      @@madeleine7308 I'm not trying to start an argument here but many companies already safe the most money by using unethical labour and materials.
      they contribute the most to climate change and pollution, the least they can do is cut down on packaging and work on innovative options. people are willing to pay more if they know they're getting something with less environmental impact which is not produced through child labour.

      The tube is refilled with another plastic container and the previous is thrown away , in addition you first buy 2 piece of plastic instead of one and then refill the first plastic tube with new plastic tubes . How is that sustainable. It’s just marking . One plastic tube is more than enough , putting plastic in plastic us not environmentally friendly

    • @elizabethoh8527
      @elizabethoh8527 3 года назад +2

      @@ALI-wy8yu Thanks for taking the time to point that out. I didn't say it was sustainable, I just like that it's refillable.

    • @TheCaitSD
      @TheCaitSD 3 года назад +1

      @@ALI-wy8yu I thought about this too. Having multiple plastic components is not ideal; I would have preferred it to be a truly refillable component where you buy the packaging once and are able to bring it to a refilling station of some sort. I will say, however, that coloured plastics are much less likely to be recycled, so to have the inner refillable portion be clear plastic is perhaps beneficial in that it's moreso a true recyclable. That being said, why use a coloured plastic as part of the product at all then? There's a lot to think about with sustainability. I agree most things just sound better than they are.

Fenty Skin has a smart formulation as well but the ingredients contain some plant extracts and fragrance that aren’t necessary at all.

    It's so confusing to see dermatologists go through the whole ingredient list and explain them so detailed, then end up not recommending the products, but then to see so many influencers recommending the products :/ but I do know that everyone's skin is different so to each their own!

    • @ivelinaivanova7567
      @ivelinaivanova7567 3 года назад +9

      same, all the videos of dermatologists talking about the line are negative and they do not recommend it

    • @Snuzzled
      @Snuzzled 2 года назад +2

      I think dermatologists are coming at this from a different angle than influencers. Derma are looking at this in comparison to the stuff already out there, and comparing it to the products they recommend that tick all their boxes (eg, fragrance free, no "fluff" ingredients like the melon or cherry, no dyes, etc). They're seeing it as "just another celebrity skin care line" that's not better than the products they prefer, and therefore poo-pooing it.
      But influencers are comparing it to other celebrity skincare lines, and seeing it as more of an entry point into getting people into things like wearing sunscreen every day, or using a better face wash than their drugstore Neutrogena or worse, bar soap. If more people are wearing sunscreen because it's Rhianna sunscreen, that's a net benefit! If it gets US companies like Neutrogena to make better products because they're seeing the popularity of these more cosmetically elegant sunscreens, that is a HUGE benefit!
      And indeed, this year, I did see more cosmetically elegant sunscreens available in Target and Walmart. We're seeing more fluid sunscreens and ones that don't feel heavy and gross, which is great. Still not as good as the Asian or European sunscreens, because they still have to work with the old US ingredients, but way better than even five years ago. And with how long it takes sunscreens to be FDA approved, I expect we will see even more in a couple years.

    I’m sorry but there’s some people who watch a couple of skin care videos and then have the audacity to act like experts. Like low fragrance isn’t the absolute devil, just for people with really sensitive skin. Skin care is personal. I can use fragranced products because my skin isn’t sensitive but my sister can’t. The only reason youtubers recommend no frangranced products is because they don’t know your skin and are just speaking in general.

    I can't wait to try it. I feel like everyone jumps to introduce actives in their launch but I'm so glad hydration and protection are keys here. Plus an added element of environmental consciousness is wonderful too. I hope the fragrance won't be an issue for me since I'm sensitive but I'll take the risk. Worse case scenario I'll use them on my body 😅

      @soulchild05 3 года назад

      @@angles4307 first impressions:
      I really like the cleanser. Feels luxurious. The fragrance is very subtle. Does a great job removing makeup on it's own but I will still double cleanse. Not stripping at all! 9/10.
      Fat Water Toner: it is viscous but sinks in very quickly. I have very dry skin so it was not hydrating enough for me. Did take care of the little oil I have but ultimately my least favorite product 6/10
      Moisturizer/SPF - feels really nice on the skin and leaves a nice glow without looking greasy. The fragrance is a bit strong and lingers a little. Feels comfortable and skin feels very soft. 8/10
      All products have a different scent which I didn't know and no one mentioned. Cleanser smells like a honey tea like scent. Toner reminds me of a Pina colada. And the moisturizer is more fruity (it was my favorite scent of the 3). No issues and irritations so far but I will make note if anything happens but overall my complexion looks less dull and looks glowy.

    This is not for every skin type, it has fragrance in all 3 products and there was no need for that witch hazel in the toner either, fragrance is one of the main irritants
    The spf is not broad spectrum and you need to re-apply it more often than broad spectrum sunscreens so you will go through this quite quickly. This line isn’t the best it could be

    Thank you for talking about chemical sunscreen without making it seem like it's the devil. I have sensitive skin and I'm allergic to mineral sunscreen, I breakout in hives. People are always suggesting mineral sunscreen because it's "better for sensitive skin" however I broke out in hives within minutes of applying it. Even tried different brands, wore a foundation that had a mineral in it (not an spf foundation just had titanium as an ingredient) and broke out in hives. Chemical sunscreen is the only way for me.
