply by the conjugate? so since i is positive you multiply both sides by negative i instead?
Thanks. I did all of my homework.
You just saved me a lots of time. You're a cool guy.
University lecturers make this so much more 'complex' than needed, thank you! p.s. See what I did? Complex? I'm funny.
Thank you sir🙏 for solve my problems in mathematics wish I saw your more more videos
Thank you again sir🙏🙏🙏🙏

If you are dividing a real number by a complex number, do you still have to times both top and bottom by the complex conjugate?
Thank you so much for taking the time to make these vids!!! They are so helpful!!
Thank you so so so so so so so much! I have to have eight complex number questions done by tomorrow and I was getting seriously frustrated!
No. But not because of mathematical reasons, I had some other stuff going on.
I love patrickJMT!
in that case, keep watching! :)
teacher = one who teaches
prettymuch everything electrical with an AC current has imaginary numbers. Probs the best practical use for this off the top of my head.
That was really easier than I thought! Started on this yesterday, thanks for the information! :)
thanks, Patrick ..ur the best of what u do
I UNDERSTAND NOW! :D
Thanks so much, now I don't think I'll fail my test.
@like11whoa multiply by the conjugate
@wierdsince79 answer may be super late but its because it was already a subtraction, and it was subtracting a negative, resulting in an addition. --=+ basically.
Thank you so much! This was more helpful than you will ever know!
I learned more in this 7 min. video than I did in my 50 min. Alg. 2 class...
First of all, thx so much, i really understand how to this, and my question is, for the last example you showed the answer is -5i+6, i was wondering if i get 6 - 5i, is it still correct? Does it matter where i put the 5i?
in the second example in the division section, when you multiplied it by i
why didn't you multiply it by the negative like the first example?
I am doing the same thing I did last quiz, only it's finals this time. Last minute watching your videos and passing the next day. I really need to work harder though. Anyway thank you very much! ^_^
My math teacher has the worst monotone so i can never pay attention so thank you for saving my test for tomorrow
i can probably do some vector stuff!
@1Onsokumaru1 glad i could help you out : )
Could you do some more examples on dividing the Complex numbers? harder to do basically? so i can work it out ..
Thank you
you teach very well and very thanks plz plz keep on posting videos on like this thank you very much sir.patrick.
thnx a lot ,now i understand how to multiply and divide complex numbrs
Thanks For The Lesson U Teach Way Better THen My Real Teacher
Thank you so much this little video clarified so much for me that my teacher couldn't lol.
@ArelyBuzz ftw! : )
nice job mr patrick, keep going, your videos are interesting and helpfull.
damn you done what no other man or women has ever done before
Watching all of your videos for tomorrow's test. >
thanks for help sir Patrik
Sr Patrick, do u hav video where i is an exponent of a polar form?
It's very useful when calculating and dimensioning AC electrical system!
