Am I the only person who thought this was some huge 100k subs RUclipsr, then sees only 5 comments and is shocked to see how underrated this channel is 😅

I agree!! I never liked how Evan never changes throughout the show and how he really doesn't go through consequences at the end. I've never been a fan of this show and I don't understand the hype for it.

I was a Fansen but i have outgrown a bit during the Pandemic. I still watch videos out of boredom. And i do forgive Evan decided to go on living and he's better off as friends with Zoe. But if i was in his shoes, i would not be happy about not being hated by millions of people for hiding how broken and alone i felt from people who felt that too. I knew going in it was not going to be a happy ending. And i have no total second thoughts. I would not pay extra to see DEH again.

My favourite highschool memory so far: spending hours and hours in book stores with a friend haha
My thoughts on DEH: I did get emotional when watching it and love most of the songs and think that Connor's and Evan's "friendship" is kind of cute but then again of course all of this is a lie and we never even really know anything about the "real Connor" but I still feel like it just couldn't have been a coincidence that Connor signed Evan"s cast shortly before his death like, I don't know, he wanted to do something nice/ interact with Evan before he'd kill himself
And Mike Faist is a cutie so it definitely was worth seeing (I actually just watched it on RUclips but nevermind)

It’s implied the note Evan wrote triggered him to kill him self

The best thing in the DEH book -and now I think about it, the only good thing in it- is that they actually flesh out Connor's character. He DID have a friend named Miguel but he isolates himself from Miguel because he did that thing in romance novels where he kisses his only friend and assumes that Miguel hates him and that's part of why he committed suicide. He felt alone. He's suffered from what a lot of people interpret as BPD and really no one associates with him outside of Miguel and he never gets the help he ACTUALLY needed since he was like, 8.
We get Actual Ghost Connor's perspective on some parts of the story but it's just more excusing Evan's actions. He even says that he'd be Evan's friend if he were still alive and I honestly don't know if that's from him knowing the struggled of mental health or just the writer trying to make everything seem okay or both.
He didn't even get to talk to Miguel on the day he killed himself. Honestly, I think Miguel probably would've talked him out of it. I recommend borrowing it from a library because most of it is just a retelling of the musical and I'm sure you wouldn't want to waste actual money on the book.

It's interesting to know that the author tried to flesh out the story a bit more. I'd have to look into reading the novel one day.

I still liked the show overall. I’m more of a fan of Act One than Act Two. Having autism is how I partially relate to Evan! I agree about the songs, emotional intimacy and the production value. I have a mom and dad who love me and extended family made up of my parents friends. But I don’t have time for people my age. I’m 28 now and I sometimes wish this show existed when I was in high school. DEH was good but not something I would pay extra to see again.

Are you guys seriously so narrow minded that you don’t even understand what the story is even about? This video is absolutely ridiculous and so are the comments

Hi, thanks for watching. What are your thoughts on the musical?

@@TheTheaterMaven Well from what I understood in the storyline, it’s about a guy who struggles with mental illness and fitting in in school due to his social anxiety. Unfortunately people who struggle with mental illness like that especially anxiety it’s easy to see it as if he was just lying, but in reality the lies were a result of his anxiety because he had a hard time handling the situation that he was being put into.

@@Metha_59 I just don’t see how I would ever do the same thing. He literally pretends to have been best friend’s with Connor and uses it to wiggle his way into the Murphy family, even if that wasn’t his goal in the beginning I think that’s disgusting for someone to do. As someone with mediocre social anxiety I think it’s a pretty terrible representation of us, I mean he could have written them a note, emailed them..etc there are so many ways he could have simply stated what was actually going on without saying it in person but instead he pretended to be bestie’s with a dead guy and started dating his sister.

@@urmomsfavoritekatertot7260 it was more than that, he wanted people to care about him and notice him. His original intention wasn’t to get into the Murphy family but Connor’s parents assumed they were friends and things panned out from there. I’m not saying what he did wasn’t wrong, but at the same time you cannot blame people wanting to turn their life around.
